I think the magic circles will only get in the way later on. When you have two mages fighting, real fast, just flying at each other, a bunch of circles are going to slow things down and clutter the screen.
Also, like gin said, they weren't in the manga. But the problem isn't that it's not staying pure to the source material or whatever - the problem is, the author was able to make great fight scenes without magic circles. Change the formula, and the end result may differ.
Of course, none of this matters until more episodes come out, and it'll be a while before some big battles, when we'll see if the magic circles hinder the fight or add to it.

Saw it, and was disppointed by how crappy the animation was...they could do better for an awesome series like this...seriously.

i haven't read the Manga, but i have seen the first 2 episodes and I like it, however a bit a soft animations maybe.

The first three episodes are up! I saw the first two and was pretty impressed and in terms of the studio and channel that its airing on. I would have to say that it would be pretty hard for tv tokyo to fuck something like this up. But then again i might be wrong considering they got their hands filled with the production of one piece and bleach. Either way i have high hopes for this series!
P.s- The Irish music in the series is kick ass :D Reminds me of the song ship me off to Boston for some reason. XD

I had high expectations since i read the manga about halfway through(stopped though) and after seeing the first episode....I just gotta say

To be fair, the dodgy CG magic circles and what looks like re-used stock animations are more of a Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh type thing. You know, whenever a certain thing happens, they roll out the same little sequence with CG bits thrown in. Also, the current king of drawn-out battles is Bleach and that's getting less and less viewers in Japan (it's dropped out of the top 20 anime TV ratings recently) and the manga is been outsold by Naruto and Bleach and is getting worse reviews in Japan as it goes on. The last 6+ volumes have 2/5 on Amazon.jp.

The wait for OST to come out is killing me! I'm getting more addicted with every new ep coming out, seriously... although series is rather decent as a manga adaptation, the OST doesn't cease to amaze me.
