Okay so let's make sure you have the KOE Folder in the CLANNAD install folder. You do have it in there right? As well as the koeicon.g00 file in the folder G00. Also is your comp in Jap settings and what OS are you using? It is of the utmost importance that folder KOE be in the folder called KEY then in the CLANNAD folder (Clannad directory folder) and the koeicon.g00 file be in the folder g00.

Yea, both th KOE folder and koeicon.g00 is where they should be. I'm using Windows XP and japanese settings is on. o.O

Then the only thing I can suggest is a complete reinstall of the game. This patch is one of the hardest to get working that I have come across. It does work tho cause I have played it. Reinstall the game and do not start it. Do the KOE and .g00 file as well as the exe.ini mode first before putting the text file in. Then start the game. That's all I can suggest I am afraid. Maybe I'm asking in the wrong place, but will In need to obtain Vista Ultimate/Enterprise (I only have Business) so I can install the Japanese language to play this?

It does work to an extent but errors may occur. I have installed it on comps without Japanese non-unicodes so it is possible.

So, I've got this game Clannad from my friend, and he already patched it with voice pack and english patch and he give the disc to me.
I've installed it and I can get into the game.
I click on New Game
The screen goes white
the music is playing...
the text box appears...
but no text at all.
I've waited about a minute, and still nothing happened, then suddenly my pointer icon became hourglass, and, boom, program not responding.
I've tried to install it several times, but still no luck, same problem, program not responding when I choose New Game.
Not only new game, but when I click another option, always windows not responding.
I've installed East Asian Language Pack btw.
Can someone tell me what should I do? I want to play this game so badly and this happened. I'm desperate..
Note : another of my friend who uses the same disc as me can play Clannad perfectly on his computer, so I don't think the problem lies within the DVD.

What OS are you using? Are you sure that you have your format as well as your non-unicode settings set to Japanese? Are you sure you meet system specs to play the game?

Ah, I forgot to set the Non-Unicode Language. Thanks a lot, it's now working perfectly!
Anyway, what will change if I set my Non-Unicode Language to Japanesse? My OS won't change to Japanesse right? I can't read them at all.

You don't have to worry about your language changing to Japanese or anything. Some programs might change, I wouldn't do any updating of your programs or system updates while you have non-unicode on. But as far as core system stuff like your folders, system files, start menu, control panel etc it won't change. I run my comp with non-unicode settings 80% of the time I am on it.

I for got to put up a game guide a while ago, this is it. It gives pretty detailed instructions on the choices to get the good endings but remember that the English patch is subject to change so stuff might not be exactly alike. You should still be able to tell what choices are what tho as they will not be entirely different.
