I just played a couple of those missions and from the looks of it a arcade stick is needed to pull of those long combos really fast.controller is not cutting it.
Don't tell me about what pad players can and can't do. If anything, you should be doing things faster because the distance to press buttons compared to moving a stick is much less.
I use a pad. I can do any combo that anyone on a stick can do. Don't blame the equipment. You're just not good with execution. Practice more instead of doing it three times and saying "Oh, I can't do it after 2 minutes, it must be the controller."
why you talking down on me? my first time playing the game and i already got you yelling at me.Its different compared to mk i'm still getting used to it.
This is the reason:

Like I said, don't do "a couple" of missions and go "Oh, I can't do it after a 'couple' of tries. I MUST NEED a stick."
Also... Sentinel is the worst character against small fighters. Mainly Zero, Amaterasu, Joe, and Arthur. The latter three can zone out Sentinel all day with beads, boomerangs, and axes. Zero can just rush him down all day. His huge hit box makes it hard for him to do anything against them not to mention Zero combos become that much deadlier.
However, the reality is that everyone you've probably played sucked with those characters. As such, it's obvious Sentinel, which is noob friendly can beat anyone.
Seriously... Sentinel is not that good. He's huge, has no life, and he's huge. What he has going for him is that Hyper Armor and huge damage potential. You play carefully, you can beat Sentinel easily.
Amaterasu in her bead most is a pretty bad mode for damage potential. You can't combo off her whip mode. It's bad. It does like, no damage, and you can easily jump over that... Seriously...
Also... People just use Zero because he's "cool". I have yet to find a person online who can use Zero properly. Well, I met one person, but he never charged his buster. The reason people should use Zero anyway is not because he's small but because he has rushdown and mixup potential. That's the way I use Zero.
Besides... For proper players, size means nothing. You'll have your combos and they'll work on every character no matter the size.
Jesus you guys make me just... facepalm.
There's no strategy to fight small characters. You play them like any other character. Obviously if you try "Sentinel only" combos, they'll drop. The only things you have to change when fighting smaller characters is the height with which you try to hit air overheads and the timing of instant overheads. Other than that, they're the same.
If there's anything you should be raging about, it's the priority on low shorts. Noobies can just spam that and you can't really do anything about it. =/
