This is one of the best, if not the best VN ever as some will argue. A crime drama thriller that will keep you entertained with every character and twist that the plot takes.
To install the patch, let the game install to your computer with Japanese unicodes of course. Then run the patch wherever it is on you computer. If you get an error about blah blah can't open, then uninstall the game and just let it install in c:\\ and not the program files. Some reason or another that fixes it.
"You play the role of Azai Kyosuke, the son of a legendary gangster infamous in the underworld. You spend your time listening to Bach, playing God at school and covertly working for your stepfather, a ruthless financial heavyweight. This idyllic existence is broken when two individuals appear in the city - a beautiful girl named Usami Haru, with hair you could get lost in for days, and a powerful international gangster known only as Maou. Almost without delay, the two begin a deadly cat-and-mouse game, bringing you and your friends into the crossfire. Plotting, political intrigue and layer upon layer of interlocking traps are the weapons in this epic battle of wits."
G SenjÅ no MaÅ (G線上ã®é”王?, officially translated into English as The Devil on G-string) is a Japanese adult visual novel developed by Akabeisoft2 and first released for the PC as a DVD on May 29, 2008 in limited and regular editions after many delays.[citation needed] The gameplay in G SenjÅ no MaÅ follows a plotline which offers pre-determined scenarios with courses of interaction, and focuses on the appeal of the four female main characters. The title G SenjÅ no MaÅ comes from August Wilhelmj's "Air on the G String", an adaptation of J.S. Bach's original "Air", and Franz Schubert's "Der Erlkönig" known as MaÅ in Japan.[/h]
Oh man, I almost forgot that this novel existed, since I'm so busy downloading other games, I really thank you for this, luckily I found a chinese patch, going to try it as soon as possible XD!!
I wonder when they will release an open beta patch?
From TLwiki
July 31st, 2010: Chapter 4's main story has been fully edited. After Mizuha's route is edited (might be a good while, I need to write a scientific article next week) and the first three chapters are polished to a shine, expect an "open-beta" release. Downloading during this period will imply willingness to report any and all errors encountered in the game. - pondrthis
Should I expect them release it at end of this month or maybe september? o_O[/h]
Well, even before the whole shenanigans scripts, the team had said that new patch, or at least beta should be up by late Spetember, or early October (which, ironically, is when the game begins.)
So, it's very probable, especially that a lot is done.
In fact, the only untranslated "bits" is the last chapter and that last "page"/script in Chapter 4.
Hopefully.
Also, more G-sen is love. I am Room101, and I endorse this thread.
I added the soundtrack and there is a list of the complete names of the songs inside the folder. It's a pretty awesome soundtrack that I enjoy listening to every now and again.
If any of you are interested, here's the patch that translates chapter 3 main (not sure about kanon route since I didn't play that).
http://www.mediafire.com/?66de0z1qpz7p381
First one is the "introduction chapter" of sorts. The second one focuses on Tsubaki (the cheery readhead) and her family, third focuses on Kanon (very cheery gal, to whom our protagonist is adopted brother), fourth is dedicated to Mizuha (the white-haired) and fifth is the "closing chapter" which focuses on Haru.
The game works on interesting system: If you want to take other path than Haru's (which seems to be the games "canon" of sorts) and choose another heroine, than the story will end in the given's heroine chapter, with game ending being different than "true one" i.e - if you go with Tsubaki, game ends on chapter 2, if with Kanon, on chapter 3 etc.
I think you need to download all the patches. The noDvD patch is just an executable file (I think) which lets you play all the game without mounting the G-Senjou no Maou Disk. Since I'm playing the chinese version, I didn't use the english patch.
