Dancing around the place, Fuyuko was extremely excited to go out shopping with Misaki. She hadn't realised how nerve wracking it would be to walk down the second year classrooms' corridor until she was physically there herself. Fuyuko couldn't help but notice the many curious glances of others wondering why a first year would be there. Getting Misaki's attention was the most difficult task of all. Standing near the doorway, Fuyuko had mustered all her courage just to ask whether she could talk to Shokuhou Misaki. Thankfully, a kind looking girl asked the sea of groupies surrounding Misaki to part, giving Fuyuko a chance to suggest going shopping.
Much to Fuyuko's surprise, Misaki readily agreed to go into the city. Fuyuko didn't doubt their friendship, she simply had the impression that Misaki would always be busy with one thing or another. Misaki always gave off an aura of someone that had everything planned well in advance. To Fuyuko, such skill in organisation was a very admirable trait as Fuyuko herself always failed in sticking to plans. Holding Misaki's hand as they walked out of the classroom together, Fuyuko could not help but feel blessed that she was able to have such a kind and outstanding roommate. Fuyuko wondered if this was what having an older sister would be like.
Arriving in the city, Fuyuko was at a loss of which shop to start browsing. There were way too many types of shops, everywhere she looked. Misaki didn't seem to be in the suggestive mood. She was doing this just to 'pay her back' since she literally destroyed, then reconstructed her memories, it was out of pity. Pity that she wasn't allowed to have her own memories intact in her own brain. It was past 2:00 pm by the time they reached the shopping section, in district 7. Walking around, and sight-seeing, they walked around. Misaki assumed that Fuyuko was simply too picky to actually come to a conclusion.
"Umm, Fuyuko-chan? How about we go grab something to eat from that cafe? You can decide what shop to enter while we eat, yes~?" she suggested, feeling that wasting any more time from just sight-seeing is not worth it. Misaki then casually walked over to the cafe she pointed towards. It was also a good way to avoid the gazes of the pedestrians. She was being lazy to remove the memories of the supposed 'sight-seeing' people who watched attractive ladies instead of products in the stores.
"That's a good idea! There are just so many shops here that it's hard to decide where to start from." Following after Misaki, Fuyuko continued glancing at the different shops.
Cute accessories or toys? Maybe there might be a shop with many versions of Gekota-san?
Upon entering the cafe, Misaki walked inside to peer across the tables; looking for an unoccupied table and chairs. However, her line of sight caught someone very familiar, it was Misaka Mikoto, sitting with four other students. It piqued her interest. She walked straight over to her, without hesitation.
Fuyuko watched as Misaki suddenly turned and walked over towards an occupied table.
Could they be friends of Shokuhou Onee-san? She wasn't sure whether to follow her or find a table while she waited for them to have their conversation, however curiousity soon won over and Fuyuko trotted along behind Misaki to find out who these people were.
"Oh... right, we're here to eat, not talk," Misaki remembered her reasoning, she'd rather not draw the attention of the crowds towards the two celebrities that met each other. Who knows, news could be made out from witnesses, and she'd hear something about their open rivalry. It'd be troublesome to Misaki.
"Unfortunately I have other business to tend to, see you later, Amazon girl-chan~!" she walked off, sitting on an empty seat on an unoccupied table, Fuyuko followed after, and sat opposite to her.
Uiharu's phone rang, "Hello?" she received it.
"Excuse me, but, I'm from Judgement Branch 169, may I ask where you are, at the moment?" a female voice spoke out, she sounded much older than Uiharu, so Uiharu ended up replying in a more serious tone, "Ah... yes! I'm in district 7. Well... more specifically... " she looked out the window to the left, "I can see the now-closed-down Misawa Cram School from the cafe that I am in."
Kuroko sighed, covering her face with her palms,
"You're not supposed to tell her that... "
Misaka and Sana laughed. "Oh? That's perfect! You're in the exact place where Minase Tamaki-chan is! She's scurried into district 7 and is tailing some shady man whom she believes that she saw in the recent incident on Third Resource Renewal Center. It's a bit dangerous, so please, help us out and catch that suspicious man, and make sure Minase-chan is safe, please!" the woman from the other side asked.
"M-Minase Tamaki-san?!" Uiharu Kazari spazzed out; bewildered, same happened to Misaka and Sana as they heard Uiharu's outrage.
"W-What happened?!" Misaka asked, aloud.
"Did something happen to my little sister?!" Minase Sana was already worried, even before knowing what's going on.
"I-I.. uhhh! Uhhhhh!!" Uiharu's eyes were spinning in a spiral-shape; flummoxed. Saten Ruiko called out to her. But to no avail, her head was wobbling.
"Uiharu! Calm down," Kuroko grabbed Uiharu by her shoulders, spoke in a calm tone.
"I-It seems like Minase-chan is tailing a suspicious and shady man that she saw back on that Third Resource Renewal Center where there was a terrorist incident just yesterday. She's currently close-by here. Apparently she could see the premises of the Misawa Cram School from where she was."
Kuroko replied, looking out the window,
"That's close-by alright. Onee-sama, please don't interfere; let us Judgement members handle it!" Kuroko then held Uiharu, then the two vanised in thin air - teleporting away. It shocked Minase Sana, who saw Kuroko use her ability for the first time.
"Wait, I'm coming too!" Misaka said, rushing out of the shop, Saten Ruiko, and Minase Sana followed suit. Misaki sipped her cup of coffee, as she commented,
"She sure is busy hogging all the attention~!".
Sipping on her hot chocolate, Fuyuko watched as Misaki's acquaintances suddenly rushed out of the cafe shop.
"Judgement? Terrorist incident? What's going on?" She thought out loud to herself. Fuyuko nibbled on her fork.
"It's so weird," She mused,
"Those terrorists are supposedly around us, but so many people don't actually ever see them. It's as if they don't really exist."
"Nothing you should be thinking about, Fuyuko-chan~!" Misaki casually replied, paying no actual heed towards those who just ran out of the shop, she then took another sip from her cup, even the manner in which she did that had a rather elegant feature in it, she was truly a princess-type of a person.
***
Why does it have to be her?!
Minase Sana was more angry than worried at this point, why did Tamaki had to be the one to spot such a dangerous type of a person? At this point, it'd be better if she is more of an airhead and didn't noticed the crucial aspects of the situations; hence wishing her to be more clueness. But alas, she was born with different traits. As she followed her upperclassman and her friends, her worries were endless.
Kuroko and Uiharu ran across the streets, there wasn't much she could do, but she went along with Kuroko anyway. The two flipped down their green armbands that signified their affiliation in the city due to it's white emblem; the armband that Judgement members wears. Kuroko probably wouldn't let Uiharu come if she weren't a part of Judgement. "The suspicious person was described as someone wearing black coat and covered her head with hood!" Uiharu explained, Kuroko nodded in acknowledgement. When the two finally saw someone such as that in the pavement, it seemed as though he was trying to make a call via his phone.
"Oh no you don't," Misaka, who stood far back in comparison to Kuroko and Uiharu, already spotted the shady suspect. She already over-heard how that person looked like, from Minase Tamaki, yesterday, as she was talking to an ex-Judgement member about it. Electric-waves were radiated from Misaka's bangs, bringing every electrical appliances to a halt in the surrounding area, including lights in the shops, or the signal lights in the streets, and phones, which was her target. At this, Minase Sana was surprised, to think that Misaka would do such quick-thinking and take such a drastic action, she herself would be too concerned about the trouble she'd cause for the others, but Misaka on the other hand, was outright focused at restraining the suspected criminal no matter the cost, it gave her more reason to admire her new-found friend. It was still slightly hard to believe, that Misaka befriended her, of all people around the city.
It seemed the man was frustrated from being unable to make his call, and walked off in the pavement.
"Hold it! I'm with Judgement, and you're coming us! We've spotted you in the Third Resource Renewal Center yesterday!" Kuroko announced, at the same time, Uiharu gave a signal to have people move out of the place, to which the crowds seemed to be complying.
Sadao heard a voice coming from behind him. Turning around slowly, he was more than annoyed.
They spotted me? he thought, trying to remember when could he have screwed up that bad. When he made his escape yesterday, there was no one who had a view of his face. He figured they just remembered his hooded figure. Examining the girl she was rather short. The flowers in her hair and overall appearance didn't rate her as much of a threat.
"Your a bit late kiddo. The jobs done and I was just about to head home. Maybe catch a movie." answered Sadao dipping his left hand into his pocket. The gun he used to kill the target was currently pointed at the ground in his right hand.
"Why don't you just run along before you both get hurt?"
Sadao never respected Judgement, but he knew the faces of the people he needed to avoid, and neither of them were familiar to him. Still, Judgement wouldn't send them out without backup. If they linked him to the Recycling Center, they knew he wouln't hesitate to kill. So, either they were more of a threat than he knew or he was being watched. Without Maria, his options were limited. Looking around for anything, he was interupted by the brat once again.
Kuroko sighed, to her, it was yet again, a man confident only because he is a male with brute strength,
"These are the kinds of criminals who are only good at talking," she calmly approached the suspect, her hand slipped back towards her skirt, she vanished in thin air; teleporting.
Sadao narrowed his eyes.
Either she is extremely fast...or she is like that man I met the other day. he thought. Holstering his weapon, he wanted to make it as hard to steal his firearm as possible. Drawing the knife that he was fondling in his pocket, he tried to predict where she would show up. As she appeared in front of him, he kicked back narrowly; dodging the kick as it brushed against the brim of his hood. She was better than he gave her credit for. Before she could regain he balance Sadao attempted the dash forward using his power. Throwing a right hook he tried to knock her from the air.
Suddenly his punch came up empty as she teleported out of the way just in time. This was going to be harder than he had time for. He needed to get out of there. Focusing all his attention into his feet he drew all his power there. Then he drew a little into his hands for added grip. Maria would be in the area, but not anywhere that would be easy to find. If he caused a scene, she might be able to find him. Or she might book it out of there. Still it was better than staying there.
Hopping back, he dashed into the alleyway, attempting to put distance between him, and lose his followers in the jungle that was the city, he took off, and then he noticed a girl running next to him.
This brat... he thought as he looked ahead. Another girl was attempting to block his path. Gritting his teeth he increased his speed, rushing towards her he shoved her out of the way sending her into the wall. Kuroko cringed at the scene, and teleported into the path in front of him; in the alleyway, Sadao couldn't get past her, unless he jumped over her. But after seeing her power is action, one would assume that she'd catch up regardless.
"You guys just don't know when to quit!" he snarled as he wanted to reach for his gun, and take a few shots at her. But that would cause even more trouble for him. If he didn't already have all of Judgement on him already, he'd just wait until they were out for blood. Grinding to a halt, he decided to take the streets instead. Screeching around the corner came Maria's car. She really knew how to make an entrance. Stopping in front of him she kicked the door open, shouting at him to get in. Not taking a moment to think he hopped into the passenger seat.
"TAMA-CHAN!!" Sana shouted out to her fallen little sister, it was a heart-wrentching moment when she saw her sister was beaten down like that. It felt as though someone shattered her heart just as Tamaki got knocked out. She wished her sister wasn't so reckless, and would care for her health more than anything. Her tears could be seen running down her cheeks in that instant. Her brain couldn't even find itself worrying about Tamaki, the shock was that great. Before Sana ran forward, Misaka held her by her shoulder; stopping her.
"Oi! Kuroko! I'm sorry, but this turned into my, no... our personal matter now," Misaka said, calmly. One wouldn't imagine that she was mad. However, on the inside, she was silently burning with rage and anger. Kuroko realized this, the moment she took a look at her grave expression that got triggered; there was no stopping her. Kuroko stepped aside quitely, closing her eyes in disappointment. Disappointed, because she couldn't bring this to an end by herself, and had to rely on the famous Railgun to bring this to an end.
From her pocket, Misaka Mikoto - the Strongest Electromaster of Academy City -
The Railgun, took out a shiny silver coin; it was an arcade coin. She walked forward, flicking it into the air. The sound of ignition from the car could be heard, it seemed that the driver of the car intended to move past them, and even run over them if possible - a reckless move, she clearly lacked a clue regarding who she was up against.
The coin came down spinning towards Misaka's right-hand, electrical trails of lightning could be seen running up to her fingers from her bangs - brightening up the surroundings, even darkening the sunlight that gently fell from the sun in the sky. A bright, light-orange beam shot out. It was a move that had a muzzle velocity of 1030 m/s, and could be fired at a rate of 8 shots per minute. It's extremely accurate; having only a target deviation of around 18.9 mm. The beam moved so fast - that it seemed like a blitzer strike made, full of killer's intent loaded into it - the impact could be seen even before it hit the target, as it split the streets in two, breaking the asphalt apart as if it's as soft as cheese; the debris full of stones and asphalt that the road was made out of, had every onlookers close their eyes in fear and shock as it sent heavy waves across the scene. The car took a direct hit. It literally got blown away, rolled a few times before it came to a stop. It seemed to at least got moved away by 7 meters back. The car was in such a state that one would assume that the passengers, and the driver, would most likely be severely injured. The driver felt the type of concussion that took away even her conciousness, she felt a type of fear that she had never before felt. It was pure terror, that was only privilege to the level 5's of the city.
Sadao found himself above the rooftop of the building that was beside the streets, he was well out of the line of sight of the others below, including civilians and Judgement members... or
The Railgun. A girl with long dark red hair - tied into two low ponytails - stood behind Sadao, she wore a dark blue coat over her shoulders, in a manner as if wearing a cape, her breasts could be seen covered with bandage. She slowly walked over to Sadao, "Sorry that I couldn't save your partner's ass. But it was pretty impossible, seeing how I was up against
The Railgun," she spoke in a cold, and heartless tone. She clearly didn't care if anyone died. "Besides, I only got ordered to save your sorry butt, anyway. I have no obligation to save her."
Sadao's whole body was sore, and he could barely pay attention to what the woman was saying. Sitting up, he held his head up with his hand.
"Didn't know he cared that much," said Sadao in a sarcastic tone. He was trying to piece together what happened. Last thing he remembered was being jerked around in his seat.
Maria? he thought as he slowly stood up. Looking at the woman, he knew that he remembered her face. But as far as what group she really belonged to, he didn't know. He just knew she had ties just like him, to the underworld.
Looking over the edge, he saw Maria being taken out of the wreckage. She looked alive, and he would have to take it at that for now. She'd be taken to prison and questioned, but she would have her life at least. Turning back to the woman he sighed,
"Thank you," he said, standing up straight. His posture allowed his face to be seen easier.
"You did your job, there is nothing else for you to have done," he answered.
"Shall we leave before we have to deal with round 2?"
"Yeah, I have no intention of slacking around either, off we go," she said, the two teleporting away from the scene.
