really?
Mass Effect 3 has done something like that and I desperately need to laugh at 12 year olds attempting to engage in romance. BW2 has Yancy and Curtis so the precedent is unfortunately there.

Satoru Iwata, has already stated that nintendo will never make games for any other consoles.
That is a shame. I really want to know what are the thought processes behind this silly decision. If they want their games to be played by more people, surely they should create games compatible with more consoles!
Oh boy, another one of you people. Listen, Nintendo makes games for Nintendo platforms. They absolutely refuse to release those franchises on other platforms and even if they do fail they are likely to drag down all of the franchises with them to their graves. I personally think if you are interested in their games, you should get their platforms. I mean they aren't bad, the 3DS in this case is absolutely amazing from personal experience with it and the games it has. Although other people seem to agree that this is the case. I am honestly tired of people asking for games that are exclusive to become multiplat for your own convenience. It would be as silly as saying Uncharted should be on all systems because they would sell more than they already do.
It isn't really a silly decision to keep it exclusive to a console, however your decision not to enjoy a good game you may be interested in because it isn't available on all platforms is a bit silly.
That said I am of the view that a Pokemon MMO is a very very slippery slope in terms of game quality. Speaking from one of my favorite franchises of late, Monster Hunter, the Frontier MMO series of games have been really bad representations of the game. Instead of being reasonable fight this monster a few times and get the armor set or weapon you want, it becomes a grind fest much like most MMOs where reaching the end game content is as hard as it possibly could be. The way this could go wrong in pokemon is that breeding for the correct natures and good IV's would have an extremely low chance at happening(lower than now) and EV training would be much much slower.
On the less competitive side, games that have a story like Black and White or X and Y won't be able to be made since an MMO, while awesome for a bit, will eventually lose it's value. Most MMOs suffer from this, you play it for a while because it is awesome and you are playing with friends. But then you quit because you either reached as end game as you can without grinding out stupidly difficult things to get, or all your friends quit. The lack of being able to update the game sufficiently in story and being pretty much forced to go the Free to play model since subscriptions are outdated will make the game lose a ton of fun. Microtransaction TMs would be terrible.
Also, even though there are plenty of adult pokemon fans how are the new pokemon fans (read: young kids) going to get into an MMO? They likely don't have their own computer, and that is a bit expensive to be giving to a kid who won't know how to use it.
