Honestly, KyoAni's weakest title yet, it literally didn't know what to focus on.
-Comedy : it gave me a few laughs but just not enough.
-Romance : It was underdeveloped and just left hanging.
-moeblob : Too much of Dera
Honestly, the plot with Dera and the prince is just useless.

Honestly, the plot with Dera and the prince is just useless.
I felt the same way with this show, it didnt really feel like they were doing anything the whole time, and I actually fell asleep during some of the episodes so I missed some characters being introduced.

"The title change reflects a change from the earlier television version, in which the romance elements had been minimal."
So looking at that description, and its project title being Tamako Love Story, it seems like they will be focusing more on the romantic element of the series, which I'm happy about. Looking forward to this.

Well the anime itself isnt that bad.
There are quite some nice scenes.
But i just dont understand this fakt that there needs to be a talking bird that can do some strange moves Oo
I think it could be better without all this, but u/we dont deserve such a anime :D

Here's hoping we get can finally some Mochizou x Tamako shipping going for the movie since we were denied of it during the series's run.

Dera was the only one who kept me interested in the series, that and the hope some sort of romantic progress would be made by someone, preferably Tomako. Egotistical, self indulgent, narcissistic characters like Dera can motivate me to watch any series. I watched/enjoyed Sora o Kakeru Shoujo simply for Leopard (Lelouch's voice in an even more pretentious and narcissistic role... Love!). Dunno why... But I enjoyed the banter between him and the other characters.

I completely agree with you on that. Dera was the main reason I stuck with the series initially.
Unpopular opinion, but Tamako Market was one of the few KyoAni series I really enjoyed. I liked the vibe it gave off, and though I was disappointed by the lack of romantic development, I still ended up loving it. Bring on a second season, I'll be all over it.
