I will try to cover the early PC-98 games as well as other fan works like Super Marisa Land here, which I didn't have the chance to play myself yet, but I want to have a closer look at the game and it's files myself before I'm uploading anything, so be patient. This section will cover the games released for the Windows OS from Team Shanghai Alice, the one-man circle of Touhou's sole developer widely known as ZUN. --- Embodiment of Scarlet Devil [Touhou 06] EoSD is a vertical bullet hell shooter and the first game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS. Spoiler: During a peaceful summer in Gensokyo, an unnatural scarlet mist appears without warning and covers much of the land. It is strong enough to block out the sun, causing the affected areas to become dark and cold. Reimu Hakurei, a shrine maiden working at the Hakurei Shrine, feels it is a shrine maiden's duty to find the cause of this unnatural weather. Marisa Kirisame, a black-clothed magician, hopes that the person casting the spell will have some interesting items to collect. Depending on who you choose, only one of these two heroines actually goes out and investigates. EosD @ TouhouWiki. Notes on running EoSD under Wine: Make sure you have vblank synchronisation, or the game will run on crack. EoSD @ WineHQ DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Readme included for installation instructions. Increases system requirements of the game. This will only work properly with the english translated version of the game, applying the pack to the original japanese version will cause the fonts of the game to be messed up. --- Perfect Cherry Blossom [Touhou 07] PCB is a vertical bullet hell shooter and the second game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS, playing not too long after the events of EoSD when winter has arrived and stayed for longer than it should. Spoiler:In Gensokyo, people relax and bask in the calm of a winter without end. Spring has shown no sign of arriving even though it's already May, and in fact the snowstorms are continually getting worse. Reimu Hakurei, a shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine, is tired of being cold day in and day out and wants to find the source of this unnatural weather. Marisa Kirisame, a black-clothed magician, sees a cherry blossom petal float down outside her warm house and wonders if spring is happening somewhere else. Sakuya Izayoi, the maid leader of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, knows that their winter supplies are diminishing quickly, and wants to end this prolonged winter before they run out completely. Depending on who you choose, only one of these three heroines actually goes out and investigates. PCB @ TouhouWiki Notes on running PCB under Wine: I haven't encountered any complications at all, runs pretty smoothly with the 1.1.24 release of Wine. I tested only for one Story playthrough with Marisa, though. PCB @ WineHQ. DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Game executable is patched to the newest version 1.00b, which is required to run the english translation patch which is optionally provided in the game folder, simply run it if you want to have the game translated. 1/3: MU / 2/3: MU / 3/3: MU / Seperate game patch: MU / Seperate english translation: MU / --- Immaterial and Missing Power [Touhou 07.5] Immaterial and Missing Power is a two dimensional fighting game with a heavy slant towards projectiles, and the fourth game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS. IaMP plays chronologically between the events of PCB and IN but got released after IN, hence labeled 7.5. Spoiler:While making preparations for the feast three days away, Reimu is distracted by a strange powerful mist that is covering Gensokyo. She and many other inhabitants of Gensokyo (such as Alice and Patchouli.) go to investigate. IaMP @ TouhouWiki Things of interest regarding IaMP and it's rather unique style among 2D fighters: iamp.mizuumi.net - IaMP dedicated Wiki of the american playerbase. Hosts aside from shitloads of information also various stuff like an enhanced netplay client, character unlocks, replays and improved cpu player AI's. 18:14 long tutorial video on youtube, made by the people of iamp.mizuumi.net. Helps greatly in understanding the mechanics of the game and shows examples of high-level gameplay. Notes on running IaMP under Wine: 1.1.24: I had problems with the game running on a roughly 11 frames lower than intended framerate, resulting in it being in incredibly annoying slow-motion. Although regarding documentation, I seem to be the only person either having or noticing that problem. TouhouWiki states that such a problem could be fixed through simply giving the program more CPU priority, but that wasn't of any help for my case. Maybe it was just my quadcore processor fucking around, feel free to give me a report if you're running IaMP through Wine. IaMP @ WineHQ. DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Already patched to the newest version 1.11, which, in addition to being required for the also included english translation patch as well as various other tools like the enhanced netplay client, adds China to the playable characters for Arcade and Duel mode. 1/4: MU / 2/4: MU / 3/4: MU / 4/4: MU / Seperate game patch: MU / Seperate english translation: MU / --- Imperishable Night [Touhou 08] IN is a vertical bullet hell shooter and the third game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS. As the PCB incident was solved by our heroines, and calmness found it's way back to Gensokyo, youkai sense a sudden disturbance in the presence of the moon as the Harvest Moon Festival draws near. Spoiler:It's the eve of the Harvest Moon Festival in Gensokyo when youkai sense that something is wrong with the moon. It appears that the moon has been replaced by a fake moon. Someone must freeze time and find the real moon to ensure a full moon on the night of the festival. IN @ TouhouWiki. Notes on running IN under wine: 1.1.24: Game runs smoothly, the only problem beeing Wine having slight problems with text alpha. In conversations, instead of the text being on transparent background, it comes with a black background, almost not noticable though. Probably fixable through messing around with Wine's source, but not worth the trouble. Spoilers inside spoilers not working, sigh. Wine had problems with applying the english translation patch, more on that under DDL notes. IN @ WineHQ. DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Already updated to the newest version 1.00d, which is also required for the english translation patch. This time though, instead of simply providing the english translation patch optionally, it's already included in the files. This is because the patch wouldn't work out of the box for Wine users - if you really feel like wanting the original JP version of the game, let me know and I'll upload it seperately ASAP. 1/3: MU / 2/3: MU / 3/3: MU / Seperate game patch: As far as I know, there are no earlier than 1.00d versions of the full game. Seperate english translation: MU / --- Phantasmagoria of Flower View [Touhou 09] PoFV is a competitive vertical bullet hell shooter and the fifth game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS. Unlike the other vertical shooter games, you actively fight against other characters in a split-screen manner similar to that of versus puzzle games. Spoiler:Spring has come and the flowers are blooming... Only this time far more than normal and even flowers from every season at once. Each heroine (most of them anyways.) soon realize something odd is happening when they see the thick covering of flowers all over Gensokyo. The heroines head out in search of answers due to curiosity, duty, or boredom. PoFV @ TouhouWiki Notes on the netplay of PoFV: TouhouWiki states that the built-in netplay is extremely laggy and unstable. Tested it with a friend to whom I have an average delay of 20ms - yet we encountered framerate issues and input lag on the host's side - no matter what synchronisation settings we used. But overall the netplay was stable. Much better worked the enhanced netplay client Adonis, which is included in my upload, with which we both had a game performance as we had in single player. Notes on the built-in netplay: How-to at TouhouWiki. Notes on Adonis: If installed through the translation patch, use Adonise.exe (Instead of Adonis.exe.) to use the english game client for multiplayer. Pretty self-explanatory usage, use Server setting if you're going to host, Client setting if you're joining a game. Important: Go into the game options, key config and set the control type to FULL and 1P, or you won't have any input when using Adonis. Notes on running PoFV under Wine: Garbage. The game runs smoothly after a fresh install, but as soon as the 1.50a patch is applied the game simply crashes all over the screen - probably because of the incompatibility to the built-in netplay client which is provided with the 1.50a update. PoFV (v1.00) @ WineHQ DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Already updated to the newest version 1.50a, which is also required for the english translation patch which is optionally included in the upload as th09e_v1_1.exe. Seeing as you can individually alter aspects of the translation and you eventually have to install a (Within the english translation included.) Font on your system manually I also included the readme which guides you step-by-step through the installation. 1/3: MU / 2/3: MU / 3/3: MU / Seperate game patch: MU / Seperate english translation: MU / Seperate AdonisCaster: MU / --- Shoot the Bullet [Touhou 9.5] StB, or Touhou Bunkachou, is a vertical bullet hell photography game, and the sixth game to be released for the Windows OS. Spoiler:Dry times for Gensyokyo's enthusiastic newspaper journalist Aya Shameimaru. After the flower incident of PoFV was solved, calmness once again found it's way back, but peace doesn't make for good reading. In an attempt to get her hands on material for proper articles worth reading, Aya heads out and does what she does best; she stalks various people - much to their discomfort. StB @ TouhouWiki Notes on running StB under Wine: Game works almost perfectly fine, only your usual Wine font problems. The photo display problem that WineHQ states seems to be outdated and already fixed. StB @ WineHQ DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Already updated to the newest version 1.02a, which is also required for the english translation patch which is, as well as it's readme, optionally included in the upload. Simply run it if you want to have the game in english. 1/1: MU / Seperate game patch: MU / Seperate english translation: MU / --- Mountain of Faith [Touhou 10] MoF, or Touhou Fuujinroku, is a vertical bullet hell shooter and the seventh game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS. MoF comes with quite a few changes in gameplay - not only reached ZUN a new milestone regarding graphics and animation, but MoF, contrary to the older games, also no longer features a scoring system depending on grazing as well as a completely overhauled weapon system. Spoiler:Like all Shinto shrines, Gensyokyo's decrepit Hakurei Shrine was originally created for the housing and worship of a patron god. However, because all sorts of youkai are known to hang about the shrine, the local humans have ceased to visit and their faith in the shrine's god is dwindling, diminishing its strength and influence. Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame begin an adventure to reach and ascend the mysterious Youkai Mountain with the hope of finding a solution to this problem. MoF @ TouhouWiki Notes on running MoF under Wine: Game runs smoothly and the english translation patch can be applied under Wine as well. Though, since MoF runs with an overhauled engine, Wine requires a native DirectX library to be placed in windows/system32 and set up under winecfg to execute the game, named d3dx9_36.dll, which can be taken from the next best Windows OS (With an up-to-date dX.), Google or from MoF's DDL section in this thread. One big problem is MoF having almost non-recognizable text in conversations, which is incredibly annoying. While I lack information regarding the source of the problem, one way to bypass it would be through reading the conversations up on TouhouWiki's article on translated conversation scripts. Seperate english translation: MU / Native d3dx9_36.dll: MU / --- Scarlet Weather Rhapsody [Touhou 10.5] SWR, or Touhou Hisouten, is the eight game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS and plays about a year after the events of Mountain of Faith and is, like it's predecessor Immaterial and Missing Power, a fighting game created by the collaboration between ZUN and the doujinshi game developer circle Tasogare Frontier. Spoiler:A bizarre phenomenon is occurring in Gensokyo. In the middle of summer, untimely rain and hail fall in the Forest of Magic, snow blankets Hakugyokurou, the Scarlet Devil Mansion is enveloped in a cloudy, dense haze, and the Hakurei Shrine is leveled by a sudden earthquake. Throughout the game, Reimu and the other protagonists (Aside from the old IaMP cast also characters like Reisen and Komachi.) set out to investigate the source of the strange occurrences. SWR @ TouhouWiki Things of interest regarding SWR: swr.mizuumi.net - SWR/Soku dedicated Wiki of the american playerbase holding much information regarding game mechanics and characters. Notes on running SWR under Wine: Serious compatibility problems - the game executable freezes and errors all over the place. For possible solutions read this. SWR @ WineHQ DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Already updated to the newest version 1.06a, which is also required for the english translation to work. Make sure to download the english translation seperately, since it is (Yet.) not included in the main upload. 1/2: MU / 2/2: MU / Seperate game patch: MU / Seperate english translation: MF / --- Subterranean Animism [Touhou 11] SA, or Touhou Chireiden, is the ninth game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS. SA is a vertical bullet hell shooter with gameplay very similar to that of Mountain of Faith. However, new changes to the weapon, bomb as well as scoring system give this game, in my opinion, a nice difficulty touch of it's own. Spoiler:Snow falls on the, since the events of SWR rebuilt, Hakurei Shrine - time has passed by and Gensokyo is in the middle of winter. However, a sudden geysir outbreak as well as the appearance of various earthen spirits next to the Hakurei Shrine alarmed various residents of trouble far underneath - where youkai of the surface are prohibited to tread. Reimu and Marisa, who, as humans, may set foot underground unharmed, are sent into the dephts to get to the source of the problem - with youkai providing them with intelligence (Or lack thereof.) from above. SA @ TouhouWiki Notes on running SA under Wine: The same as MoF, really. Game runs smoothly, translation patch works, and it needs a native d3dx9_36.dll to not crash all over your ass. Grab it from the next best Windows, google or from the DDL section of MoF or SA. Also, same old font problem. Read the conversations up on TouhouWiki's article on translated conversation scripts. SA @ WineHQ DDL Zipped install folder, extract & play. Seperate english translation: MU / Native d3dx9_36.dll: MU / --- Undefined Fantastic Object [Touhou 12] There is no english translation available for this game. UFO, or Touhou Seirensen, is the tenth game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS. UFO is a vertical bullet hell shooter with gameplay very similar to that of Mountain of Faith and Subterranean Animism. But, with more playable characters, new weapon systems as well as the reintroduction of the old-school bomb systems from the earlier games before MoF, as well as the new colour UFO system this game packs quite a change in gameplay. Spoiler:There has been a rumor spreading throughout Gensokyo since the early spring about a flying treasure ship. Since it brings good omen, the heroines race to see who will be the first to board the ship. But from the sky, there's a black, shadowy figure moving at a high speed chasing the girls... UFO @ TouhouWiki Notes on running UFO under wine: The same as MoF and SA. Game runs smoothly but it needs a native d3dx9_36.dll to not crash all over your ass. Grab it from the next best Windows, google or from the DDL section of MoF, SA or UFO. Same font problem applies as well. UFO @ WineHQ (No entry for the full game yet.) Soku - or sometimes referred to as SWRS -, or Touhou Hisoutensoku, is the eleventh game of the Touhou series to be released for the Windows OS and is considered an expansion to Scarlet Weather Rhapsody. Like it's predecessors IaMP and SWR, it is a fighting game spin-off collaboration between ZUN and Tasogare Frontier. Spoiler:A mysterious giant is seen wandering around Gensokyo. It can suddenly appear and can just as suddenly vanish seemingly without a trace. Everyone who sees it becomes curious and wonders about the truth behind this strange sight. Cirno, Sanae, and Meiling each have their own fears and dreams about the giant, and each sets out in pursuit of this roaming behemoth. Exploring the Forest of Magic, the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and other locations in Gensokyo, the heroines face many challenges and obstacles in their pursuit of a mystery that's far deeper than it first appears. If you want to link Soku to your SWR installation for reasons no one has figured out yet (It doesn't seem to affect profiles or unlockables of Soku.), direct the [th105path] section inside configex123.ini to your SWR installation. Welcome to the nostalgia. This section will cover the official PC-98 releases of the Touhou project released under the publisher Amusement Makers, a studen group of the Tokyo Denki University Department of Science and Engineering, which ZUN, the creatore of the Touhou project, was part of during the development of his first five Touhou games. With the exception of HRtP, none of these games have an english translation available. All of these games can only be run through emulation software. My personal PC-98 emulator of choice as well as a bundle upload of all the five games and the emulator together can be found at the bottom of this post. Notes on running those games under Wine: 1.1.24: The emulator runs smoothly and requires no additional steps compared to a Windows platform. --- Highly Responsive to Prayers [Touhou 01] HRtP, or Touhou Rei'iden, is the first game of the Touhou series, released for the japanese PC-98 in 1996. The game shares some basic similarities with Arkanoid, but it is mostly its own unique game. Spoiler:Something has wrecked the Hakurei Shrine, and the resident Shrine Maiden isn't going to take it lying down. She charges through the gateway into another world, intent on locating and punishing the one responsible for the act. Although she isn't capable of harming her enemies directly, she wields an incredible weapon: the Hakurei Yin-Yang Orb. With it Reimu will be able to cut a bloody swath through all who stand before her...assuming that she can manage to control it! HRtP @ TouhouWiki DDL 1/1: MU / The english translation is already included, seeing it requires external software for disk image manipulation to be applied. Seperate english translation: MU / Readme for the installation included. --- Story of Eastern Wonderland [Touhou 02] SoEW, or Touhou Fumaroku, is the second game of the Touhou series and was released for the japanese PC-98 in 1997. It is also the first game of the series to be of the vertical bullet hell shooter genre. Spoiler:The resident shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei returns from a "training" session in the mountains only to find the Hakurei Shrine overrun by a contingent of ghosts and youkai. Excited at the opportunity to test her fledgling abilities, she takes the powerful Hakurei Yin-Yang Orbs and tears off on the back of her turtle Genjii to seek out the source of the invasion. SoEW @ TouhouWiki DDL 1/1: MU / --- Phantasmagoria of Dim.Dream [Touhou 03] PoDD, or Touhou Yumejikuu, is the third game of the Touhou series and was released for the japanese PC-98 in 1997. PoDD's unique gameplay of competitive vertical bullet hell shooting was later brought back in the ninth game of the Touhou project, PoFV. Spoiler:Much to her surprise, Reimu Hakurei discovers that some mysterious ruins have suddenly appeared just outside of the Hakurei Shrine. She joins in a violent competition with the other people who want to explore them — it is said that the one who reaches the heart of the ruins first will win a fantastic prize! PoDD @ TouhouWiki DDL 1/1: MU / --- Lotus Land Story [Touhou 04] LLS, or Touhou Gensokyo, is the fourth game of the Touhou series and the third to be of the vertical bullet hell shooter genre. It was released for the japanese PC-98 in 1998. Spoiler:Following the events of the previous games, the magical land of Gensokyo is once again at peace...until, and to no one's great surprise, it isn't. Youkai begin to swarm the Hakurei Shrine and a tremendous power surges from beneath a lake high in the mountains. The shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei must once again seek out and eliminate the source of the disturbance, only on this occasion she'll unwittingly be joined by an old rival... LLS @ TouhouWiki DDL 1/1: MU / --- Mystic Square [Touhou 05] MS, or Touhou Kaikidan, is a vertical bullet hell shooter, being the fifth game of the Touhou series it was released for the japanese PC-98 in 1998. Spoiler:As so often is the case, something is amiss within Gensokyo. A massive quantity of demons are pouring from a cave high within the mountains. Seeking the source of this invasion, Reimu Hakurei and co. must travel through Makai itself to confront the one behind the problem. MS @ TouhouWiki DDL 1/1: MU / --- Things regarding Anex86, the emulation software included in this upload: Anex86 comes with fairly simple usage - direct one of the HDD tabs to the disk image file of the game you want to play and hit Start. Savegames, settings and so on will be written directly into the .hdi game file. Should you have gibberish, unrecognizable text in-game, go into Config, open the Font tab and direct the program to the anex86.bmp which is included in it's folder. This section will cover the Touhou doujinshi games of various genres, like Touhou Soccer and MegaMari. --- [size=23]Platformers[/h] --- Super Marisa Land Super Marisa Land is a Touhou-based Super Mario Land clone by Tasogare Frontier, the, with the assistance of ZUN, creators of IaMP (Touhou 7.5) and SWR (Touhou 10.5). Super Marisa Land @ TouhouWiki Notes: Default Key binding: Directions - Arrow keys A (Jump) - Z B (Attack) - X Start - C Beating the game with Marisa unlocks Alice as playable character, which adds quite some difficulty to the game. The game's is english by default, but lacks conversations or story. 1/1: MU / --- MegaMari MegaMari is a Touhou-based MegaMan clone by Tasogare Frontier, the creators of Super Marisa Land as well as, with the assistance of ZUN, IaMP (Touhou 7.5) and SWR (Touhou 10.5). Spoiler:Tired of Marisa (And occasionally Alice.) constantly 'borrowing' books from her library, Patchouli Knowledge has hatched a plan to stop the incessant theft. Stashing her book collection deep inside a mechanized fortress filled with traps, she enlists the help of several other Touhou characters, all of whom have their own bones to pick with Marisa for one reason or another. With the help of Alice, Marisa sets out to defeat the other girls and gain new powers from them before making a climactic raid on Patchouli's castle to bring home another big haul of books. Super Marisa World is a Touhou-based Super Mario World clone developed by Double Cluster. Spoiler:Nothing story-wise to say until I spent more time playing it and read up on the translated dialouges on the Wiki. Super Marisa World @ TouhouWiki Notes: Default key bindings: Directions - Arrow keys A (Jump) - Z B (Attack) - X Start - L.Shift ESC instantly exits the game. The window which pops up once you start the game asks if you'd like the game in full screen (Yes.) or windowed mode (No.). Touhouvania is, like the name might suggest, a Touhou-based Castlevania clone from Frontier Aja. Spoiler:Nothing known to me story-wise so far. At that time, protection of the library was supposed to be certain... Except someone had stolen the clay doll manufacturing process and most of the Scarlet Devil Mansion has been over-run by these rival dolls. Ok, I'm stupid.
No matter, I got the game off another site.
Here's another chance to infer I'm an imbecile: What are the keys? Movement is obvious and I've figured out Z shoots but that's it. Options has a Keyconfig but it's just numbers and doesn't change no matter what you press anyway ex: It claims "00" is shoot.
Yes, I've tried looking it up. Instructions in any form seem to be in short supply.

So, I had to re-upload the whole of Touhouvania AGAIN because my copy of the game was apparently fucked and wouldn't let me patch it that easily.

So, it's re-uploaded, now patched to 1.03. The game now includes a built-in translation for both english and french, and apparently adds an extra stage to the game. I WONDER WHO COULD BE THE BOSS.

You need to have something that can extract .7z file types. You don't need to merge them just extract from the .7z.001 file. If that doesn't work, selecting all three files then initiating the extraction may work.
