Do you need a reason for the best, over-the-top, hyper anime?


1. Clannad

Reason: An anime that has far surpassed the VN (which is extremely rare to happen) in terms of emotion, drama, comedy, angst and music, this is still my favorite anime.

Special Mention:

One Piece: I'm more into the manga, really. But when something epic is gonna happen in the anime (like a fight, or drama), you know you gotta watch the episodes, since emotion goes over the top when it comes to One Piece Anime.


Vandread: Aside from the Gundam series and TTGL, Vandread is really a must-watch for the mecha fans. It's a series where the dub version isn't ruined and it's also good. But, like always, the subbed version is always the best when it comes down to it.

Those were amazingly addictive, weren't they? I'll take those as well for 3 and 2 respectively, but number 1 is Trigun. An amazing combination of good soundtrack, coupled with great characters and an unusual plot make this a shoe-in for me (Plus it introduced me to anime from regular, plotless saturday-morning cartoons, my first, if you will).

My top 3 choices would be

Saki - While I do learn about mahjong when watching Akagi its from watching Saki that I started to actually play the game. Noddochi and Tacololi-chan are always fun and pleasant to watch. Currently anticipating for season 2. Don't dissapoint me Gonzo! I want to see those Miko's in action!

Gundam 00 - Loved the Gundam designs, the characters and the story. Each time the show ended in climax that makes you impatient to see the next episode.

Love Hina - My first harem anime. Watch it like 6-7 times, tell it to friend. Watch it together with friends for 3 more times. Tell it to more friends and the cycles continues until I found another harem anime. Also I loved the show so much I even sent an e-mail to Ken Akamatsu telling him how I loved his show and asking him some questions which he answered through his assistant. Makes me loves the mangaka and his works more especially Love Hina.

But Peacemaker was an insane anime, very graphic, just an awesome anime

A lot of the series listed are good, but I don't find many of them addicting. Only when I can't help but watch the next episode even though it is 4 in the morning is it addicting.

I like space cowboy, but it was never addicting. It was a really good show, but when it aired I was okay with waiting a week for the next episode. Their is a difference between a great show and an addicting one.

Now there are others I really like, but didn't list. But there you go.

Vandread - I watch this one every year if not multiple times a year.
Please Teacher/Twins - I love how each episode opens and leads into an amazing opening.
Chaos;head - The first time I watched this show was in Japanese and I staid up late at night to get the newest raw episodes. I just loved how freakin weird the entire series was.

1) Clannad - I remember I watched like 75% of After Story in a day and when I finished it was 4:30 in the morning. Seriously, at the end of just about every episode I just couldn't wait to see the next one.

2) Toradora - Another show that I was up until like 5am for. Once the drama really started picking up I was just glued to my seat.

3) Kanon 2006 - I loved all the stories in Kanon. I watched the entire second half of Kanon all in one night.
