The Shimazu blitz is meaning less. Happens once on True History route after the demon army starts attacking you, and you gain nothing from stopping all the attacks (except the obvious). Also I don't think you can get them on True route.
Vassaling a country is different from taking over. First and most important, you won't get any interaction with the vassaled nations' characters for the rest of the game and lose some other options like the tax. Second, you can attack nations that are near the vassaled country (and not you) but they can't attack you. This does not mean that they won't be taken over by an aggressive nation (say demon army).

At some parts of the game you will get some turns of peace but if you won't declare war some story event's will take place to get things moving and you risk making the demon army come faster.If you defeat the 4 generals blitz and destroy their units you will not get them. to get them you need to have defeated Takeda by brute force once and saved. I've successfully defended against their 4 general blitz and done the search event to assassinate Shingen, but only after taking over Mouri and recruiting the 4 from Shimazu in "Kill the Monkey Route". But after that I won't even see them, even if I try to stall and drain the remaining countries dry of their commanders. Am I doing something wrong?
Oh and I was wondering (from my last post, since no one answered) how you get Kurohime's third H scene? The one where she gets tied up with a wire under her crotch?

Pure luck, only thing you can do is try to drain other countries from generals after taking out Takeda. maybe read each turn who joins where.

There's three. The third happens when you kidnap her after the Shimazu brothers causes one of your female captains to defect. This only happens on the Ran and Kill the Monkey routes.
For anyone that followed the 5 star kill the monkey guide on the wiki, is the turn 14 hot spring in Edo thing a mistake? I just captured it and I don't see any hot spring. Matter of fact, the only hot spring I remember in the game is the one in Mazo...

Another thing. How do you ues downloaded savefiles? If I can't get past this part in a couple of days I will probably just use someone else's savefile, so I can play the monkey route.

Get diviners to cast guard shikigami on rance to prevent him from dieing. If you do not have diviners in your army or prison then get miko to heal rance or switch one range unit to become sill who will allow rance to stay alive longer.you can just let kentaro die unless he is one of your highest dmg dealers cause it's very hard to protect 2 units at the same time. You should be able to kill Xavier.

get commanders which has "convert action" skill. Always use Rance strongest attack then convert. thats how I beat him though.

For Masamune, try capturing all of the girls in the Date House
For Uesugi, try to trigger all the events in Kenshin and when his uncle goes coup de tat, kill the messenger and capture the house in less that 5 turns

Pretty much all of those are wrong...
Mouri: Deploy all of the family together in a battle
One-Eyed: Have all 5 of the youkai and wait for a beginning of turn event with all of them in it
Uesugi: Beat Kenshin route
Takeda: Deploy all of the generals together in a battle
Hojo: Beat Ran route

Thanks to you (and the other who posted) for the help. I just beat him and finally, finally, finally beat the game (After having to restart twice and spending over a 120 turns trying to raise my troops). Though I took the easy way out and leveled kentarou to 99 to take him down.
One more question: What's free-for-all mode? Is it like kill the monkey route?
