But to be fair, being so popular, Onemanga just painted a huge red dot on itself, especially since they were doing something quasi-legal at best.
Yeah, keeping such somewhat under wraps is a sure way for them to last longer. Same with VN translations.

one manga was the first manga site i used to read manga and it pains me to see it go, i went on that site everyday for updates and now i will have to find a new hope. so ill like to pay my respect to one manga for providing me joy and an oppitunity to read manga amen.
and yes 1000manga will also be terminated

If onemanga closes down, will 1000manga go down with it as well? I use 1000manga to read 'Highschool of the Dead', but if it does go down, it's more of an inconvenience to me rather than something to mourn about. There are always other alternatives anyway.and yes 1000manga will also be terminated

With the closure of Onemanga, I think things are going to be moving back to IRC and the sites of the Scanlators, the read online sites are just too obvious targets for the coalition.
I think that this may actually be a blessing in disguise, for me at least, since with out sites like these I may be able to focus more on my studies, which are going to be at their most difficult next year. So this may actually be a good thing in the end, for me at least.

My inside sources tell me Onemanga is next. This information comes from someone very reliable. That will surely be fun to see as they have been running a for profit business since day one. Better back up all your shit now or download what you want before that happens. I can understand that some manga is hard to find elsewhere. Save as button be working overtime.Everyone should just move to downloading manga instead. While reading it online may be more convenient, no one can remove what is already downloaded on your harddrive.

These manga sites were BENEFITING the manga industry by commercializing it and they shut it down???!!! Those ungrateful SONAVABITCHES Onemanga and other sites will not be fuckin forgotten. If you're a fan of the manga they have, then take a look at the actual manga you're reading and look for the scanlators credits page or notes pointing to their blog. Almost all scanlation groups have blogs where they originally post their material. From there it gets leaked to various other spots on the internet including sites where you can read them by viewing online (even such sites as Fakku)
Just because the site is going down, doesn't mean the scans will stop, it just means you'll have to pay more attention to who is scanning and what their blog site is.

It was inevitable, and I believe only the tip of the iceberg. Having successfully closed down OneManga, I seriously doubt they will stop there. Un-licensed sites do have an impact on the industry's bottomline, and despite what some like would like to believe, it is a negative impact. With the anime and manga industies both suffering lower sales and with studios closing, a move of this type was inevitable. Clearly, the move will be to licensed collaborations similar to Crunchyroll - like it or not.

I don't know if you misunderstood my tone of statement or what I was suggesting overall. The end of OneManga is not 'over' as they stated they'll still have their forums and their community will still be alive.
However, browsing manga and so forth will not be available to you on there anymore, which is why I was suggesting a way to keep up with your favorite manga ;|
