I'm *le gasp* still quite intrigued by the Xbox One, I want see what they can do with it. Largely because so far I've been more interested in the Xbox One exclusives than the PS4 ones but also because of the potential that the Xbox One actually has.
I've been through this before with Rbz; but I fit quite well into the Xbox One targeted audience. I have a fast and stable internet connection and I'm always online, and I do rarely buy used games. I know used games are cheaper, but as Cad-Comic put it: "Oh no! What about the developers? Think of all the money they could have been not getting from those customers.. I'm not that much of a gamer and depending on how well it's done I'm sure I will enjoy the Xbox's multimedia-function. Still haven't looked into codecs though, I'll have to do that. It will also depend on how well all that TV will work outside of the US.
The Xbox One also have a couple of nifty features that I feel the PS4 is missing out on. Like a smooth UI, better online-play (at least on the Xbox 360 vs the PS3) and that sweet cloud-processing. The "always online" aspect is also nifty when you're in my position. Dynamic online play such as that Sunset Overdrive game (Which, granted, seems to be pretty worthless, but the idea is nice.) would not be doable on the same scale on a system not devoted to online play.
I'm pretty psyched, but I'll guess I'll have to see where things go come the holidays, it's not like I'll be able to afford any next-gen console for a while anyway, will probably wait for slim-versions of whatever I'll be getting. (Besides the Wii-U which I'll feel forced to get once a new Zelda is released. The curse of growing up a Nintendo-fanboy.)
I like people like you. You're not supporting microsoft out of some misguided sense of brand loyalty because you seem to know what you're looking for as a consumer and can elaborate as to why you have a preference for microsoft's product. You reminded me of some commenter in an Erik Kain article about the PS4's no drm reveal, who responded to

I don’t see how Microsoft can recover from this. Sony has them beat in every aspect. The PS4 is more powerful, has no DRM, and is $100 cheaper. Why would anyone unbiased consumer choose the Xbox One?

I will buy the Xbox One over the PS4 any day and my brother and wife have already pre-ordered their Xbox One’s. The so call restriction on the Xbox One don’t even effect most people that are complaining about it. If you have Xbox live now I am fairly sure your Xbox is connected to the internet 24/7.
And for the features that I like about the Xbox One…
1. This is the start of home automation, in the next few year you will see things like Microwaves, Refrigerators, Thermostats and more that can be controlled buy voice commands in the Xbox One with buy simply just added wifi direct to them.
2. Skype group calls is a major plus and this carry over to your pc as well.
3. Built in Twitch, I wrote EA and Microsoft over 15 times over the last few years for a way for the members of our NCAA Football Dynasty to be able to watch games of the other members and especially the championship game, this solves that problem in a big way.
4. The advance Kinect sensor that can now monitor your heart rate, this is a huge plus for me when working out with Nike+ Kinect Training. ( I really can’t wait for this)
5. Snap, people are overlooking this but this is huge also. the ability to play games while answering a Skype call from my family overseas is a major plus for me. Snap also work with just watching tv or browsing the web.
6. Espn, the Fantasy football stuff is top notch.
7. The Power Cloud. People are talking about not being able to take your games to your friend house and just put the disk in and play but that is not even close to being true. You can now just go to your friends house without any disk sign-in and play any game in your collection.
8. Everyone in your household can use the XB Live features from one account.
You can call me Biased but these are just some of the reasons I will be buying the Xbox One over the PS4.
And maybe I shouldn’t say this part but I am an American and I would support an American company over a Japanese company any day, just like a drive a Ford Fusion and not a Toyota Camry.
I don't agree with all his comments, but I can respect his reasons for being excited about the Xbone.
