The end of onemanga.com

Just visited onemanga.com and a screen popped up saying it will be shut down. It says it would be taking down manga gradually but all manga should be gone..

I am not sure if it's legit...

pleas discuss

i just open onemanga site and guess what it tell me? they will remove all manga next week what the fuck!? they said they have any idea they want to work. guess i need to find another reading manga till they back up.

This site seems to have promise http://www.mangafox.com/ did not do research on it so sue me ^_^

Was wondering who'd make this thread first, I wonder also how many other threads about this will be made.
Personally I am a little upset, I did use the site for a few series, nothing I can rly do to stop it.
Some how we'll get by I guess.

oh my bad was using my mobile when it died. what i meant to say was they are trying to take down all sites that use scanlations.

manga hoarders... no one can read every manga there is irl... lots of stores dont sell everything.. and also not all libraries have as much books as you want...

That is true on so many levels. There is not much we can do here. It seems publishers and authors themselves want nothing to do with scanlators. -A-

Legal issues are blown out of proportion nowadays. Now its " Do you pay rights to host this?" ...No. " Fuck you then" I also wish a few could stand up to this and confront it.

yeah i know this 2nd web i use to read manga which didn't have at onemanga so maybe i will leach there for time being....

i wish some of these people can come to an agreement... i mean... they cant think of everyone circumstances? not everyone can go out and buy manga or borrow manga. and lots of mangas wont ever see the light of day where other people in the world will want to read them... no one thinks about the consumers

Supply and Demand. Not many are avid manga readers. Just today went to the local store to purchase the manga Jack Frost(pretty good i might say) only i find out 1 out of the 4 volumes to be due out here are available. If nobody demands it, nobody will distribute.

you mean only one valume was in the store?

also you cant stay out all day reading manga in stores or libraries...

the net was good for those who dont have the luxury of going out and reading during store hours

Everyone is blowing this out of proportion, on the one hand, yes, scans are illegal and the publishers have every right to make these demands. However, this has happened before. A site closed down, content removed and everything was back to normal. For about a month.

The coalition or whatever the hell they are calling it is only temporary, they will think they squashed all the cockroaches in the vicinity, but that’s the thing , the scanners will just set up shop somewhere else and host it there, as long as there is an internet there will be scans. I think the publishers need to find a better method then sue wily nily every chance they get.

you sure? it could end up being like a witch hunt. people blaming these sites for new manga not being published and thus making it so they want every manga site to be taken down.
