Plus gamers are the biggest suckers out of any consumer. I know from experience from working at GameStop the past 8 months. I can make someone spend at least 50 dollars more than they planned to if I wanted. A $100 price difference is nothing. Not trying to knock gamers since I'm one as well, but it's true.
You make gamers sound like typical Japanese house wives in Hentai who can't turn down a door to door sales person. I don't know what kind of gamers you get as customers but this is not the generic gaming market. Gamers, when compared to the rest of the population, generally have lower income. I worked at another video game retailer last Q3+4 and there are rarely any of these "noobs" you claim out to be. Most people have some idea as to what they want, except for adults who are buying video games for their children.
Let's face it, even if $100 isn't a big deal to most people, why would the consumers spend an extra $100 for bs policy that forces people to connect to the internet every 24 hours?
No, this is the generic gamer population whether you like it or not. This is GameStop, the place where at least 75% of the gamer population buys their stuff. I've been there for a year now, and I've seen all sorts of customers from all different states, not just the state I live in. Yes, they generally spend more than they initially plan when they come in. They buy accessories, season passes, power-up cards, pre-ordering games, and even games they didn't even plan on getting when walking in. Please don't try to skew it into some bogus view that fits your way of thinking. I'm just telling it like I''ve seen it.
