Life After Death! (Another CYOA by yours truly!)

"Who am I?" you ask.

"You're Henry Fitzgerald!" the voice answers. "How did you forget who you were?"

"That's not what I meant," you say. "As in who was I when I was alive?"

"Sorry, you only get one question. You should have been more specific! Haha!" the voice says. "But, not wanting to leave you with nothing, I'll give you something real special if you can answer this random question. What is the name of the tallest mountain mankind has discovered?"

You think for a moment before answering:

Haha, I wanted to do something like this since my first CYOA. I finally decided to try it out! It shouldn't be too hard to figure out the answer with the wealth of knowledge of the internet.

...On Earth?...Mount Everest...On Earth, right?

Mankind has discovered suggests every mountain we've discovered. So, not just Earth. Haha, this question'll be up until the morning. Right answer or not, you will be taken to the next area.

It's the central peak of Rheasilvia on the asteroid Vesta

If it's all that mankind has discovered, then it's this, if you count asteroids as having mountains. I'll change my answer to this. Wiki ftw.

Yeah!!! I am back! I had a great breakfast and I'm pretty psyched, so hold on to your butts! In all seriousness though, I am proofreading what I've written so far in both my submissions and will update both of them sometime tonight or tomorrow. But for now, let's continue this story!

"Rheasilvia is correct!" the voice says a little astounded. "I'm surprised you know such a random tidbit. Here's your gift!"

"What's my gift? I didn't get anything!" you say. You quickly come to the realization that what you had just said was not in your mind. You are both shocked and happy at your ability to speak once more. You quickly focus your attention on your companion in the cage and ask her a question. "Can you talk to?"

She simply shakes her head before standing up, readying herself for the next task at hand.

"Well, time to take you to the next area," the voice returns. Your gift for the next area will be decided by how you answer my next question. Would you rather get shot, or stabbed?"

The question concerns you a little, but you answer:

A. Get shot
B. Get stabbed
C. Neither
D. Indifferent
E. Other

Level: N/A

While I would love to be a smart ass and answer something else, I suppose I will at least answer his question directly and say B, I'd rather be stabbed. Stab wounds recover much easier in general.

Pain from the knife can be lasting. A bullet is in and out.

I flipped a coin! Xen won this one. Man, I didn't realized how much I've written! It's taking ages to proofread all of it again!

"I'd rather get stabbed," you say.

"Ah, okay," the voice says. "Please step out of the cage."

You do what he says and you appear in a large swamp. Ridiculously thick trees extend all the way past the clouds and the water is an uninviting dark green color. Where you stand is muddy beyond belief, as if you're walking in maple syrup. You look behind you to see that your companion is till with you. A handgun appears in her hand followed by a holster on her hip. The same thing happens to you as a knife appears in your hand followed by a sheath on your hip.

"Find the cage in the swamp and I'll send you to the next area," the voice says. "Normally, I would have had you and the girl kill each other in the cage first, but you two are really amusing. Be careful by the way, there are some pretty awful things in this swamp."

You say nothing and ready yourself. You decide that your first course of action should be:

A. Explore and move forward as fast as you can
B. Trade gifts with your companion
C. Climb one of the trees to get better bearings
D. Split up with your companion to cover more ground
E. Other

C. It might be the best way to scout the area outside of splitting up. And I don't like the idea of splitting up.

C as well. Happy we have the knife in this setting. It should prove useful in a wilderness environment.

C, too. Getting to know your surroundings is a wise idea.

"Wait here, I'll get a better view from up one of those trees," you say. You slog through the mud to approach one of the trees. As you near one and attempt to find a hold, you hear a strange groaning noise. You wonder only for a moment before a a face suddenly materializes on the tree and screams at you. You don't even have a moment to react before a root flies out of the swamp and latches on to you, throwing you into the hollow part of the tree that is now acting as its mouth. It crushes you for a good amount of time before spitting you out. You feel your companion behind you as she softens your blow by trying to catch you. It results in both of you splashing loudly into the water. As you both stand once more you decide to:

A. Try another tree; maybe they aren't all monsters
B. Pick a random direction and start exploring
C. Pick two random directions and explore separately
D. Other

Damn it, crazr. Oh, let's get our bearings, let's try to see where we are. Nope, haunted tree. Rapidly moves before giving us a chance to react haunted tree. Goodbye 60% hp.

"Damn...That wasn't what I expected at all," you say shaking your head. You look around you and decide that the best course of action might be to pick a random direction. You look at your companion and inform her. "I guess the best thing to do is to take a shot in the dark."

She nods her head in agreement as the two of you agree.

"Alright, where should we start..." you say as you continue to look around and choose to go:

B. Northwest
C. West
D. Southwest
E. South
F. Southeast

H. Northeast
