If you cannot get enough of heroes and demon kings, another related title is coming your way in the Spring season of 2013.
Maou Sadao, currently working at a fast food restaurant, which uncannily resembles McDonald, is actually a demon king from an alternate universe. On a rainy day, he helps a female executive out, by lending her an umbrella, only to later discover that she is a heroine, by the name of Yusa Emi, tasked to slay him.
For the experienced anime viewer, one should have realized that heroes and demons never end up fighting one another. They usually become friends, and should the opposing characters be of different genders, a love relationship or harem will develop.
In any case, "Hataraku Maou sama!" looks like a comedy which I may enjoy.
Two PVs have been released thus far.
Not forgetting a link to the official anime website: http://maousama.jp
Its the first episode so its pretty basic. I acutally thought something was wrong with the video when they were speaking a unknown language. Anyway, I am liking this series. Maou takes him job seriously. Its a life or death situation.
Color me surprised. I thought this was gonna be a straight action show. And said action was frigging awesome. Didn't see the comedy shift thing coming, but it was funny, so I'm not complaining. I'm sold on this one.
The opening part was awesome; it had some epic fighting and Maou was badass. And the rest of it, the comedy, was awesome too. It was hilarious, and I'm glad they didn't dwell too much on the fish-out-of-water stuff. Seeing the opening, though, almost makes me wish for a spin-off focussing on that. In any case, imma be following this like a creepy rapist stalking schoolgirls.
First episode just reminds me of Kotoura. "Hey, you sent out an army of demons that murdered countless humans. But you work at McG's now so it's all good." *shivers*
[size=14]I have to say I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, the way it shifted from action to comedy was really funny and the animation was nice and fluid, so yeah, I look forward to seeing how that one turns out.[/h]
At first, the action scenes at the start made me wish this was gonna be a action-genre show. But then, when they started speaking funny and all, I've never laughed so hard in a while. Definitely watching this one to the end. KHATSU-DUM ftw.
This show was really under the radar for me. I had no expectations of it pre-season. But damn, that first episode. This is probably going to be one of my favourites this season.
Watched it last night. It was pretty great. My favorite part was when he called his bike "my dullahan". That and the screaming out in make believe language to each other while getting IDs a place to live and etc.
That was better than I expected. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. I wonder if it'll just be comedy or if more action will occur later on. Great first episode though. The pink/peach-ish haired girl that works with him was pretty cute.
Fear the 100-Yen Hero, and her little knife! ...Right? Eh, never mind. Bit of a rarity for me to not hate a redheaded Tsundere, but she's just the right amount of entertaining and pathetic to make me like her. Curious to see who Mystery Magic Sniper is...
