I'm only getting a black screen whenever I start the game, is there any way I can fix this?

Anyone been able to play in window mode on Windows 7? Just got a new laptop with windows 7 on it and haven't been able to play in anything other than fullscreen.

And to answer this question, you can play the game in windows mode sucessfully in Windows 7, but to do so you need to turn off the Aero background to do this you can either

start-control panel-appearance and personalization- then click "personalization" and then choose one the simple themes; the contrast or simple colors.

or you can

right click on desktop-personalization-and choose on the simple color themes below as stated previously.

Well that's pretty lame but it works, thanks for the help tested and works just fine for me. A bit annoying having to do it everytime but it's a quick and easy fix, anyway + rep.

man i installed from 1 to 4 installed the english patch,updated the grafics, and tested it,was working perfectly,but there was the fourth patch to apply yet,so i applied and everything was back to japanese.
did i do something wrong along the way ? was i not supposed to use the fourth patch?

Fourth patch?All I did was install from 1-4 then copy paste the english patch when I was done with the 4th installation.
