Mahou Shoujo/Shounen★Magica (Role-play)

Haruka snuggled her face to her pillow, not wanting to rise up while one of her attendants kept telling her to do so. Haruka finally opened her eyes, ever so slowly; she looked at her attendant, wearing a kimono, and closed her eyes back. "Haruka-san!! Please get up, you'll be late for school!" reminded, Haruka's attendant. Haruka realized that she not just had to go to school today, but also has a plan to meet Menolly today. Just before the attendant thought about giving up, Haruka raised herself up, looking at the attendant, "I'm sorry for not getting up earlier," Haruka apologized. The attendant smiled as Haruka slowly and slightly bowed her head, "What are you waiting for? Hurry up and get ready, breakfast awaits you, Haruka-san,". Soon after, Haruka went to the bathroom, and the attendant took her leave.

After about fifteen minutes, Haruka came down the stairs on the large, Japanese style house, with wooden floor on almost everywhere, and with traditional Japanese sliding doors. Haruka simply sat down on the dining table, and her food were served.

After Haruka was done having her breakfast, she walked her way to the door in order to leave after taking her school bag. Bidden farewell by her attendants; she took leave, getting on her car, ready to be escorted.

Once Haruka reached school, she looked around the gates and before the doors of the building. I guess she's not here, yet, Haruka thought, walking as elegantly as always to her way to her classroom.

After Haruka reached the class, she took a seat. Soon after, other girls from class surrounded her, taking away the chances of seeing if Menolly even crosses through the class through the transparent walls made of the glass, which is what the whole building was made of, though most of the buildings today are made out of solid glasses, mostly which is all due to the advancement of technology.

[size=12]On her trek to school, Yuiko had met Menolly about halfway to give her her forgotten bag. She apologized repeatedly, hating to feel like a burden, but her older sister just laughed and told her she probably needed the exercise, then shooed her sibling off to school.

The rest of the walk didn't take very long; within minutes, she arrived once again at the tall gates of her high school. She knew she was running a little bit late that morning, but Menolly looked around for Haruka anyway. Maybe she could say hi before class... Not seeing hide nor hair of her friend, she pouted and sighed in disappointment. Oh well, she thought to herself. I'll get to see her after school, so it's fine.

Menolly made her way to her classroom and sat at her desk, using her bag as a pillow and staring lazily out the window as she waited for classes to begin and the drone of another day to drag on. Just hang in there, she encouraged herself, instead trying to focus on her homeroom teacher as he walked in. She stood and then bowed with the rest of the class, then sat down. Menolly's school day began, starting with her mind drifting elsewhere.[/h]

The homeroom teacher came in past the door, after the school bells rang - announcing the field trip that is suddenly take place tomorrow. Haruka was very shocked, hearing the very fact that students on Mitakihara High School are going to go to Tokyo, too. Haruka knew that she'd meet her renowned friend, Sora there. But Haruka also thought to herself, Will she really leave her territory wide open? Maybe I shouldn't have high hopes already... .

There were Math, English, History, and Physics classes until it was recess. Various voices filled the room, rumours were already going around, about Aoi, the renowned gravure model who studies in Mitakihara will come to Tokyo High school due to the school's field trip. Haruka rushed out of the class before any girls would have the chance to speak to her. She went her way to the rooftop; taking her cellphone out, just before Haruka was about to do anything. Haruka's phone vibrated. There weren't any ringtones ringing out since her phone's silent mode was activated. Haruka took a peek at the screen of her cell, and received the call. "Sora! It's so long since the last time we spo-" Haruka's sentence was interrupted, then Aoi abbruptly asked, "Are you attendending the field trip tomorrow?!". It was as if Aoi took the words right out of her mouth.

"Only if you're attending it!" says Haruka, wtih an enthusiastic smile. "You... if it turns out that it was a total waste of my time; you'll have to take responsibility...".

"Hahaha!! Of course my dear, Sora! Let's do some hunting together like we used to, if the owner of the territory there is fine with it, that is," Haruka said rather cheerfully; showing a never before seen smile.

"Maybe, b-but I want to do more normal activities with you... it's been so long since we've rented a karaoke room and sang together... I must say; I miss those days, Haruka," Aoi's voice, from being rather shy and stuttery, suddenly became really sad and depressed. Haruka simply smiled at this moment, "My sweet Princess, we shall make merry and memories this field trip,". Aoi replied in a slow tone of speaking, "You better keep your word, idiot."

After being informed about the school field trip, Menolly's mind only wandered further into daydreams. She had a friend this time around, so maybe they could do things together... She shook her head, embarrassed. I'm sure Haruka-san has friends of her own to hang out with, she thought to herself, trying not to get her hopes up. If Haruka was busy, maybe she could visit a library or look for new strings for her guitar. To be honest, Menolly wasn't quite sure what she should do with her time. Tokyo was a big place, though, and she was certain she'd find something to do. Seeing as how the teacher gave the class a bit of free time to discuss the trip and make some plans, Menolly decided to get a breath of fresh air up on the roof. She made her way up the stairs and started to open the door until she heard Haruka's voice; she was talking to someone. Hearing her be so friendly with someone hurt her heart a little, but Menolly shook her head and closed the door again, making her way back to her classroom. It wasn't any of her business, after all, and just earlier she had told herself that Haruka probably had other friends. She didn't have the right to be upset.

The rest of Menolly's day dragged on, but inside the confines of her imagination, the time seemed to melt away. Intricate daydreams of princesses and idols and magical creatures lay before her mind's eye, blurring together every word or problem that was written on the blackboard. Her notebook was open, the pages empty for once. Her pencil was almost falling off of her desk, forgotten. Confused and a bit lost, she couldn't seem to drag herself out of the dreams and decided she was just tired. Soon enough, the bell ending the school day rang, shaking her out of it. Silently, she gathered her things together and left the room, exiting the building and standing outside by the gates.

After Haruka was done with her conversation, she walked towards the door and exited the rooftop. Heading her way to the class, Haruka went down the stairs, and made way. Time passed by as Haruka thought of number of ways to spend time with Sora, her dear old friend. Until suddenly, the thought came to her, slapping her other thoughts off; that she had to go meet Menolly after school. Haruka also needs to tell the terminology behind it all. As she was seen fighting the witch, and Menolly was promised that she'll be told everything known regarding it. After the classes were over, Haruka rushed out of the class, and ran her way out of the building.

When Haruka got out of the building, she looked around. Unable to locate Menolly within her vicinity, she walked toward towards the gate, until finding Menolly outside the gates; standing. Haruka casually went by towards her, and decided to say "Good afternoon, Menolly-chan!".

A bit startled at Haruka's greeting, Menolly jumped but gave the girl a small smile. "Hello, Haruka-san. How were your classes?" She looked down at her shoes, shuffling them together lightly and humming quietly. She wanted to ask Haruka if she had any plans for the field trip... Biting her lip in thought, she decided that she would do so after they talked about what happened yesterday.

"The class? Well, boring as usual, but I have to pay attention in order to keep up anyway... though today I kind of lacked paying attention on class," Haruka said, also looking down. But Haruka then decided to change the gloominess on the air between Menolly and herself, "Anyway! There's a cafe close by too, though a lot of the students from the school goes there, I don't think it'll be a problem unless we're too loud, of course, if you have a favorite cafe you'd like to visit, suggest away, Menolly-chan," Haruka said, with her elegance in tone as always.

After lunch, classes went by the same as always. It was social studies, science, fine arts, and then gym class. Social studies wasn't too difficult, but I ended up spacing out during most of the class, looking outside the window I sat near. Science went the same, and then came the Fine Arts class. The class had to do some sketches of some objects today. I had a horrible time with it. Thankfully, gym class came soon enough. We each went to the locker rooms and changed into our gym clothes. We did some track work, and some high jumping. Pretty basic things, but this time, I tried to keep a low profile. I didn't know how the magic would affect me from when I made my wish. I just remember making the wish and then holding my soul gem in my hands.

The bell rings for the end of school, as I'm in the middle of a high jump. I just barely made it over the bar.

"Ah. Thank God today is over. I wonder if I should meet up with Casa-san or not and hunt witches.", I say to myself as I lay on the mat.

I get up from the mat and change into my regular clothes, and head out from the gate to the Middle school.

After the announcement, Aoi's worried expression had a slight frown included, instead of it wavering, she didn't pay any attention to the classes she attended this time, and surprising enough, she had enough luck to not be called out for reading the text books for any reason by the teachers, either.

All the classes went by as time passed. Just when the break time started after the bells rang; Aoi walked out of the class. Aoi walked faster and faster. Aoi got up the stairs and strolled her way to the bench on the rooftop, taking a seat.

Aoi took out her cellphone, tapped some buttons hastily on her phone, then put it close to her left ear - making a call. Aoi had a small chat with her friend, it's as if she was already having a reunion with her. A never before seen face and expression were made, as she spoke with her.

"You better keep your word, Idiot."

"Of course, milady!"

"And you'll be getting me whatever I want as well, thus paying me back for a lot of things I did for you."

"Yes, Mistress... " Haruka's voice slightly went down in volume at this moment.

"What's with the way of speaking?! You should be honored to be able to serve me!"

"N-Nothing at all!"

"Anyway, did anyone trespassed your territory?"

"No, actually, it's been a long time since someone stepped in here, some Mahou Shoujo and Shounen were born on this city, but they left really soon after I explained the deal about territories. Why do you ask, Sora?"

"Well, I was just curious, I guess. Did Kyubey came to Osaka yet?"

"Nope, I don't really expect him to, but I don't think I'll be surprised if he does, either."

"Well okay then, I'll hang up on you now, if you DON'T come, I'll pay you a visit to simply hunt you down, Haruka."

"Fine by me, sweetheart!"

The morning was the same as always for Usami, nothing much happened until she heard the announcement in class about the upcoming field trip. Usami wasn't sure if she should go, she had to work on those days and she couldn't really afford to miss work. She decided to talk to her manager later to see if she could go; knowing him he would probably let her go. After the announcement, nothing else happened. Classes resumed as usual but now, people started talking about what they should do while on the field trip. When lunch time came, Usami headed towards the library and made a decision to use one of the computers. She wanted to see if there were any places of interest for her. After a bit of searching, Usami's eyes sparkled as she saw the information about the main library in Tokyo. Usami decided in that instant, that even if her manager for some reason said no, she'd go for sure.

Through the rest of the day, Usami couldn't wait for tomorrow. The instant she had a chance to get away, she wanted to head to the library. Though during math class she got yelled at by the teacher. Usami was so lost in thought that she didn't notice she was making faces. Her face was so red she stood up quickly and tried to run out of the class but the instant she got near the door, she tripped and her face slammed into it. When Usami recovered consciousness, she found herself lying on a bed in the nurses office. She didn't knew for how long she was there, all she could remember was that she ran into the door.

After feeling a bit better, Usami left for work. It seemed the hit made her miss the rest of her classes. Once she got to her job, she talked to her manager, and he seemed happy that Usami was interested in going and not just wanting to stay behind for work. After work finished, Usami headed home to start preparing all she would need for the trip. Once she had everything she believed she needed, she headed to bed.

After Aoi hung up, she left the rooftop, then went to the cafeteria to have her lunch. Aoi soon finished having her lunch on a table in the cafeteria, after which she returned to class, only to find her classmates showering her with unwanted attention, as always. Aoi went to her seat and sat down. Aoi didn't feet like speaking with anyone in particular, but the other girls of the class surrounded her regardless. They asked all sorts of questions regarding her job.

Being bombarded with questions, like always. It was a bit more annoying than usual, Aoi was finally in a somewhat good mood after a long while since she spoke to Haruka, but she didn't like how these girls, who knows absolutely nothing about her keeps thinking that they are special for being on the same class as her, and takes advantage of it in every way possible by directly trying to speak to her. Even though she always feels a bit lonely, she just can't get along with these type of highly curious girls.

After putting up with everything and giving out vague answers; lunch break ended, Aoi could then take a sigh of relief, and this time, she had attended the rest of the classes for the day with ease and free of ignorance. Once after school; Aoi left; went to the cafe which was close to the one at which Usami worked at, she thought to herself, "So it's a competition, eh?". Aoi only went to have some ice cream. After having a big parfait, Aoi came out - seemingly refreshed.

Aoi's excellence and elegance stood out amidst of the crowd, as she strolled across the streets, on the shopping district; prying eyes fell over her. The lush green grasses waved by the soft breeze of the wind, creating a serene scene. Aoi sat down, right there, beside the river, far away from that shopping district now. Where the stream of water flew ever so smoothly, where it seemed as though the water would keep flowing forward, forever and ever. And Aoi, kept looking at the river; from afar from where she sat on the grass. in order to freshen her mind more.

Until suddenly, Aoi sensed the malicious air. Aoi's Soul Gem glowed; notifying her of the Witch or a Wizard that haunted the area. Aoi got up, walked out of the grasses to the pavement. Aoi followed the traces; going after the monster. Until she reached an alley; devoid of sunlight. Aoi walked forward on the alley, the light in her Soul Gem got brighter, "The magical residue are high here, meaning the witch was here recently, so I shall reach it shortly from following the trail here," Aoi silently spoke to herself.

Aoi's cellphone vibrated, she took out her cellphone and received the call after taking a slight look at the mobile phone's screen. "What do you want?" she received the call and asked. A maid from Aoi's residence wanted her home since her mother was apparently sick and she wanted her by her side; in order to take care of her, almost immediately, she wouldn't take no for an answer at all. Aoi had no other choice but to let this one go.

Aoi had only hoped that she'd find the monster another day, maybe after coming back from the field trip. As she walked out of the alley and embarked for her home, Aoi took leave of the place. After going home, various events took place, after which, Aoi's day ended, with her taking care of her mother for her sickness.

As Soju head out of the school, her Soul Gem starts glowing, it's green light was quite bright, enough to peak Soju's interest.

"This means that a witch or a wizard is nearby, Soju-san," said Kyubey from afar.

"There's a witch or wizard nearby? How do I find them?", Soju asks Kyubey while staring at her soul gem in her hand.

"By following the trail, of course. The Soul Gem picks up the magical residue left by the witches and wizards. You have to follow them, if the glowing gets birghter and brighter, it means that you're following the correct path.

"Got it,", Soju says as she starts heading down the street.

Kyubey followed after Soju, keeping an eye on her. Soju's Soul Gem stopped glowing after she went in that particular direction.

"Damn. I guess it's the other way around,", Soju says to herself as she turns around.

Soju started running towards where the light in her Soul Gem was brightest, and turning around when it'd stop glowing.

Kyubey sighed, "Some new Mahou Shoujo tend to go the wrong way. It's not there, Soju-san. I'd suggest trying one of the tactics of the smarter Mahou Shoujo. Watch the news, and check whether there has been any accidents, suicide cases and such. Most of these cases are caused by Witches and Wizards, after all.

"I'll take that advise to heart Kyubey. But for now, I don't have much to go on where this Witch or Wizard will be. Could you possibly help me out this one time in finding where the Witch or Wizard is?"

"Very well then, but you must know that relying on me isn't a very good way to do this job sometimes. Since I'll leave you sooner or later. You'll have to learn to hunt properly before I take my leave.

"Okay. I thank you then. After this Witch or Wizard, I'll closely study some of Tokyo's city maps and pay extra attention to any suspicious news. That way I can hunt better."

"Okay then, said Kyubey, who had started walking in another direction now, entering the dark alleys.

Soju followed closely behind Kyubey as he started weaving his way through the dark alleys.

Upon coming out of the alleys after a long walk of taking turns, Kyubey finally led Soju to a what seemed like a basketball field. Though, it was empty and devoid of people. "It should be around here..." said Kyubey, as Soju's Soul Gem blow and blinked brightly.

"So, the Witch or Wizard is here. I remember there being some sort of barrier.

"Not this time.

"Wait. A Witch or Wizard doesn't have to have a barrier?"

"I didn't really mean that, but there are some Witches and Wizards who do that. What I mean is that this one won't have a huge maze for you to search on."

The dimension around Soju automatically changed. What appeared were buildings around her and Kyubey. It seemed like a very normal place, rather than having huge differences to the real world. Cecil's minions appeared before Soju, they crawled towards Soju.

A green light emits from the soul gem and envelops Soju, changing her clothes. After the light dissipated, Soju was wearing a denim vest with a light green shirt and ascot, a mini-skirt with garterbelts connected to long green stockings. She also had long green gloves on her hands and arms, and a headband on her head where her soul gem rested, in the shape of rose petals, on the right side. A staff also appeared in Soju's right hand, made of black ivory with white scrawlings, and a triangular head, which had six resting chimes.

Soon after, from the pot; white long heads came out - they looked similar to a snake - and reached out for Soju, after the huge bush grew out from the street, seemingly filled with leaves and spikes. "Those are the minions of the Witch, Soju-san," Kyubey said, it seems that he's very calm about this.

"Heh. They should be easy then."

Soju starts twirling the staff, emitting a soft green glow as it spins. The ground starts to break open as hundreds of green roses start growing. Soju then hits the staff into the ground, rooting it, and starts to dance. Bringing her arms upward in a motion of praying, she starts going through the basic ritual dances that help ward spirits. With each motion of her body, the rose petals fall off of the flowers, and start to dance in the air, as if being moved by a wind that wasn't there. As all of the petals fall off of the roses, Soju recites a name.

"Ventus Smaragdus."

Each of the petals now race towards the minions, as if playing. Each petal slices into the minions, cutting them and killing them.

The barrier suddenly started disappearing, and the envorinment returned to normal. "The Witch is running away, you have to give it a chase!"

"That coward.", Soju says as she starts running after the Witch. Soju's Soul Gem stopped glowing on the next second, "I think you're taking the wrong direction, again.

"Damn it! Why can't I tell where she's heading!", Soju says as she turns around. "Just follow me!", said Kyubey. Soju ran after Kyubey.

As Soju followed Kyubey, Soju's Soul Gem started to glow once again, but faintly. "It seems that the Witch is fast at running away."
Kyubey took a turn to the dark alley, once again, but came across a fence. Kyubey jumped over it, and moved on. Soju's Soul Gem was now emiting some light. "I don't care where this Witch runs to. I'm going to chase her down.", Soju says as she jumps over the fence after Kyubey.

Kyubey ran to a deadend on the alleys, Soju's Soul Gem shined brightly, and a gate lay before both Kyubey and Soju. "Seems like we finally found her, Kyubey said after running inside the gate.

"Perfect. Now I can teach this coward a lesson about trying to run away.", Soju says as she heads in after Kyubey.

The same environment appears once again with buildings surrounding Kyubey and Soju, not too different from where they previously were, just that hugely tall buildings surrounded them on all directions. The Witch could be seen walking sideways on the buildings high above. Cecil could be seen looking down on Soju.

"I take it that this is the Witch. Not too scary, but not impresive. Not now anyways.", Soju says the last part to herself. "How can I get up there to her. Maybe I can try to jump up towards her. Murus Spinas.", Soju says as she shoves the end of the staff into the ground at the base of the building. Branches of thorns start growing on the building, running about halfway up, and creating some very small places to land on. Soju takes her staff out of the ground, and starts jumping up the wall of thorns as it is still partially forming.

The Witch of taste; Cecil starts running down towards Soju. Cecil then jumped and landed on the thorny branches, but her right leg landed directly on a thorn, having her leg damaged already. Cecil's arms srung towards Soju from her back, in an attempt to attack her.

"Murus Spinas.", Soju says as she touches the thorn branches, promoting a small wall to grow up in front of her, the direction in which the hands are coming from. Cecil's hands hits the new grown wall of thorns and her hands gets stuck on the thorns, too.

"Ventus Smaragdus.", Soju says as she starts dancing again. The petals from the roses on the thorn branches start falling off, and racing at the Witch, cutting her in mutiple spots, and creating giant wounds from multiple petals hitting over and over until Cecil fell to the ground. The environment started returning to normal, and the Grief Seed fell from above before Soju.

"That's the Witch's Grief Seed, take it!" said Kyubey. As Soju grabs up the Grief Seed, she states, "So this is a Grief Seed. How do I use it, or know if I need to use it?"

"You use it by sticking it to your Soul Gem; bringing it close to your Soul Gem works, too. You use it when your Soul Gem gets dark and shows signs of impurities. Your Soul Gem is not as bright as it was sometime ago, right?", Kyubey asked.

A small flash of light appears and Soju transforms into her previous clothes. She brings out her Soul Gem, which is indeed darker than it was before. "So, I just bring it close, like this?", Soju says as she brings the Grief Seed closer to her Soul Gem. A pack of seemingly black smoke transfers to the Grief Seed from the Soul Gem right in front of Soju's eyes. "Wow. That's interesting. Are we able to use these more than once?"

"Depends on how much impurities transfers. You can use this Grief Seed once more, after that; feeding it any more impurities will be dangerous, after all, Grief Seeds are Witch and Wizards' eggs.
"Okay. I take it, that after the second transfer, I need to dispose of the Grief Seed in some way."

"Just give it to me after you use it!", said Kyubey. "Okay. Now we need to go back home.", Soju says as she starts heading in the direction of home.

Kyubey decides to follow Soju and starts walking behind her.



After some time, Soju and Kyubey return home. "I'm home. I'll be in my room.", Soju says to Casa-san's mother without waiting for a reply. As she enter's her room, she pulls out some various maps of Tokyo and sets about studying them all night, to which she promptly falls asleep at the desk after some hours of studying.

((OCC: Then typos in the mumbled line are intentional. And sorry for taking it so long to post. School is annoying these days. Really annoying.))

Casashian arrived home at 10 AM while she was half asleep due to the uncomfortable sleeping position , only to be immediately greeted by her mom with a smile on her face, but not feeling entirely happy because Casashian had came this late back home.

"Welcome home my dear! I guess you aren't going to school today , ehh? That isn't a good thing Casashian-san. As a punishment you will be grounded for the rest of the day. You must stay in your room till dusk but if you don't behave you will help me do the chores , cook and perhaps you could explain me how did your hair grew this quick?." she lectured her daughter ending with a problematic question.

Sighting Casashian nodded saying "Y-yes mom right away." and went upstairs towards her room. When she arrived she quickly changed into another casual clothing while she obsessively seeking for an idea how to answer that particular question.

"What shall I do? I can't say anything about Kyubei or these events , neither I should lie.. I've done it just once and I didn't liked it , neither did my mom I think. I could say that it just grew normally but who would believe that?" she though as she started to clean the room starting from the floor towards the desk.

As she was nearly finished with her desk she came up with an idea while looking at a pair of scissors. "This... This isn't a good idea... But its the most reasonable one.." she whispered.

With a few hesitations she locked herself inside the bathroom grabbed a towel while she was sitting in front of the mirror and she started to cut her hair. After 10 minutes of rigorous cutting Casashian had had her hair cut at the same length as she had before. Then she quickly cleans the towel putting the cut hair inside the garbage bin preparing to face her mam. Before exiting she looked herself at the mirror feeling quite happy about the outcome , even though the hair wasn't stylish or anything out of the ordinary.

While still being grounded she returned to her room and begun to study and think how she can be more feminine , occasionally checking herself in the mirror. She started with posture maintaining an authoritative one , similar to the queens in different movies , followed by different meaningless lessons based on gossip.

At dusk Casashian came down trying to avoid the question about her hair , even though her problem got fixed she didn't want to bring it up , she had silently prepared the table serving herself and her mom. As Casashian was putting the last plate on the table Soju came back home , greeding us , and rudely she went upstairs.

Casashian's mom feeling powerless in face of Soju's behavior sights and takes her sit on the table near Casashian and asked "So.. What happened with your hair? Now its short , and not only its about its lenghth , its about the quality of the haircut. Did something happened? Give a straight honest answer." she ordered Casashian while she was eating the food.

Casashian panicked as her face turned red and tried to respond fluently "W-w-well I-i bouowed a wig b-because I n-needed it fou my c-cwub" she mumbled while having food in her mouth.

Casashian's mom nodded in agreement while still suspecting her intentions , and after a few bites she asked again looking half worried and half angry at Casashian "And what about your haircut's quality?"

Casashian immediately choked and started to cought. After a few moments she answered "Does it look bad mom? I made it myself a yesterday at the hospital with Soju." she spoke hoping that that lie would slip by unoticed.

Casashian's mom sighted sadly giving up on the interrogation by rising up to clean the dishes ignoring Casashian's presence.

As the dinner came towards the end Casashian went upstairs changed into her pijamas and went to sleep without catching up on her studies.

Menolly noticed the change in Haruka's demeanor. She furrowed her brows in confusion, but answered her quietly, "No, any of them is fine," with a small smile. Anywhere they went would be fine with her, honestly - besides getting answers, Menolly also just wanted to spend time with the girl. "What direction is the closest one?"

"To the right! C'mon girl, let's go!" Haruka started walking, quite fast, too, perhaps it was due to the exictement for tomorrow that she acted this way, but she couldn't help it either. Haruka expected Menolly to be right behind her, as they already closed in on the cafe which was close to the shopping district.

At seeing Haruka's speedy walk off in the direction of the cafe, Menolly quickly padded to keep up with her. She saw the cafe the other girl must have been talking about and smiled; it was rather charming. She was actually surprised she didn't know about it, as she loved places like this.

Haruka hastily strolled her way into the cafe. Seems like they were having a special day there. It was a maid cafe; all the employed maids were dressed up as butlers, in order to attract female customers. "I know it! They dressed up as butlers today!" Haruka spoke to herself, as she walked her way to a table, led by one of the maids.

At seeing the maids dressed as butlers, Menolly's face flushed pink and she looked down at her shoes while she followed Haruka to their table. When seated, she stared at the tablecloth and tried to distract herself. She has always wanted to work at a place like this, with such cute outfits... On the outside, it may look as if she was attracted to the maids themselves, but Menolly was a closet lover of certain styles of clothing. "Would you like to order anything, Haruka-san? Cake, tea?" she smiled softly, looking up at her friend with sparkling eyes, "My treat."

"I'd definitely like to order cake. I'm tired of having tea anyway. Since there's a lot of tea ceremonies at home... And wait what?! I-It should be my treat since I'm the one who suggested to come here, Menolly-chan," Haruke tried to convince Menolly. Perhaps Haruka doesn't like to be treated by others, as being from the upper society, she only likes to give treats to others.

Her smile growing wider, she shook her head in disagreement, "I'll have to politely decline, Haruka-san, I want this time to be my treat. If we ever go out again, maybe I'll let you treat me," she lightly teased, giggling. She wanted to show her gratitude to her new friend in some way... Haruka had already done so much for her. Opening up to her, being her friend, and now she was even going to let Menolly in on the strange things that had happened. Resting her chin on her hand, she hummed a tune quietly.

"Fine! Just this once... I'll let you do whatever you want to," Haruka replied, pouting. Haruka then sighed, as if to compose herself, "Anyway, do you want me to get started with the explanation?"

Menolly nodded, giving her full attention to the girl before her. She quietly told their maid her order and folded her hands in her lap, looking over at Haruka patiently.

Haruka took another breath, a deep one this time. "Very well then, allow me to begin. I am a Mahou Shoujo, charged with the duty to hunting down monsters called 'Witches' and 'Wizards' who roam about in the darkness, that monster you saw me fighting was a Witch. And it was my duty to kill it since it brings about problems to this world," Haruka stopped for a moment, but then continued, "We Mahou Shoujo and even Mahou Shounen make contracts with Kyubey first. Kyubey is the reason why we fight, as his contract states that we'll have to go down a fate of combat. Kyubey will grant you any wish, the sky's the limit, after which, you'll be turned into a Mahou Shoujo. There's no real reward for what you do, it's a simple exchange, he offers you a miracle and you have to pay back by fighting for the rest of your life. I guess the only reward can be gaining the Grief Seeds after you kill a Witch or a Wizard, though the Grief Seeds don't always pop out of them. It is important and necessary, but I don't like to think of it as a real reward, at least not something for which anyone would usually praise you. It's meant more for your powers, as it cleans the impurities from our Soul Gems, renewing your magical powers and sometimes even makes your powers greater. Speaking of Soul Gems... "

Haruka showed her Soul Gem, by having the ring on the middle finger of her left hand transformed into the white Soul Gem. "This is called a Soul Gem. It's the source of a Mahou Shoujo's powers, and it's like an insignia to us sometimes. In fact, I can't imagine what would happen if I lose this; it'd be a crisis!" Haruka exclaimed after having her Soul Gem turn into the ring again. A strange inscription could be seen on the ring.

Upon seeing Haruka's Soul Gem, Menolly's eyes widened with disbelief. She kept quiet, studying the ring and trying to take in all of the new information she was being given. She nodded along to Haruka's explanation, listening intently.

Haruka continued with her speech, "And the clothes you saw me fighting with; that's what I transform into usually for battle. It's kind of embarrassing to show sometimes, as it's kind of like a wedding dress... Though I guess that is a manifestation of what I wanted to wear long ago... By the way, this might be a frightening fact or a delightful one at the same time - depending on the individual - but you must know that if we are careful enough, we Mahou Shoujo and Shounen can live for centuries," Haruka said while smiling, she then continued to asking, "Any questions?"

Another interesting and unbelievable bit of information, Menolly thought to herself. Although she did indeed believe the girl and had no doubts about what she was being told, it was still quite a strange thing to be introduced to. She kept quiet for a moment after Haruka's inquiry, letting the gears of her mind turn and make everything click together. She set her hands on the table, fiddling with her fingers out of nervous habit and chewed on her lower lip. "Who or what is Kyubey, Haruka-san?" She finally asked.

"Good question. Kyubey is a strange creature; his appearance can be compared to a cat... or a fox. He has a tail. Two long and soft ears with encircled yellow rings and has round red eyes. He never opens his mouth and always speaks through telepathy. He has strange powers, his ears can sometimes go through human flesh if he wants them to. And he's known to always going around either looking for children who'd want to make a contract with him, or helping and guiding other Mahou Shoujo and Shounen in order to help them. Sometimes he can be a bit annoying as he can ask about making a contract with him repeatedly if you're not normal human," explained Haruka.

Menolly nodded, biting her lip more. "Where does he come from?"

"I'm not really sure, he has never really revealed such informations. Perhaps Aoi knows."

She quirked her head to the side, asking another question, "Who is Aoi? Are they something like Kyubey?"

[size=12]"Hahaha!", Haruka laughed out, taking everyone's attention for a slight moment. "She'd get angry if she heard that. Have you heard of the famous model named Aoyama Aoi? That's who I'm talking about, she's a legandary Mahou Shoujo; famous among other Mahou Shoujo and Shonen too. Known to be one of most strongest ones out there and a long time friend of mine as well. You'll probably meet her tomorrow on the school trip," Haruka answered.

Menolly was startled by Haruka's laugh; despite her initial shock, she couldn't help but smile along with her. "Actually I have, considering my sister's also a model," she started, "But I never would have expected she was a mahou shoujo... Oh, you two are friends?" Menolly bit her lip. "Oh, right, the field trip... I was wondering, Haruka-san, if you had any plans for it?!" she sputtered nervously, her cheeks flushing pink.

Haruka tried to kept to her laughter down but ended up laughing again, "Oh! My stomach... my stomach hurts now!" she just couldn't stop herself. After a moment, Haruka managed to get her composure back, "I do have plans, Menolly-chan. But I think you don't have any plans. So I was thinking for some time; about having you tag along with us, if you don't mind, that is. Though I'm confident that it'll be a lot of fun this way, what do you say, Menolly-chan?" Haruka asked with a smile to the other girl. Confident that Menolly would accept the kind and fun-filled offer.

She couldn't help but chuckle along with the other girl; her laughter was infectious. "I'm glad I could make you laugh," Menolly said honestly, stifling a few more giggles. She listened to Haruka, considering her offer quietly. There really was no reason to refuse, it sounded like a lot of fun. Maybe she could even get along decently with Aoi. After a moment, Menolly nodded, smiling, "That sounds great! I'd love to hang out with you guys for a while if it's alright, Haruka-san." Despite her initial feeling of sadness at being alone on the field trip, Menolly's heart filled with so much warmth that it seemed as if she'd never felt down in the first place.

"Then it's decided then, the three of us will be having fun together in this field trip. Now don't ditch on us, okay?" Haruka gave her usual smile, at the end of speaking her final sentence, she gave a wink. Haruka spoke again, "Do you have some free time to spare today? If you want to, you may accompany me as I hunt some Witches and Wizards tonight. And don't worry about whatever danger, I'll protect you!", Haruka said, raising her arm in excitment.

She smiled and nodded, giggling, "Don't worry, I won't ditch you." She averted her eyes with a pout at the other girl's wink. She listened as her friend began to speak again; Menolly's eyes widened at Haruka's offer. Tagging along as she hunted witches and wizards? Was that even allowed? "Is that even allowed?" she blurted out unconsciously, bringing her fingers to her lips after she asked. "S-sorry," she apologized, "I'd love to go with you, I just don't want to get you into any trouble or break any rules I might not know about or something," Menolly explained.

Haruka smiled at Menolly, "Hahaha, yes, it's allowed. In fact, there's no rule regarding something like this anyway. Kyubey doesn't really seem to care if a Mahou Shoujo intentionally gets a human involved, it seems. And no need to apologize," after she spoke, she giggled and took out her cellphone and took a peek at the time. "When can you come out at night?" she said, "I prefer to hunt at night you see, it's better to do so since there are hardly any people around other than the ones who gets the kisses of the Witches and Wizards."

"Kisses of Witches and Wizards?" Menolly inquired in confusion. "And I can come out at any time; I only need to let my sister know that I'll be out, since she's visiting me currently," she explained, resting her chin on her hands again.

"Those are what you'll see on the bodies of the people possessed by the Witches or Wizards. They do this to lure people to their area in order to devour them. You'll usually find the kiss mark on one's neck or somewhere around the neck. And wait, your sister is paying you a visit? You live alone?" Haruka seemed to be a bit worried now.

Listening to Haruka's explanation of the kisses, Menolly felt a chill run down her back in slight fear. D-devour them...? she thought to herself, biting her lip. "O-oh. That seems scary... Oh, yes, I do! Why do you ask?" she tilted her head curiously.

"Well... it leads me into thinking that you live alone normally. Do you usually live alone, Menolly-chan?" Haruka asked, no smiles could be seen on her face now.

Menolly nodded to Haruka's question, "Yes, I do."

"Oh my... A-Anyway! I'll be taking my leave now. Let's meet tonight. I'll text you the information as to where we can meet... wait, I still don't have your cellphone number now do I? I must ask of you to lend me your cellphone number, Menolly-chan!"

Confused at Haruka's sudden nervousness, Menolly bit her lip in concern but decided to let it go. She instead smiled reassuringly at her friend and wrote down her mobile number on a napkin, doodling a little chibi of herself underneath grinning. She stood, pushing in her chair and bowing to the girl across from her. "This was nice, Haruka-san; thank you for spending time with me and telling me about Mahou Shoujo. I look forward to your message!" Menolly smiled brightly, pulling some money out of her wallet and leaving some on the table with the check.

Haruka took a look at the napkin at which Menolly wrote and drew and saved Menolly's cellphone number. Sweat ran down at the back of her head as she gave a faint smile at the smaller version of Menolly drawn,"I-It's cute, I must say... " she thought out loud. She responded after hearing Menolly's words, "You're welcome. By the way, I was accidentally thinking of making the payment, I kind of forgot that it was your treat... hahahaha! I'm so very forgetful sometimes! Anyway, I'll message you soon. And now, I shall bid farewell, see you later!" said Haruka, as she exited the cafe after waving slightly at Menolly.

Menolly waved after Haruka, smiling as she turned away to the other side of the road. She double-checked to make sure she had her bag, then started her walk home. Thinking over all of the information she'd been given, Menolly wondered if it was actually such a magical thing to be a Mahou Shoujo. It seemed appealing at first, but the other things she'd been told slightly put her off... She shook her head, giggling, It's not like I'd ever have that chance anyway! she thought, I'm not special like Haruka, or this Aoi girl. I guess I'll just have to make my dreams come true the old fashioned way - not that that's bad. Menolly began humming, her thoughts taking a rest from Witches and Haruka until later.

I wonder where we should meet up... Hmm, now that I remember yesterday night's news, several people died in that one hospital yesterday for unknown causes and the doctors were blamed. Perhaps that's a pretty good hint for me. Okay. It's decided. I'll have her meet up with me somewhere close to the hospital, Haruka thought to herself as she walked along the pavement on her way home.

Reaching her apartment, Menolly opened the door and walked inside. Her TV was turned on, Yuiko curled up on the couch with a bag of candy. She facepalmed, running behind the couch and messing up her older sister's hair, Yuiko yelling in protest. She took the bag of candy and put it in her school bag, sticking her tongue out at the brunette. "Menoooo! Give me back my damn candy!" Yuiko screeched, pouting. She walked over to Menolly and stomped her foot on the floor in a tantrum. "No way, Yuiko-nee! You'll lose your model figure~" she teased, being chased around by Yuiko. They played for a bit and then settled on the couch together, watching old horror movies. Menolly put her phone on vibrate, setting it on her lap in case Haruka texted her during the movie.

Haruka typed her message from her room on her cellhphone. Ticking sounds could be heard throughout the room. Haruka read the message quietly out to herself, "I've decided, we'll meet up tonight at 9:00 pm sharp in the park which comes before Nishi-Gunma hospital," after which. It was already past six on the clock. Haruka got off her bed and walked downstairs after leaving her room.

Info: Yuki wasn’t actually born in Japan, but the United States. It was 8 A.M. in the morning and Yuki Amano had just woken up, the 6’0 blond hated his noisy alarm clock but hey, it got him up. He kept hitting his hand against the drawer softly, hoping to hit the bell to shut the thing off and he finally hit it.

Yawning, as he got up to brush his teeth and take a shower and getting dressed in a dress jacket with some jeans, you’d think he was just a normal teenager living on his own. But you’d be wrong, far from it. His eyes clench in anger and his fists shortly followed.

Today was the fifth anniversary of his mother and father disappearing before him, and then news of their deaths. But there were no leads, no suspects and no one claimed so much as to even see them! He knew it was a conspiracy of some kind, but what?

He looked all over Japan for the answers, and he couldn’t find anything….. His suitcase was on the floor, he kicked it up and then grabbed it from behind. Today was his first day of Tokyo High and he was looking forward to it. Last he heard, it was just a few days before a field trip. †˜I’m quite lucky, perhaps in such an open field like a trip I’ll be able to get any kind of answers I can.’

As he walked through the gates, most of the girls were swooning to him, squealing and asking them to call for his name, he waved politely at them and continued walking thinking to himself: †˜I want a woman for a long-term relationship but could they realize that swooning all over a guy doesn’t exactly appease him, at least not in the long-term.’

He made it to homeroom and he waited outside as their teacher introduced him. “We have a new classmate today, a foreign exchange student born in America. Please welcome Yuki Amano-kun.” I stood in front of the chalkboard and I bowed respectfully, surprising most that despite the masculine choice of clothes that I was polite. “Yuki-Kun, please take a seat.”

He took a seat to the wall, next to the window where he could see the sun shine. He sighed, ever since he was a child and even as a teenager up until the days his parents died he was taught about how to respect nature and how to love it. The Amano Family was relatively powerful despite it’s small stature, but with his parents death……No way a 16 year old could carry on their legacy and so, the Amano name was all but forgotten and taunted. At least in America, he didn’t know if the Japanese had any such info or gossip about his troubles. He hoped not, anyway….. His eyes had the look of someone mourning his loss, as well as mystified at the world at large as if the world wasn’t his own.

And so the boring day went for Yuki, Math, PE, Science, etc. He wasn't what you called a genius but he wasn't half bad either. Basically, when the teacher calls on you for answers and not for lecturing you, that's a good day in any student's books. He has those days more often then not.

It was noon and so it was time for lunch, ignoring all of the "Yuki-Sama's" from the well meaning but annoying fangirls, Yuki Amano went down to the cafeteria and he went to the back of the line, even if Yuki could get there faster he wouldn't want to. He was, by nature a Yandere and he liked it and he probably would always stay that way.

It wasn't all pretty roses for Yuki though, a few prestigous members of society attending Tokyo High glared sneers at him and he knew why. The Amano family was headed by his mother and father, both of whom rose their way from poverty to near the top of the chain and were well respected by elite members of society as truly deserving of their status.

And so, even with their deaths those same members expected him to hold the fort, to keep the Amano family and it's prestige and tradition high and he simply couldn't. Even with high quality education and excellent teachers, it was just too much for a 17 year old to bare. And so, he collasped under the weight and the results are those glares.

Along with the death of his parents, the rejection by family members and people whom he once called friends pushed him into a corner, until one day he fatefully decided....

"I won't be friends with anyone! I won't depend on anybody, I won't open my heart
to anyone...and that way I won't lose...."

He took his bento lunch box and he sat next to the window, looking out to the sunshine. There are times where he wonders whether making the transformation into a heartless Yandere was the right one, but then he remembers the pain of rejection and loss and clenches his shirt.....No, Yuki he thought to himself, never again....Don't let yourself be taken advantage of again! Just then, as his thoughts intensified, a fellow classmate came over to sit at his table and said rather nonchalantly "I don't know what your attitude problem is, but don't take it out on others."

He smirked and closed his eyes at the teenage male and puffed. "I don't care what you or anyone else thinks, I'm here to study, get good grades and then go home. So why don't you buzz off?" The teenage male would sigh and shake his head and looked at him. "I used to be like you, once..." This made cause for another hysterical laugh, like that of Rena from Hirugashi No Naku Ni. "You, like me? Don't make me laugh. You, nor anyone else knows of my hurt, my pain, my suffering. And yet you claim that you do, and judge me in the process. That's quite arrogant of you" Yuki said defensively of himself as he continued to eat and drink his lunch.

"You're right, I don't know you. But that's because you don't allow anyone to know you." "Allow someone...to know me?" "That's right, you'll never be able to overcome your pain without letting others know your pain. And also coming to know the pain of others. Everyone at this school, is secretly hurting and fighting challenges of their own. But they let each other know of their challenges and face them together. Yuki, you won't be able to overcome your challenges alone. But your classmates are here for you, if you let them."


The Bell rings and it signals the end of the school day and everyone can't wait to get out. The air is filled with "See you later/tommorow." And even talks of going to dates and parties. As for him, he carries his suitcase over his back as he begins to walk back to his flat. "If I let my classmates know of my pain...They can help me?" He looks over his shoulder, so badly wanting to tell the others and wanting to become their friend....but! He looked down sadly and hesitantly and was nervous deep down inside as he walked home to his flat.


He then opens the door to his flat and yells out "I'm home!"...
"As if someone will hear me!" He exclaimed as he switched into his PJ'S and he
hugged his pillow. "But being lonely forever, isn't much of a life....Maybe there's someone out there one day to replace this hurt..." He fell to sleep on the thought of perhaps one day meeting a lover.....

End Day.

During one of the parts of the movie that had her sister clinging onto her for dear life, Menolly's phone vibrated and her hand shot out for it, ignoring Yuiko's inquiry as to who it was. She read the message silently and smiled, closing her phone after checking the time. It was now eight o'clock - she should probably start getting ready. Menolly nervously told her sister, "My friend Haruka-san wants me to come over, she said it was important," fidgeting and burning with guilt for lying. But what was she supposed to tell her, that she was going out to meet Haruka at a creepy hospital at night? Yuiko bit her lip, visibly unimpressed by Menolly's explanation. "Well, you are old enough to make your own decisions now. I'm not your guardian anymore." At Menolly starting to protest, she continued, "Even so, you are still my little sister and I want you to know that I will be worried. You will be careful, Menolly. You will have your cellphone on you and answer me if I text or call. Do you understand?" She ended her firm rant with a worried tone. Menolly nodded quickly, getting a smile from Yuiko. "Also, Meno? ...I'm glad you've made a friend."

Haruka walked her way to the park before the hospital. It was almost 9 pm now and she wanted to come early and wait for Menolly. Her Soul Gem already started glowing, signifying a Witch or a Wizard's activities around the area, most probably the hospital. Haruka walked to a bench within the park and took a seat; waiting for Menolly to appear.

Getting closer to their meeting point, Menolly could see Haruka's Soul Gem glowing faintly from a small distance. She jogged over to the other girl and gave her a friendly smile. "Good evening."

"Good evening to you too, tonight I hunt a Witch or a Wizard right before your eyes. You'll be my guest. And I shall protect you as I show you what a Mahou Shoujo can really be capable of. Seems that our target is somewhere around the hospital, or within. We'll have to find out soon. Make sure that you're able to keep up with me and not get lost. Always follow and keep track of me until I say otherwise, okay?" Haruka said as if she was Menolly's guardian for tonight, really caring and almost motherly.

Menolly listened closely to Haruka's instructions, nodding along. She knew that this was important and rather dangerous, and she didn't want to get in Haruka's way. "You've got it," she smiled.

Haruka started walking her way to the hospital, just like last time, she had expected Menolly to be following behind her. The hospital closed in on their views. The Soul Gem glowed brighter. [#0000A0]"Let's check the hospital out first!"[/color] said Haruka, somewhat enthusiastic. She ran into the hospital then waited for Menolly to enter behind her.

She nodded to Haruka's suggestion, running into the hospital after Haruka.

Walking forward towards the elevator, Haruka's Soul Gem glowed brighter and brighter. Haruka entered the elevator along with Menolly. Weirdly enough; the a gate appeared before Haruka within the elevator!

"This is the gate to the world of the monster I'm going to be hunting tonight. This gate is something that I've created with the powers of my Soul Gem in order to enter the barrier. Before you ask, Witches and Wizards creates a barrier around them, always. Unless a certain Witch or a Wizard is truly powerful enough to not require one, then they'd roam around freely, causing a massacre. Anyway, if you go around with all sorts of Mahou Shoujo and Shounen, you'll see everyone entering barriers in their own style. Some like to simply slice a path to the inside of the barriers, though," Haruka gave an explanation, making it as educational as possible.

Menolly, once again, listened closely to Haruka's explanations, filing away the information to pick at later.

Haruka walked down the long stairway. It was simply a straight and long stairway that didn't have any safety handles. The whole environment seemed void and empty, only dark blue. A really gloomy background. Suddenly, a maniacal laughter could be heard. "Did you hear that just now, Menolly-chan?! The voice was that of a male... meaning that we have a Wizard at hand this time," Haruka announced after asking.

Startled by the laughter, Menolly grabbed onto Haruka's arm and squeaked. "Ah--ahaha, s-sorry. A Wizard, huh?" She let go and looked around at the dark area.

"It''s okay, it's kind of natural for you to be scared."

Haruka ran down the stairs instead of walking now, as the laughing fits continued throughout the dark place. They ran until finally reaching the end and going through a door, above the door was what that seemed like a sign which wrote "Research Room", it was faintly lit in white light.

Rats, bigger than even cats could be seen scurrying around the room, "Are these what they call.... lab rats?!" Haruka thought out loud. She then chuckled, thinking that she made a joke, she then suddenly put her hands on her mouth and then whispered to Menolly, "We have to be as silent as possible so as to not get the rats' attentions,". The room had tubes filled with blue fluids floating in the air. The room was darker than the previous place they found themselves within the barrier. Haruka slowly walked with Menolly to the exit to the room, still not noticed by the big rats.

With a hand clamped over her own mouth, Menolly followed Haruka out of the Research Room, trying hard not to stop and stare at all of the different things in it.

"That was a bad joke, wasn't it... ?" she looked back at Menolly as she said so, looking a little sad.

"It wasn't bad, Haruka-san. But I do feel a little sad for them..."

[size=12]Haruka looked around. It was a weird room, there was one operating table where a strange looking insect was being dissected by a huge insect with a somewhat human shape... wearing a labcoat. The Wizard's skin was brown and had a horn, "It's like an ugly version of unicorn, except that the insect-ish face makes me think otherwise. Stay back now, Meno-" when Haruka looked back, red glowing eyes from the shadows stared at both Menolly and Haruka, it turned out that they were completely surrounded. The Wizard cut the head of the insect he was experimenting with, and threw it at Haruka, it was quite big; Haruka had to use her weapon to deflect it to another direction.

Menolly struggled not to make a sound once again; she bit her lip hard and slowed down her breathing. She trusted Haruka and kept close to her, trying not to make much of a sound. At hearing Haruka's voice, she felt a small sense of relief wash over her. If she was willing to talk, even a little, things couldn't be so bad. However, the red eyes staring at them startled her beyond belief and her knees wobbled a little. She flinched as the insect's head flew at them but held her ground, believing in her friend more than she was afraid.

"I've changed my mind... you'll have to stick to me in here as well, since the minions are everywhere. It's going to be dangerous to leave you alone now, Menolly-chan, anyway, let's deal with this, shall we?!", Haruka then continously materialized many conjoined blades and threw them in all directions, one by one, so as to affect the rats. She then materialized one final conjoined blades and threw them at the Wizard. The Wizard blocked it with it's hand. But then White electric shocks spurred out of the blade and it's hand was paralyzed, "Heh! I thought that it'd do that, now his arm is paralyzed!" Haruka spoke out, after charging. "Stay there Menolly-chan! The rats shouldn't appear now due to my attack!" Haruka said while running and looking back at Menolly at the same time.

She watched the beginning of the fight with wide eyes - the blades, the electric shocks, the fast movements... even though she'd seen them before, Menolly was once again amazed at how strong Haruka really was. While drinking tea with the other girl, giggling over silly things and talking about their field trip, it was hard to see her being like this. She didn't find it bad, not at all, just surprising. After Haruka said his arm was paralyzed, Menolly gave a cheer and smiled. She stayed in the same place like she was told and took a deep breath, closing her eyes. Everything is fine, she told herself.

When Haruka looked forward, her eyes widened, she saw the Wizard using it's other arm about to clobber her head. And it succeeded in doing so. Haruka fell to the floor, after which, the Wizard was about to stomp Haruka, with it's light-green glowing eyes, looking down at her.

When Menolly opened her eyes, she watched, horrified, as the Wizard knocked Haruka to the ground. A saddened yell ripped through her throat and she stepped forward, reaching her arm out as if she wanted to go and help the other girl. But she stayed in place like she was told... she believed in Haruka.

When the Wizard stomped Haruka; it's foot went through Haruka's body due to her magic Spirit Leaping and hit the floor hard, and was hurt from hitting the floor too hard. Another conjoined blade materialized under Haruka's arm, she got up and smiled, as her blade cut off the Wizard's able arm after a swing. She then stabbed the Wizard. "It's my win, it seems!"

Menolly smiled slightly, relieved once more. She knew Haruka would win.

The Wizard smiled and looked at Haruka; she widened her eyes and jumped back after the Wizard released green gas from it's mouth, it's other arm recovered and it took hold of scissors. Haruka stepped back a little bit, and spoke to Menolly, "Hold your breath now! We won't know what will happen if you breathe that strange looking gas in!" Haruka warned.

Menolly listened and immediately held her breath, glaring hard at the recovered Wizard. Anger burned in her belly, but she knew she could do nothing.

A white aura appeared around Haruka, then she charged dead straight at the Wizard, and fought tooth and nail with the Wizard, their weapons clashed many times.

After successively blocking one of the Wizard's attacks, Haruka put some of her magic on her blades and swung her conjoined swords, breaking the scissors away. Haruka then grabbed the handle at the center of the conjoined blades with her other hand and then gave a spin - with each of her spins, the ends of the blades sliced one part from the Wizard each time; eventually slaying it.

The world around Haruka and Menolly now dossolved, Haruka sighed and fell on her knees; tired. The Soul Gem slowly came down to the floor before Haruka.

Releasing her held breath, Menolly ran over to Haruka and kneeled down with her. She rubbed her back in comfort and smiled gently at her. "I'm so glad you're alright," she said sincerely. She looked at the Soul Gem and back to Haruka. What a wonderfully odd world she's finding herself falling into. But Menolly didn't really mind. Not if she had at least one person beside her.

Haruka sighed, "Haaa.... what am I doing showing myself to be so weak in front of my friend?", she stood up and tried to act as though she was fine, and continued, "Thank you for accompanying me tonight, Menolly-chan,". When Haruka looked at her Soul Gem, she realized that it was quite dark this time. She immediately picked the Grief Seed that lay before her and placed it before her Soul Gem. Black small clouds transferred to the Grief Seed and Haruka's Soul Gem seemed much more brighter and whiter now.

"Next lesson. These are what I've mentioned to you about before at the cafe. This is a Grief Seed. We Mahou Shoujo and Shounen use these to purify our Soul Gems off of the darkness it accumulates after we use our magics."

Menolly bit her lip, hating to see her friend in pain. "What exactly is a Grief Seed, Haruka-san?" she asked quietly, worried about her.

"What do you mean? Have I not explained it to you before? I'm pretty sure that I did... it's the reward I was speaking of. THe reward that isn't really much of a reward, hahaha!" she said, even though her voice sounded rather rusty from tiredness. Haruka smiled. "Let's go home now, shall we?" lights trailed off of Haruka, as her clothes returned to normal. She had then decided to part with Menolly for the night.

Not getting a direct answer, Menolly bit her lip in concern but decided she'd ask about it another day. She said her goodnight to Haruka and went home, tired. She slipped into her futon beside Yuiko and quickly drifted off to sleep, dreaming of constellations and love.
