When you have the choice, do you play as a male or female?

My first character is always a male. Playing with girls is fun especially in games with limitless possibilities in character customization.

I'm male and tend to play as females if I get the choice, but this also depends on what game I'm playing, and for various reasons thereof.

In Mass Effect for example, I play as a female simply because Jennifer Hale's voice-acting is superior to the guys' voice actor. (Who's name I've forgotten.)

In most RPG's such as NwN, Baldur's Gate and so on I tend to play as a male, at first at least. If I grow bored with my character or do a second playthrough, I usually play as a girl.

There was only 1 game that i played as male and, that was Ragnarok online *since you could actually get married there which was so new to me at that time*.Other than 6 years of RO, all other games i play as female.

According to this poll, 100% of the female player-characters in games are actually male. Whereas ~4% of the male player-characters are female.

No option to play as both? the only time i ever even thought about it was when the different genders have different abilities. beyond that, gender never made much difference to me.

I almost always pick female. Not so much in Dragon Quest games though.

I play male and female characters.

I always open 2 accounts. But if a certain game has a male and female character I always choose the female first then the male. Unless you need to unlock certain characters.

i usually play as a male because i'm a man and i wanted to feel like i'm inside the game and feel what the character feel...i usually avoiding any game using female as main character with the exception of resident evil games...8)

In most MMOs I play females because I prefer their style heh. But in american games I usually go for Man because the girls dont look so good on screen. Like in oblivion or fallout... In pokemon pearl I played Dawn because she was way too cute!

I like being the guy instead of being a girl in video games much like real life. Maybe cause of the cool weapons the guys gets. I mainly play as a girl if there really cute, hot or something :| that stands out. Guys usually have the badass weapons and the badass cool guy persona anyways.

I notice when i use female toon on WoW, dudes come up and give me random crap, and help me fight mobs. then they hit on me or follow me around.

Depends...from the game and from the qualities of the character...if in the game is better i use female instead male.

But also i like play with babes!...

Usually male, but when it comes to games like Persona 3 Portable or Mana Khemia 2 I have to do both, for different perspectives.

I usually go for male, but I sometimes play female as well. On the other hand, if it was a fighting game, I go for whichever character best suites my tastes

I just like playing as a cute girl or staring at my gal's sexy ass while I play. Looking at a guy's ass all throughout the game is not really enjoyable. If the girls are really ugly though then I'll be a guy then.

Depends whether the characters cool or not or whether it has a certain trait that suits your playing style!

Im male but ive got absolutely no problem with playing as a female.

(i dont wanna flirt with guys in Mass Effect 2 for example)

Depends, if it's a role playing game like Pokemon or Elder Scrolls, then male.

However, if it's a fighting game then a female or depending on my like on character roster and attacks etc.
