You do get points for damage, not for kills. So it basically doesn't matter if you entangle a guy for awesome damage and then a hunter takes the kill, you do get your points nonetheless.

Let's not. It's already enough to get punched into the face before impact after a healthy ten meters leap - no need for an increased rejump timer for the slight possibility of you not getting autoshotgunraped afterwards. And chain-jumping hunters who only want to distract you aren't really a problem.
Also: Not enough hunters / smokers use their claw attack. It's actually awesome and in many situations better than a pointless pounce / entangle.
