OK. :?: I'm new to this. Can I get some help?

I can't get this damned thing to work on vista.
I've never used daemon or alcohol before.
I managed to dl daemontools and both parts of this game, and used winrar to extract them both to the same folder.
Then I installed daemon and mounted the mds(?) file to a virtual drive.
But I try to run it, the install window comes up in symbols and shit.
I'm assuming this is because it is trying to run japanese software in english, but i dont know how to change the settings to run it.
Also, I tried downloading that 'applocale' from microsoft but it didnt work; im assuming that thats because applocale "only runs on windows server 2003 and windows xp"
Anyone have any ideas?

I already feel proud of myself for figuring out daemon, so if i simply cant play this game, its not a total loss. But i freakin loved advance wars, so i would like to try this one.

I can't get this to work.

I unrar'd everything succesfully, but when I try to install the game I get random symbols :|

I changed my Regional options (Standards and Formats -> Japanese; Location -> Japan). Do I also have to change Text services and input languages?

um... do you have the japanese language installed on your comp? kus if you dont, it doesnt matter if you put your regional settings to Japan, you are just going to get gibberish text. check your language settings. im not totally sure if that thread you visited for the japanese installer is one that works.

I just recently installed the japn language pack. Gonna try again now and sese if it works :3
