The day and night had past without disturbance. All the while, Orik sat, staring at the wall and thinking. At some point he had fallen asleep, but was roughly woken up when some of the guards came to get him from the cell.
"Oi, dwarf. It's the day of your trial. We'll lead you to the court room with all of the others that will be on trial with you."
"Mm. Is that today? Alrighty then. I suppose that I have yet to meet me attorney that will be representin' me."
"About that. You will have an opportunity to speak with your attorney in the court room, before the trial starts."
"Aye. I thank ye kindly then. I suppose we had best be off then.", Orik says as he exits the room and stretches. He is lead down a hallway to the entrance of the station, and escorted to the back of the police car. The ride wasn't too long, and they arrived still early in the morning, as the sun was just starting to rise over the peak of the courthouse. Already, there was a large group of people gathered outside of the courthouse, shouting, chanting, and yelling at each other. The police escorted Orik through the crowd into the courthouse, and lead him to the court room.
At one of the tables, on the right hand side, sat the attorney that would be representing him.
"Ah. Hello Mr. Orik, I'm your attorney, Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney.", Phoenix says as he holds out his hand.
"Aye. It's nice ta meet ya.", Orik says as he shakes the man's hand. "So. How do things look in yer opinion."
"They don't look too bad. The prosecution has put together a reasonable case against you personally for some reason. Especially since you had been ignoring relocation documents. But, I have confidence that I will be able to win your case, and the cases that I've taken up that are related to this. It may be a difficult battle, but I'm sure people will see the trickery behind all of this."
"Aye. I hope so too. I've lived here in this area before Fakku City was ever dreamed. And me kind's been living here longer than any man has either. I should no be here, as I am rightfully the last sole native of this land.", Orik says as he takes a seat near the attorney, waiting for the trial to start.

It was early morning and the FAKKU City's SPU office was buzzing with life as the officers went on with their work. Kei laid his head on his desk, exhausted from the all-nighter he had to pull last night. Kei had to write up his report for the investigation he was working on and at the same time, he was also investigating the NSJs recent actions. One event was stuck in his head, the attempted assasination of one of the NSJs high officers in its FAKKU branch.
All that had to wait as the commander walked in, a clipboard in his left hand and a red pen in his right. He didn't even have to call the men to attention, they knew the drill already. The commander smirked but it quickly dissappeared into his usual stern expression. He cleared his throat and took a deep breath.
"As I'm sure you all know, today is the day of the trial for the suspects in the recent NSJ riots. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that the NSJ will be giving the court a hard time as well as the OUJ who won't let the NSJ have their way without a fight. The boys in Civil Affairs are currently stationed around the court house, making sure that the NSJ or OUJ don't give the court any trouble. However, due to the importance of this trial and what it represents, they want to send us in as well to help hold back the two groups."
Everbody in the office began to murmur amongst each other. Sean came over to Kei, "This is gonna be interesting, hopefully they won't give us too much trouble." Kei simply nodded back to Sean as the commander began to clear his throat once more, the room grew quiet again and the commander continued.
"You'll be operating in your usual teams, each team will be stationed in an area near the court house and we will have three teams assisting the boys in CA at the court house. When I call your team up, head to the armory and load up. You are authorized to use Grade C3 equipment, SMGs and pistols loaded with non-lethal ammunition as well as non-lethal grenades." The commander held the clipboard close to his face as he read. "Team Grach, stationed in 31st."
Four men in the office all salute to the commander and head to the armory in a single file shortly exiting the armory, fully loaded, and leaving the office. The commander continued calling up teams until there was only Kei, Sean and 10 other men. The commander glanced at the clipboard once more, "Team Aztec, Kabel and India, all are stationed at the court house. You'll all be working together as a joint team, prepare your strategies as you move."
All the remaining men along with Kei and Sean salute the commander who salutes back and they all head into the armory in a file. The commander heads to his private office where he attends to his desk.
The three teams were all loaded up in a Stryker APC all wearing the unit's uniform, navy blue cargo pants and full sleeve shirt and a black tactical vest, combat boots, protective padding and helmet. The only way to distinguish each man was their faces, callsigns written on their vests and unique individual items they had on their uniform, Kei wore an S-10 gasmask and had a moral patch on his right sleeve that said "F*CK YOU", Sean wore yellow tinted goggles over his helmet, a black balaclava that only revealed his eyes through two holes and a morale patch on his left sleeve of an anime girl holding a gun.
Standard equipment were FN P90s and FN FiveSevens which used special 5.7x28mm rounds that fired non-lethal rubber bullets meant to incapacitate their targets. Besides three men who used non-lethal H&K 417 sniper rifles, all men had standard equipment along with their own personal attactments. Everybody exchanged their best of luck wishes as the Stryker made its way to the court house.
The court house was prepped and ready for the suspects' trial. The barriers had been set up to creat an open lane from where the car would drop off the suspects to the entrance of the court house, the snipers all had their positions at the back, left and right side of the court house. The officers from CA helped plug up the gaps of the defence barrier around the court house for the joint SPU team. Kei stood at the stairs of the court house, keeping a lookout through around the buildings and roads surrounding the court house.
Everything was quiet, it was an all too familiar silence that Kei was used to in his days with the ADF, the quiet before the big battle. Although many aspects of it have changed like the fact that it wasn't a war he was fighting or the fact that he'd be going against civilians. Kei found this too be quite exciting, his right arm twitched in excitement as he reached to turn on his mic.
"This is Kabel 2, all clear up front. Over" His report was quickly replied
"Kabel 4, all clear at the rear. Over"
"Aztec 3, all clear on the left. Over"
"India 1, all clear on the right. Over"
All sides reported all clear and soon another reply came. "This is Hotel Quebec, confirmed to Joint team, they're sending in the Package soon. Out."
Kei gave a sigh as he sat on the stairs, "I guess all we can do is wait now."

((Okay, I spoke to Zandorf and I decided I'll go first. This will be broken up between a few posts, but I will try to get to the point so we can move on. Everyone else can act as they see fit between bits. Now, let's see how this goes))

Because a motorcycle jacket, jeans and cap or motorbike helmet wasn't exactly the kind of thing someone wears to a hearing, Lang was given a suit; a matching trench coat and slacks, white dress shirt and black loafers. For the occasion, Lang had also made a request for a black fedora which he tilted forward to obscure his face.
Once ready, he was amongst those that would be loaded up into patty wagon and carted off towards the courthouse. The frigid December air was frigid and thick with tension and shouts of protests; both from the hakama-clad Nippon no Shin-Jisou and the more colorful and hippie-inspired Organization for an Understanding Japan. From the shouts and constant finger pointing, the situation could explode into a full-blown riot at any moment.
He was seated in the main courtroom where Pheonix Wright appeared after speaking to someone. He then spoke to Orik, since Orik hadn't had a chance to speak with him before. Lang took the moment to survey the room: He quickly found Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna, all looking interested, worried & agrevated and thoughtful respectively. The next moment, Lang saw Hotaru sitting next to them along with a ginger-haired girl he didn't recognize.
This girl and Hotaru were both dressed in St. Victoria's winter uniform; A black sailor coat with a red ribbon tie and the school's symbol on the right sleeve, a long white skirt that went down to the ankles to protect a girl's ankles from the cold (and loss of modesty). The girl had mid-length auburn hair and big green eyes and suddenly looked away when she noticed Lang looking her way.
Lang then turned his attention towards the main area of the court room as the six elected judges came to the stand and took a seat.
"Before we begin, I wish to reiterate the severity of this trial: Due to the extreme increase of criminal activity, specifically sexual misconduct, a law is being put into place that will all immigrant citizens of Japan be deported from this nation-"
And as one of the judge said this, the NSJ members in attendance erupted into cheers, while the OUJ members began to protest. The judge began smacking his gavel into the stand, shouting for order. It took a full twenty minutes before there was any as the bailiffs and officers stationed there worked to get everyone back in their seats.
"As I was saying..." The judge continued. "First will be Langying charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted homicide of the first degree and sexual misconduct. I'll say Ying-san, these are extremely serious charges. If convicted, you-"
"Yeah, yeah; I'll do a substantial amount of jailtime. Can we get on with it man?!" Lang snapped impatiently.
"Hm, yes. Now, Ying-san, how do you plead?" Asked one of the judges.
"Not Guilty." Lang said.

Late night before the trial, Kazuya had receive a package from his "client". What the package contained was a voice recorder, a court pass and a letter containing a message from him. The letter had this message written on it,
"Deliver this to the defense attorney if the trial is going badly for them. This piece of evidence will help them turn things to their favor. If you have a chance, kill the leaders of the NSJ present on the trial."
"Easier said than done..." whispered Kazuya softly to himself.
However, this was still a job and Kazuya intends to finish it as intended to make up for his failure earlier today. He went back to his room to take a few tools that he'll be needing tomorrow. Upon entering his room, Ann greeted him.
"You're back. Thank goodness. I watched the news just now. Thank God you weren't in it. I was so worried. Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine Ann. I'm sorry, I seem to always worry you."
"*shakes head* It's fine but you'll be leaving again aren't you? Your expression looks grim."
"Yeah... I'm just back to get some stuff."
As he talks, Kazuya took 2 flashbangs, a smoke grenade, some wires and 2 switch detonated C4s. He then changed into a suit and put his equipment inside his suitcase, his two handguns and flashbangs tucked neatly and out of sight. Kazuya refrained from bringing any cartridges for stealth purposes. Ann has a worried look on her face as Kazuya heads out. Before closing the door, Kazuya looked back at Ann with a gentle smile.
"I'll be back."

He goes into one of the alleys and checks out the back exit out of the Court. The alley has a manhole that leads to the sewage. He decided to plant a C4 bomb near the entrance of the alley and leave the manhole loose but not open to avoid any suspicion. Next, he plants a C4 at the entrance of the Courtroom, in the ventilation shaft.
Kazuya review the plan and looked at the map of the court again. He thought to himself,I've done all I can and even prepared an escape route. Next is the trial itself.

The trial was beginning anytime soon, as many people scramble into the courtroom. As Kazuya had expected, the security was tight; the main roads leading to the Court was surrounded on all sides and the officers were searching every single guest with metal detectors however, Kazuya wasn't searched thoroughly. That was probably thanks to the pass that he got from his client. The moment Kazuya showed that pass, he was given passage immediately as the stationed officer saluted him.
Kazuya walks calmly into the courtroom and takes a seat that is nearest to the defense attorney. The 1st trial has already started by the time he sat down. Kazuya watches calmly at the trial of the rude man in his biker get up. He knew that this trial is only truly over with all of the accused when they are judged. He waits for the right moment to use his piece of evidence by his client as he watches the trials........

Lang was brought to the stand and sworn in by the bailiff. Due to the nature of his crimes, or NSJ bribery; Lang was still handcuffed as he took the stand. The prosecutor stood first and gave Lang a very dirty look and muttered something under his breath before he began his prosecution.
"My Lang Ying; where were you at 9:15 of December 13th 2011?"
"I was dropping off my little sister, Hotaru." Lang answered.
The prosecutor smirked. "And would you please point your sister out to the judges?"
For a moment, Lang looked at the man with a raised eyebrow, but did as requested, turning the audience's attention towards Hotaru who could do little more but look back before hanging her head in embarrassment. Again, the prosecutor smirked.
"I find that interesting that you refer to young Hotaru as your imouto. However..." The prosecutor went and retrieved some documents. "You are an American, a Negro at that and Hotaru is a natural born Japanese. Do you honestly expect the court to believe the two of your are of any relation at all?"
"Yes." Lang answered with a hint of annoyance.
"Oh, is that so?"
"Hotaru was adopted by my parents; that makes her my younger sister."
"Interesting... And tell me, Ying-san; how often do you engage in sexual activity with Hotaru?"
The courtroom gasped as this question was asked and Lang looked visibly surprised, despite his fedora hiding most of his face. However, before anything else could be said...
"OBJECTION!!" Pheonix roared from across the room, shocking everyone again. "That question bears no relevance to the case whatsoever!"
The judges exchanged words before one of them said; "Granted; Minato-san, please stick to the matter at hand."

Minato sighed then continued. "Ying-san, would you tell us why you had brought a firearm to St. Victoria Girls Academy?"
"I brought the rifle because of the guys runnin' around rapin women left'n right, even in broad daylight as well as these Nippon No Shin-Jisou idiots beating up anyone who wasn't born here. And before you go and start accusing me of having shot some people; those unarmed civilians you say I shot, were NSJ protesters, armed with bokken, harassing students and faculty to join their cause and giving the Student Council President a hard time. I fired once into the air to get their attention, then pointed the rifle when they made threatening gestures toward me and nothing more: I did not shoot anyone." Lang explained firmly
"HE'S LYING!" One of the NSJ shouted. It took about five minutes to pacify him and some others that got riled up.
"Oh, but you did, Ying-san. I have evidence, as well as witness testimonies that say that you fired upon a crowd of innocent, unarmed civilians and then made grotesque sexual gestures toward students at the scene of the crime!"
"Okay, let's see it" Lang said with a challenging tone and shrugged.

"My Lang Ying; where were you at 9:15 of December 13th 2011?"
"I was dropping off my little sister, Hotaru." Lang answered.
The prosecutor smirked. "And would you please point your sister out to the judges?"
For a moment, Lang looked at the man with a raised eyebrow, but did as requested, turning the audience's attention towards Hotaru who could do little more but look back before hanging her head in embarrassment. Again, the prosecutor smirked.
"I find that interesting that you refer to young Hotaru as your imouto. However..." The prosecutor went and retrieved some documents. "You are an American, a Negro at that and Hotaru is a natural born Japanese. Do you honestly expect the court to believe the two of your are of any relation at all?"
"Yes." Lang answered with a hint of annoyance.
"Oh, is that so?"
"Hotaru was adopted by my parents; that makes her my younger sister."
"Interesting... And tell me, Ying-san; how often do you engage in sexual activity with Hotaru?"
The courtroom gasped as this question was asked and Lang looked visibly surprised, despite his fedora hiding most of his face. However, before anything else could be said...
"OBJECTION!!" Pheonix roared from across the room, shocking everyone again. "That question bears no relevance to the case whatsoever!"
The judges exchanged words before one of them said; "Granted; Minato-san, please stick to the matter at hand."

As the trial progressed, the crowd was getting restless. As soon as the man known as Ying said his testimony, the NSJ supporters shouted in unison. Kazuya was impressed by the man's courage, to say the least. Although he thought him to be quite the reckless one, Kazuya nevertheless smirk slightly at his testimony.
As Kazuya watched on, his disgust for the NSJs and that prosecutor, Minato increased. However, he remained calm and looked around the courtroom to survey the ones present for the trial. He could spot a leader of the NSJ opposite of his seat; Hiruya Ryuudou, leader of the propaganda division of Fakku City's NSJ.
Well, this is a nice surprise. is what Kazuya thought while giving a little smile. Kazuya began thinking of the way to kill him in this courtroom. Let's hope I can leave in one piece after this Kazuya thought as he shrugs.

The trial progressed as Minato continued his prosecution.
"Now, Ying-san... Would you care to tell the court why you own a firearm in the first place?"
"It was a Christmas gift from my father after my eighteen birthday. And yes, the rifle is properly registered and I'm legally allowed to have it. And I did not shoot anyone with it." Lang explained
"My, my, so hasty to defend yourself, Ying-san. I've been doing a bit of poking about your personal history and I see that you hold a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. You're also known around the martial arts community as a talented swordsman. So tell me, why would a swordsman own a rifle?"
"... Because it was a gift from my father...." Lang said again with an awkward annoyance. "I mean, you could look that up yourself."
"Ah, yes. A gift from your father. I'm sure you cherish it, Ying-san. I mean after all, you Americans love your guns don't you?"
"Actually, I'm more impartialed to swords. Guns feel kinda impersonal." Lang cut in
"Or so you say. However; ladies and gentlemen of the court, there are two things wrong with Ying-san's statement. 1. It's a known fact that Tae Kwon Do is the Korean's failed attempt at copying Japanese Karate and is little more than a sport of foot tag. As such it can be said that earning a black belt in this style is no impressive feat. 2. Ying-san trained in Zen Masters school in New York of the United States of America. It is also a known fact that Westerners lack the talent and discipline to properly master any martial. As such, the dojos places where people practically buy their way to a black belt so they can impress their friends.
As such, it can be said that Ying-san is-at best-a mediocre fighter who flaunts his black belt in order to get attention and when his bluff is called; he uses his rifle to intimidate potential opponents. After all, no self-respecting martial artist would ever use a-"
"SHHEEIII-AAHHH!!"

Before Minato could finish, Lang took a deep breath, converting his Qi to Jing (essence/power) then spread his arms out in a fa-jin movement, snapping the handcuffs' chain. The crowd once again gasped at this feet of power, but Lang kept a casual composure as he turned his gaze to the shocked Minato.
"Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?" Lang said with a mocking tone. "Go ahead; continue." Minato was still in shock. "Then allow me to retort: ... I kept that rifle mainly out of respect for my father, because despite my interest in the sword and martial arts; I come from a family of gunslingers. Secondly, just because I practice martial arts doesn't mean I'm not allowed to own a gun. And despite the skills and power I've developed during my training, I have found that rifle useful and it's saved my ass more than a few times during my travels as a swordsmith assistant.
Almost everyone around here talks about how guns are so evil and dishonorable because it kills people. The same shit could be said of swords. Just like any idiot can swing a sword and hit stuff and it takes a swordsman to wield it swiftly and accurately, any idiot can shoot a gun, but it takes a marksman to make precise shots. The gun, in and of itself, is merely a tool."
"Hm, you really believe that, don't you Ying-san. However, you have to keep in mind that you have a minor in your care. Tell me, is it appropriate to have a gun around Hotaru-chan?" Minato asked.
Lang grunted in annoyance. "What does this have to do with the case? Stop draggin Hotaru into this!
Minato smirked, as if he had caught him. "You must answer the question, Ying-san."
"Yes, the gun is still in the apartment in which we live. However, it's always kept out of reach of anyone I don't want touching it, is locked, unloaded and the safety is on. Also, Hotaru's not that young or an idiot, she knows the rifle's not to be messed with."
"So, you haven't let her play with it anything of the sort?" Minato asked.
Lang looked at the man as if he'd gone mad. "What the hell would I do that? Besides, Hotaru's not an idiot! Why the hell would she play with a gun? She's friggin' fourteen, she stopped playing with dolls when she was twelve!"
Minato looked displeased. "Nothing further." He said and went back to his seat.
Next, Pheonix came up.

Kei listened in to the court room from his headset. "That prosecutor, something is up with him." Kei shook any lingering thoughts about the trial and continued holding back the protesters across the barricade.
Past the portable bar barricades, a roaring crowd of NSJ bearing their bokken and discrimitory signs chant and shout at the police. The barricade rattles as the crowd pushes themselves towards the officers, screaming their chants and shouts.
Kei held up both his hands up in an open palm, signalling the crowd to keep away. Kei spoke into his mic, "This is Kabel 2, reporting a lot of resistance at the front, what is your status?" Kei waited for a reply.
"This is Kabel 4, lot of resistance at the rear. Not too much to be heavy, Over"
"Aztec 1, light resistance on the left. Over"
"India 3, heavy resistance on the right. Over"
After a moment, Sean replied on the radio. "This is Kabel 1, keep them back and do not retaliate unless in self-defence. Don't let them pull you in with their insults."
All call signs replied with "Roger" and afterwards all that could be heard from the radio is the trial going on in the courtroom. Kei felt a bit annoyed by the prosecutor Minato, "That guy, everything he's said has been odd. What the heck was with the report he read?" Kei remembered last night when he was looking into the information relating to the trial, the report he read on Lang was different to the one Minato had read.
"This reaks of NSJ interference." Kei thought to himself, letting the other officers from Civil Affairs take over as he head inside the court house. "This is Kabel 2, taking positions inside the Court House. Out"

As I am sipping my very own marmalade tea, the thought of Minato for the trial tomorrow again appeared on my mind. But all of a sudden, I heard the siren from the bell and people shouting “Code Red! Code Red!” while running on panic. I can also here the ambulance going back and forth.
“What the hell is that code red? We are not police!” I shouted. Then one man, hurriedly reported to me, said “Sir, there’s a reported sniper who managed to kill Mr.Setsu, sir! ”
“Wha..What?! A sniper?! One of the mercenary maybe?! So this is what code red’s all about. Are there any other casualties? “
“Yes, Sir. There are reported casualties from the nearside building where the hostile is reported to have performed the said commotion. Probably used smoke grenades according to the reports.“
“Carry on”
I hurriedly went to the scene of the incident, and realized I shouldn’t have said that “Carry on” to the young man. “That’s for military and police?! What am I thinking” urgghhh..
I saw a lot of men standing at the place, and recognize one of them is Minato. We had a small talk, and he said that the bullet really was for him. Maybe there are some civilian who wanted the trial to be postponed, and killing Minato is their chosen option.
“Well, you should be careful from now on you know. The trial is not of a small business you can entrust to someone” I diligently said to Minato “We are just lucky that Setsu is not of good use.” Actually, im planning to discard him one of these days.
Its not the fact that I’m not taking this incident seriously, but the trial is way more important than following that pesky sniper. I requested bullet proof body armor for Minato, and a suitable hand gun to be held on trial.
He’s pretty luck I have a lot of Business in my head right now, coz if not, He would probably be dead.
