Well, he sidestepped that trap, as I thought he would. I'm not sure how he got to the other gal before getting to the chick that initially wanted to shoot him first but...h-logic. I was rooting for comeuppance, but it's really ho-hum for me bc he's not the first and only loathsome h-villain to get away with stuff. He is one of the characters to get major kickback, justly so.
I wonder sometimes if the writers of this genre think they're writing a "wish fulfillment" power fantasy while somehow not realizing that most of us (hopefully) don't wish to be that kind of person, thus are unable to derive enjoyment out the story from that perspective as intended? I mean, sure we all probably fantasize about having this ability, but asking me to identify with a character who has that ability AND uses it in this manner just isn't going to work. Hmm,...well, just a thought.
You and I have exchanged comments about this subject a few times in the past, so you know I'm not very surprised at the outcome either. Too bad, but it's just the way the mangaka in this genre like to do it. Actually, I was only giving this series a passing glance since the trope isn't my cup of tea anyway and didn't figure it would end differently than it did so I wasn't very emotionally invested.
Yep. I also felt disinterest in the series early on. In fact, after reading the comments for the 8th chapter and thinking, "Okay, better take a look at this one," I wrote that that was my response to the series. It was clear to me that he had a predictable path of getting away with everything. He would have been not so hateable if he was acting off revenge or bullying, but when he started getting random girls pregnant, I thought that was a major low blow.
Even a passing acknowledgement from him that he was at least aware that he's been a scumbag would have been something. But no, just a bunch of "You figgered it out? huh, how about that" dialog and general "oh well" shoulder shrugging from all parties.
Went the way it usually goes, unfortunately.
Yeah...Early on, I thought this guy was written to do his diabolical thing virtually unhindered from start to finish. It's just another h-logic parallel universe where the creep either has no obstacle to getting what he wants or whatever obstacle there is can easily be stepped over.
And Saikawa Yusa's Mesmerism series...Actually, the vast majority of hypnotism stories end up with the antagonist getting away with everything. The only one that comes to mind that didn't was Totoyama Keiji's Hypnotic Headphones.
..... "BUT IT'S WRONG!" 😠😡🤬😠😡🤬😠😡🤬
