Angel Beats!

I like Angel Beats the plot is great. Even tho I rarely do this with anime I've been watching it in English and the voice acting is great.

I just got the DVDs (yes, I buy anime sets) this morning, and I gotta say, WTF DID THEY DO TO TK! With that being said, I think they did a good job on some of the voice actors, but it's falling short (imo). Still going to watch it though.

I saw the first episode of the dub, friend got it and we watched the first episode, he hasn't seen the series though so I can't borrow it yet and give it a thorough review(I plan to get the DVD set regardless). The dub in my opinion, is okay. I probably would have given it more credit if it weren't for the fact that I've already seen the series and know how certain characters develop and grow. That being said I still managed to enjoy hearing the dub, by the end of the episode my ears weren't bleeding or even remotely in pain. I also don't think I have high dub standards, but its has been some time since I bought dvd sets regularly, the last time I did so was between 2005-2008 so if dub quality went down after that I never really knew first hand, only through word of mouth.
For starters I am glad they didn't try to dub the Girls DeMo songs, and kept to the original audio track. Regarding TK, I haven't heard much of him(since episode 1 he doesn't say much), but TK never got his own episode so from what I could tell I didn't mind it much, maybe it gets worse throughout the dub? I'll find out soon enough. I really liked Yuri's voice in the dub, but I didn't like hearing "Yurippe" just off the fact that the dub voice actors couldn't pronounce it like the Japanese voice actors could, but then again, that's just being nit-picky, I understand that not all English voice actors can pronounce Japanese names accordingly.

Wow, this became a longer rant than I expected.
Anyways to sum it up, after only seeing the first episode of the dub I still give it high marks. Can't wait to buy it and add it to my collection.

This anime is in the top of my anime lists, outstanding music and animation. The only complain that I have probably is the episode length, which I heard was made as few as possible because of budgeting problems. If it could have spanned for around 24 episodes or so, the other characters may have been given more background.

I agree, I feel this is one show that would have been exponentially better with more episodes, that and I liked the concept. There was a lot they had to cram in at the very end and I would have loved to see a bit more background on the others. but they ended it well enough, it was a nice little hear warmer.

All in all, this one goes into my fave list.

This is probably the best anime i've seen and i will ever seen.
It didn't make me cry like almost every other anime and the plot even if it was really good had his low points, but what Maeda managed to teach me with this series is the most important thing i will ever learn.

Now i'm waiting the Refrain of Little Busters! to see if the Key is able to hit me three times in a row (AB!, Planetarian and LB!)

The prologue and the Refrain routes are the only two great and unarguably the best routes in LB, undoubtedly because they are the only routes that Maeda wrote. You probably won't be disappointed.

The ending made me cry. cuz it was so bad.

I enjoyed this show too, but it was a little weird watching this, the last season of LOST, and 'Ashes to Ashes' do pretty much the same story at the same time.

I just finished this recently, and loved it. I mean, I did sort of have a problem with how abrupt some character changes were (like the sudden love interest with Yui and...uh...blue hair friend guy), and in general a lot of things felt too quick...they probably could have made this better if they had gone for like 15 or 16 episodes or something. Oh well.

All in all it was fantastic. Loved the humor - very well-timed.

is there going to be another season ?

I just devoted the last 7 hours of my day to watching this series, and i can say that time wasnt wasted. Its good, i the ending almost had me crying. And i cant decide which is better out of angel beats and clannad.

They're both beautifully executed works by Key. I will admit that Clannad has better build up, but there's an allure to Angel Beats fast paced plot as well. For the most part they both have fairly different characters, you don't find alot of mirrors between the two. Though Otonashi is a little dry compared to Tomoya, in my opinion.

i was thinin that, but they're kinda similar, tomoya just plays more parts in the comedy.
