They really wanted to do a 26 episode series, but unfortunately, they were slated for 13 and no more. The director said that the story was too complex and the characters were too intricate to stuff within 13 episodes, thus they're making manga, a 4-koma, and a light novel all involved in the original story. This is the best they can do with what they're given~ it really had a lot of potential, but the world runs on money you know.As you said, the world runs on money, but that also being said, if it does well enough in the money making department, it may get another 13 eps.

I'd rather have another 13episode in which half of them contain filler rather than seeing this great series meets its end.

As true as it may be that they get money, they've been spending a shitton on animation values and music for the most part. A studio would be willing to pump out two mediocre animes as long as it makes more money. That way it costs less to make.

Pretty good, Not enough TK Imo. I think i see other people walking around but i've been trying to pay attention to TK so i don't know who these other people are on screen.

Fckin Hell!!!! *Bangs Head on the Table*....I havent cried this much for a long time! I didnt see that coming seriously coz i stopped watching after ep 10...OMG!!!! Why did it have to end this way?!?! Why?! It hurts so much...I mean I kept it all inside and now its all coming out...My chest hurts and so does my Throat and eyes...Where the Fck is the smoke if you need one?! Imma buy a pack of smoke on monday...Rewatch EP 13...and smoke my heart out...Damn it all!!!!....
Edit: So uhm...What happens after this? Manga? Novel? anything at all...I dont wanna end it like this(although it happens)...at least something, Ive cried on too many anime...but this...this is just...too much to handle well maybe one of those too much to handle.

Well just finished watching the last episode, definitely a tear jerker (although Clannad had me crying like a baby >_>)
Overall this was a very good series but sometimes couldn't reach greater heights due to it's short length, which I can't blame on Jun or anyone else involved and they did an admirable job with such an emotional story to tell.
It seems we'll be getting an extra 14th episode with the last DVD/BD, the seventh volume. What it'll be based on I don't know, I'm personally hoping we get to see what happened to everyone after passing on (particularly Otonashi and Kanade.) Unfortunately that's not coming out till December 22nd according to Amazon.
Well I look forward to the next series Jun works on, whether it's 13 episodes or more.

Words cannot express the depths of joy and sorrow I've gotten from this anime. It jerked me from one emotion to the other and I enjoyed ever moment of it. It took a physical effort to keep my eyes dry during that last episode. I should've known not to watch anymore of Key's animes. They always leave me up at the wee hours of the morning. Still it was so good and so bad and ended so great that I felt worse after watching... I think it broke my ability to make comprehensive sentences? *sigh* I gonna plug "My song" into my ears and pass out now

I just woke up it's 8:30am still can't sleep ...Im torn apart after watching the last episode.:.espcially the last few parts...it's going to be hard getting over this...this series just climbed on my top 5...I'll be downloading this might buy it....i said before "funny parts are really funny, sad parts is really gonna make you teary"...and as expected it carried that until the end...brave song and my soul your beats just keeps playng on my head...man his goig to be hard...I just wanna stay in bed today...this is worse tha n getting dumped or breaking up... -.-' overall 5/5...can't well very much right now, can't post a good comment...just wanna say it was the BEST!

why ? because from 8th episode, i really want to know "Who is Kanade before she died and go to afterlife world"
and why other SSS member (like T.K. , Shiina, Takeyama, Etc) disappear without any reason except 5 last members who appear in final episode, they (others) also have major rules in angel beats episode and "the battlefront"
i think EP 10 have more heartfelt than last episode, i'm really miss yui after watch EP 10 but didn't miss kanade or otonashi after watching final episode.

As the credit rolled and the song was being played, I said "Shit... what a bad ending for Otonashi," and after watching the last few seconds, I said
All in all, it was a great conclusion. Felt kinda down that Maeda finished it in a way that there won't be a sequel.

Series was overall great. I was deeply disappointed at the start of the series, and I guess I still am, having expected something even more emotional, but I guess that a 13 episode series wasn't enough. The series had it ups and downs. I pretty much hated the start of this last episode, but I admit to crying like a little girl at the end, Jun Maeda remains the God of writing tear-jerking material.
Now I mostly look forward to an Official OST disc(If there isn't one already? I have to check that) and a Piano Arrangement Album that I hope Key chooses to release for this series too, as they have released Arrangement albums for Kanon, Air and Clannad.
