Hirano Aya news~! Retirement

Her current status!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU WHY?! Other than fan complaints and what not, I really to wish for her better health. I mean, she's worked real hard through famous animes like Suzumiya Haruhi and Lucky Star, and Fairy Tail. She deserves some break to recover from her health issues (unknown).

Now that you read the news, what do you think is gonna happen especially with the current anime works that she's participating in?

She must and will finish those first.

She pretty much wrecked herself, when she started being a random idol. She should just stcik on being a singer and seiyuu, like Nana Mizuki and Yukari Tamura.

Apparently that won't happen. Company orders for her to recover quicker with the least casualties possible.

ok, hmm well as much as I have loved hearing her voice as some of my favorite characters, I am a bit upset at how things have gone for her.

Almost everything I read about her is negative so I'm not that upset. Maybe it'll give her time to settle down and go back to what she enjoys most.

I'm not sure what your reactions to this are, which is why I made this thread. Aya is one of my favourite Seiyuus and finding this out has depressed me. I had already found out about her retirement from voice acting, but I've just found out about her retirement from music as well.

SHe should take it easy for what I've heard she's got a tumor or something like it so if we want to enjoy her performances in the future she musts rest for a while... and get operated

She has earned my hate in this recent years. And there are many seiyuu that is as good as her.

After she garnered her fame, she just kept on asking for more with no end to it. From what I've heard, her singing skill wasn't terribly good either-her two openers for Haruhi, or 'God Knows,' for that matter, had been edited twice as much as other seiyuus' songs.

I lost respect for her after she divulged into singing, and now I don't really care anymore.

meh...thats fine with me, didn't really need another haruhi series anyway. and her music was meh to begin with so yeah.

I hate Hirano Aya, she's overrated as hell. The moment she left her otaku fans disappointed I knew she won't last long, because she's not that talented and her fans were the only thing backing her up. Besides voicing Haruhi and Konata she's nothing.

Say what you will, but Disappearance was damn good. She is of no loss as an idol - she'd done a great job of destroying that career path already - but it sucks that KyoAni won't get to follow that up.

Loathe as I am to trust Sankaku comments, someone said that she will still be reprising anime roles, just not taking on any new ones. Confirmed?

Yea, Haruhi's voice being gone IS a shame, since there are 7+ novels to go... I think they should be able to find a replacement for Haruhi soon, though; it may be awkward in the beginning, but I'm sure that would go away after a while.

I don't know why, but I was think Kugimiya Rie when I was thinking 'replacement for Haruhi's voice.'

Yes she's still allowed to Voice the characters that she already did:
Jewelpet Sunshine (Garnet)
Kimi ni Todoke Season 2 (Ume Kurumizawa)
Maria Holic Alive (Shizu Shidō)
Seikon no Qwaser II (Katja)

But NO new characters, She's been prohibited since 2010.
So, she will voice haruhi, Konata and other anime that has a sequel.

when she started to be a Random idol. everything just went downhill from there. and the whole twitter fiasco.

Eventhough the source I read is from sankaku, but I also read from the original source.
