Yep, same here. I was baffled by it afterwards, so I have to rewatch it again to get the finer points. I guess I can't absorb it all at once.

It's the same as the previous DnB... Hei's missing again, mysteriously. But the ending is quite nice and well-done, with a nice shot of Hei with Suou in a tender moment. I currently have it as my desktop wallpaper ^_^

I guess we'd see another Darker than Black sequel, which I'd be happy to see again. But after seeing this, it's a sure-fire possibility.

Damn. I just happened to finish watching the first season yesterday. A good show indeed. Moving onto the second season now. Good show=good show.

The way I see it, Shion did nothing close to a sacrifice and just like everyone else, had a wish of his own. No sort of "fusion" ever took place between those two I tell you.

The answer to your question is quite simple; because July wished upon a star and thus it was granted. At any rate, I do feel for you in the same sense of loss that I've once felt before (just last summer).

Only words coming to mind towards the final episode are..Dissapointment, a bit confusion and all in all a bad ending IMO,Souo lives happily ever-after .. bah.. I expected an ending close to season 1.. but oh well. all I can do now is wait for those in-between S1 and S2 episodes to explain a few things.

Had a look back at the episode to clarify a few things.

Actually the second earth wasn't in an alternate universe(why did i think that), it just moved really far away from the real one.

Also how did the guy who can absorb parts into his body live after Suou shot him in the head?..
And why was the magician still alive. inb4 cause he was a magician.

That seems likely, seeing as she always narrates the first and last episodes. Plus, there's NO WAY they can just leave the story the way they did. If they do...UNACCEPTABLE!

I think the 12th episode would've been better as two separate ones, but the studio might not have been able to for some reason or another. They always seem to run into trouble with DtB. I heard that the first season's original script was stolen part way through and so they had to make up a new one, and then the new plans for the second season were leaked online. I think they also might have run into trouble with the second season since they have some issues with scripts/planning/etc. Which is all too bad, because I think the series is really interesting, it's just the endings that are weak.

Or they could add a new batch of moe faces as they did here.

I pretty much expected Misaki to have more of a vital role in this one, but seeing as how she didn't, I doubt she ever will.

Heck, the major roadblock/setback I had seen in "Ryuusei no Gemini" was the admission of a minor character role into the ranks of protagonist. Suou's ending which was most indicative of her character's worth -- NOTHING -- just as much as whatsoever new she did bring to the table, should justify much even of my prior concerns.


For the bullet didn't actually penetrate through his forehead. Thanks to his protective covering, he only got knocked out.


It's not like you ever did see his face get crushed by Shizume, so what made you think he even died in the first place? But seriously, if being too awesome is unreasonable enough, then it must be the work of the dragon balls.

Btw, has anyone commented on that car yet? At first I went "WOW!" but right after the credits have rolled, I thought, that has got to be it! I doubt a third season will ever be a possibility, or else they would have reached the Jetsons' era by then.

There was an interview with the producers, and it was noted that their would not be a third season (which doesn't make sense to me).
We can only wait now for the OVA's that fit in between the first and 2nd season to explain what happened in between.

It's somewhat surprising how no one decided to follow the whole Izanami/Izanagi reference (sorry if I missed something). I may live on the other side of the planet, totally oblivious to Japan mythology and I still made the effort. Proved quite educational too.
Anyways, long story short the way I see it ...
