Which is pretty lame if you ask me, I started to enjoy playing versus on Expert. With the right people I've been even able to make it to the safe room from time to time.

That was never the case in the first place. At least not without various modifications running on the server, which may or may not be a damn load of work depending on the possibilities Valve gave us - which makes it unlikely for such a modification to be present in such a early state of the game, if not even impossible by normal means / forbidden by Valve considering how they're already reducing the varities in versus.

I always guessed it to be a bug when I dropped due to the fire after a specific amount of time in, like, fire damage not being properly displayed, but what you said would make more sense. But I could've sworn I've seen situations with the tank being alive longer than thirty seconds after being set on fire. Might be my imagination, though.
