Fate RP discussion thread.

Well most masters are well trained magi to begin with so they really shouldn't learn much but then again you do have your Shirou's and the like that occur or just regular people can be selected should there not be enough viable masters present for the war to start.

But for learning a new skill or spell you could set x amount of time on the learning duration thus making an amount of time they cant make an action as a master which would limit the players actions and leave them vulnerable to attack.

Well, I'm glad to see this thread is gaining interest, and momentum. Also, judging from the list of candidates it'll be one hell of a ride to watch.

I prefer Sorrow's suggestion. Spending a certain amount of turns to train oneself and leaving oneself wide open is a good idea. It's logical and fair.

You can also spend prana to learn a new spell. But yes, there will be that option as well. Perhaps maybe spend an action point every round until you've spent the required number of action points to obtain a new spell.

To invest learning spells but leaving one to become open... Wouldn't making one not being able to attack be a more valid option? If I'm following the discussion rightly , territory control is another factor that one can invest in this RP yes?

Main home territory aside, one would face the danger of losing the territory they originally possess.

Considering the option that since each player controls that master and servant. The master COULD be given the option to guard a single territory if he/she owns multiple of them. Or in this case, Archer class would be able to move from it's designated position due to "Independent Action" skill. Of course, leaving your servant away from you will also trigger the possibility of being ambushed in your home territory (aka Assassin, rider specialty)

Penalties may be subjected to servants on guard duties. Reasons such as the Master investing prana would not supply servants with additional prana than necessary than keeping them existing. Thus moves that require huge prana would be out of option from them (unless the servant's a caster) and giving Opponents that much of an advantage.

Thus, learning of spells would be one factor each master will have to consider deeply to prevent every single master to learn spells all the time.

As to the territory thing a magus of the three families of origin start off with beneficial positions on the leylines of fuyuki whereas other magus strive for other beneficial locations to set up their workshop while having a strong position on the leyline is important so is secrecy so if 3 people are vying for the same location only to find someone there well you can imagine what would happen next.

With the whole barrier thing with a good enough assassin servant navigating traps and barriers can be like a walk in the park for them.

Well since this would be set in Fakku City, there wouldn't have been any families of origin. Well having, some of us vying for the same spot might actually be good.

I'm aware that the 3 families may not be part of it but its still something to keep in mind.

Personally, I'm against the whole training option. It's just too easy for people to twink, speedhack, shoe elf, and other annoying munch situations. And besides, normal people/magi aren't Shirou; training for 7 days or so doesn't always lead to huge improvement. I'm not saying it can't be done, but yeah. If the majority wants training, then alright. Just count me as the "no" vote.

And Sorrow reminded me of something. Rise, what time period is the RP going to be set in? I know it's going to be set in Fakku city, but how similar is that world to ours? For example, would our characters know about things like Code Geass, Death Note, DBZ, etc?

I'm pretty sure Fakku city leans pretty close to the one that has a RP made for it.

Of course, everyone will gain same amounts of points and will have to post it publicly along with their character profile.

And if someone munches, I'll simply tell the guy to fix his shit.

They are all undecided as I'm working lots on the servants as of now. But I was thinking something that the grail war would be pure and holy, meaning no Avenger contamination. Therefore, the grail can truly grant wishes at this state.


The city is not going to be like that one RP that Hiroyuki linked.... it's an idea that came to mind way before that RP.
