Most Useless/Helpless Character in a manga/anime?

The title explains it all, to me its Orihime Inoue from Bleach she barely does anything at all. She's just in the way, the only useful thing she can do is heal people which she rarely does at all and at that she sometimes heals enemies just for them to get defeated later.

But another good useless character would have to be Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She spends the first 11 episodes bitching about how useless she is and watches her best friend turn all emo and depressing, then in the final episode she becomes God and rewrites history and forces the universe to begin again.

Yes I think she's in the story line for just comedic and sexual relief.

I can't even think of one fight that he wins in dbz lol..

I don't think I even care about her anymore.. or Bleach for that matter.

Miaka from Fushigi Yuugi.

I really can't believe she's the main character. I REALLY hate her. She's helpless, useless, stupid, ugh.

Oh, and Sakuno Ryuzaki from Prince of Tennis.

She's is really annoying. She's really useless. She can't do anything right. She doesn't even make a good love interest.

Keiko Yukimura from Ghost Fighter

She's so helpless that it's really annoying that she has to share her opinions when she doesn't even understand the situation. She can't even fight to protect herself... so why does she even have to go to the demon world to even watch them fight? -__- She can't even see ghosts in the human world.

Main character's love interest from Guyver. She doesn't do anything except bitch at the main character, berate him for killing not innocent people, getting kidnapped and bitching to the main character for letting her get kidnapped, gets no character developement. Basically she stays a bitch, a very useless bitch.

Furuichi in Beelzebub doesn't do much, but he is hilarious and I do like him. I just wanted to put up a useless character in terms of fighting and whatnot, but is still awesome. Only scene where he isn't helpless is when he electrocutes everyone in the pool.

Orihime is pretty damn terrible. She barely even plays a decent "medic" role in the series.




Krillin has always been one of my favorite underdogs in anime. Only because he seems to get all the ladies despite him being a loser, plus in the Cell Saga he did an OK job of protecting Android #18....I guess in hindsight he was rather useless.

Mine would have to be Saya of Blood+. Blood+, not Blood-C.

She spends the first half of the series all hesitant to fight and just comes off as weak. Yet her background basically seems to point at her being this supremely dangerous being. Then the other half comes in and she has conviction to continue to fight but the series reveals that she will soon need to go back into hibernation soon. So she goes from weak-willed but powerful to strong-willed but weak.

In hindsight, asides from her blood(x20), the anime could have done without her and had Kai become the main character. And change his name to Saya. And then revolve around his revenge story of redeeming his father. Swords? Screw swords. Guns do much better. And maybe bayonets attached to them.
