America Can Not Create Good Anime, What Do You Think?

Static Shock is what you’re thinking about. Also I say yeah that these have a definite anime presence in them. Yes TT is an American show, it's the TT they've been around for like 20 years now. Also Batman Gotham Knight had an episode that was drawn exactly like an anime, and GK was epic!

America can't create good animation? I guess Pixar and Dream Works don't exist then.

Well the generic anime style. I'm pretty sure america can do it, they just refuse to because that's japan's territory.

You know those styles that aren't the usual anime, like Kaiba or Shin-chan. How do define something like that as an anime. What if the Spongebob that we have was made in Japan and looked the exactly same as it does now, is it now anime?

I know it is not anime but the venture bros is probably one of the best cartoons on right now.

I think that sums it up, and not to mention that if they tried, they'd fail miserably.

I can think of one example of American animation with Japanese animation, "Batman Gotham Knight". DC collaborated with Japanese animators(Studio 4°C, Madhouse,and Production I.G.) to create a collection of short films in one DVD.



Also, some Japanese animators team up with American script writers. (Afro Samurai the movie and The Five Killers)

I still like Japanese anime .
It has lots of varieties .

Well japan makes great anime with there own kind of style to it using the way they live and their environments. If America tried to make anime it could work as well just that it would be different with more of an american style to it and I'm not talking about them lame old cartoons or animation. Come to think of it wasn't Afro Samurai an american made anime and it was a pretty big hit.

Afro Samurai was never created by American studios - who the hell thought that was true? Didn't you guys see the Gonzo logo in the very beginning of the movie? It was codirected by Fuminori Kizaki and Jamie Simone, but the animation was Japanese made but the voice actors were American movie stars. True it was a collaboration of both nations, but it's pretty clear that the Japanese media culture has more influence on the series than American media culture.

The day america creates anime is the day I carve out my eyes with a spork.

I'm looking forward to seeing more collaborations in the future.

Wikipedia mentions that there might be a third season/movie coming out for Afro Samurai as the movie kinda ended on an open note.

Well, avatar is an exception cause I liked avatar. :D
