America Can Not Create Good Anime, What Do You Think?

Hmm...I think the word anime specifically refers to animations made by jap...but oh well. And I dunno about Bleach and Naruto anime being good...

But for me for any country especially mine to produce decent animations...they must first be aware that animations are not something just for kids. It's for all types of audiences and so they must make the story enjoyable by all...

And any non-jap animations that I like? None.

First no one can make anime but Japan,

So it’s not possible for anyone else to make anime but Japan.

Now if you mean in the style of anime then I say no. There are good anime like shows out of Japan like Avatar the last Airbender. It’s not so much a no one can do it. It is more on one wants to make animation like anime it’s hard to compete with Japan in that department so I think most just don’t try out of Japan.

In terms of story, yes I'm sure America can/has conjured diamonds. However, the main problem would be the animation style, as the art style is very much different.

Both of them could make good anime,but Japan is the best one,since all people knows that anime idea comes from Japan.

All the "animes" that US created have been rated under "cartoons" from my point of view. They have more to learn before claiming them to be equal to animes.

Perhapes they can start by not aiming the age group towards CHILDRENS.

Btw you have to remember that a generation of japanese grew up on older manga, so they are today's anime writers. I think that after this generation grows up on not just imported animes, but also japanese anime via the internet, americans will suprise you with some anime goodness.

Wannabe mods popping up all over the forums... Goddam... and half the time, they're pointing fingers for the wrong reasons.

As for my opinion on this matter:
I think it's possible, but you have to remember culture differences. In the US, cartoons aren't taken seriously, so unless we can get over that mind set, most every cartoon (if not all) will be shallow and uneventful.

agreed persondude, but once again i point out that current geration of young people see serious cartoons, so i think it wont be long until we see a cartoon on something besides nick or cartoon network. It just takes a catalyst, something that a major network will put on. I predict a story about some kind of semi-relistic post apoc future will be shown, like a global warming anime or a world ran out of resources. That'll start respect for serious anime in mainstream society.

Edit: Avatar is in the anime tradition though... more so than say something like teen titans right? The creators actually said that was what they were trying to do... make an anime done by americans. Whether it was any good is subject to you own opinion

yeah those were good shows but they weren't anime. But i did love me some static shock.

I don't think the animation style would be the problem (there are many people around the world now that can draw manga just like the best), but rather the story. But, like persondude said, unless america starts taking the anime style seriously, it ain't gonna happen.

I don't know if it is that america doesn't respect anime is entire the problem though. I think abit also has to do with companies liking put each show in it's place, the cartoons go on cartoon network, the american seth mcfarlene shows go on fox, liberal news on msnbc, and conserative on fox news. So the shows are here, but they don't put em where the majority of people are looking, it's just not worth the risk to the companies that own the networks
