When I started getting into anime, I had the stuff I got to see in the anime club at my school which was subtitled, (oh I remember the first moment I fell in love with Koyasu Takehito's voice, it was in Mahou Tsukai Tai, anyone remember that? It was when his character screamed "Takeo-kun no BAKA!") but for the most part I only had access to what was available in the stores. Ah Suncoast, how I used to think you were Godly. So when anime was only out on tape first, I bought dubs, why one would ask, it was because they were CHEAPER!!!!(well unless I was buying stuff from AnimeVillage.com because they didn't have dubs, just subs, oh the Escaflowne boxes are so pretty, and I have them all!!!) So I liked the Iria dub and Eva's dub, which is very good in my opinion, though when I rebought the series in platinum, I swear Vic Mignogna voice come out of my tv in the later half of the series with the extended episodes. Thank God for Dvds and Bestbuy who has become my new God. I tend to watch anime in dub with my friends and sub by myself. I tend to like both. Although some dubs I just can't watch, like Kenshin, sorry but nothing can compare to Mayo Suzukaze as Kenshin, sorry but she kicked ass in that role! Now for some dubs I do enjoy:
Ranma 1/2 (it's just funny in either language)
Cowboy Bebop
Fullmetal Alchemist (little Aaron had bowl just for him to play Al, only problem was he kept banging it into the microphone, lol, silly little kid, I kinda hope they bring the cast back for the next Fullmetal Alchemist series)
Trigun
Trinity Blood (no one seems to have mentioned this one)
Gankutsuou
Witch Hunter Robin
Wolf's Rain
Howl's Moving Castle (did you know that after seeing Spirited Away, Christian Bale immediately agreed to play any role in this movie)and the rest of Studio Ghibli films....by the way Howl's Moving Castle is an interesting book
Evangelion (please bring back Spike Spencer for the new Eva movie Funimation, I will love you if you do!!)
Hellsing (I think Crispin Freeman had waaaaaaaay too much fun playing Alucard)
Code Geass (call me crazy or tone deaf if you will but I do like this dub, though I serious am waiting for Lelouch to go "Love and Peace, LOVE AND PEACE!"
Deathnote (like with Code Geass, I am waiting for Light to start screaming out "SHAMPOO!!!!!!" gyah! Then again, if I think about it, I am waiting for Setsuna F. Seiei in Gundam 00 to do that too, because it's the same GUY!!! Interestingly enough, in the Japanese Mamoru Miyano, who plays Light in DeathNote also plays Setsuna, I think the dubbers realized something there....)
Ouran High School Host Club (it wasn't that bad, actually, and did you see those outtakes, oh god, everyone I show them to just about die of laughter! Have a bad day, watch those and feel good again! mmm Mori likes seashells....I hate your face, We're out of money, WE'LL SEEN YOU THEN!!! Pleazu bringu caru!! I have yet to get the second half of the series, but god I hope funimation put the outtakes on that one too!)
xxxHolic (I wish this one had outtakes to it, I wonder how much it took to do Watanuki's lines....the only thing I dislike about the dub is Mokona's voice, it was cuter sounding and less annoying in the japanese)
and the only other anime I can think of is Lain, why because it made it easier to understand the trippy ass show.
Forgot to add this one yesterday, but Moribito has very good dub, hell the story is absolutely astounding, so much I went out and bought the book, took me an hour to find, damned organization was off.
