Fairy Tail is Finally Getting an Anime!

The anime was a large disappointment to me.

Couldn't get too far into it.

I just finished watching episode 48 (using Funiguys subs, which I really didn't want to use).

I cried manly tears again. With Laxus heading off from the Fantasia event, he turns around and finds his Grampa and everyone else from Fairy Tail posing the thumb and finger sign to the heavens as tribute for Laxus.

Epic, pure epic. I love this series simply for its raw emotion.

Fairy Tale has an amazing voice acting cast. I followed the show for a while just for Lucy. But besides that, it feels so much like a saturday morning cartoon that I can't keep up with it. Many times, I'm not even sure if I'm watching filler or the main story.

No, the anime is strictly following the manga. Haven't seen filler material in it yet compared to the shonen trio.

So episode 9 where they are starving to death and find that abandoned village and Happy grows a mushroom out of his head is not filler but actually is in the manga?If it isn't filler, that is more disappointing that the main story is filler quality. Compared to other shonen, I feel Fairy Tail is not as plot driven or as dramatic. Not that that is a bad thing, especially when you have 200+ episodes like Naruto, OP, & Bleach as the show can become melodramatic. However, it keeps me from following it week to week as I'm not to worried I'll miss something or wondering what happens next. Instead it is something I'd just enjoy watching if I happen to catch it on Tv.

@neko-chan: my memory doesn't serve me that far back, but in essence the anime series has faithfully followed each story arc. Granted, between each arc might be one or two filler episodes, but considering how they've covered 15 volumes (and crossing over into the 16th) with 48 episodes, I'd say Fairy Tail is right on track.

Since I haven't read the manga I can't say how faithfully the anime follows it, but I can say this; this is in no way a bad anime.

Interesting enough though, I really do think that one of the main reasons this not-a-bit-less-childish-anime-than-Naruto-Bleach-OnePiece anime can get me so pumped is cuz of the soundtrack; even ignoring the fact that a lot of these tracks are used in other media as well, their original soundtrack and the way they use them in this anime makes my inner child's blood boil.

Me being me, the main thing I dislike is the lack of blood. Don't get me wrong, I dun need it to be a gruesome gore anime, but I'm tired of watching people get beaten into a pulp with attacks that by description almost can destroy the world, but even then the worst case scenario is that they get some band-aid later. I want my heroes to kill their foes damnit D=

Anyway, that's not very important. This anime got likable characters, awesome soundtrack, a nice style of animation (though it reeks of One Piece).

The anime is actually progressing fast for something that recently came out.
I just hope they won't put long fillers like Naruto or Bleach

Even if they do, it would still be a lot more interesting, though, I think.
They did a few random fillers already and they're pretty good!
I think it all depends on who's writing the script and how easy it is to develop the filler according to the story background. This case, Fairy Tail should be easier to write a few fillers than Naruto or Bleach.

I couldn't even tell the difference between filler episodes and episodes that are from the manga. So I guess that really long fillers wouldn't be that bad, as long as they are on par with the rest of the series.

Fairy Tail is so intresting and funny. It is on par with Naruto and One Piece. Its that good. I haven't read the manga so I can't distinguish between the fillers and the story episodes but They were all good and until now I thought there was not even a single filler eps out yet.. so they really did a good job on making the fillers connected with the story and making it like the continued story.
I love it.
Erza and Lucy... aaawwhh.. shiver me timbers.. (never found that sentence right until Lucy & Erza) and some other girls are cute & beautiful too.. and the Anima Arc's doubles.. wow..
btw I dont like Juvia... lol..





FAIRY TAIL RULES!!!

What???!!! they are starting the Class-S Exam Arc already??? I don't want fillers in the middle of an arc!!(like when Bleach inserted fillers after Ichigo's win against Grimjow)

I hope they could pull it off since the Arc is still on going...
