I do want to say that I think the anime slightly mishandled Mari's character. She's a former gang member, why would she be quick to beat the crap out of a peeper (that wasn't even human) and yet be so meek with a "thief" around?

Well, I definitely thought that episode 9 was better than eight, (at least it didn't include any recycled animation).
Spoiler:
Shiori is just too cute for words, and I was dawwing like crazy when Elsie was trying to get her attention for more fire truck books, (which was cute in itself). It was also interesting to see her internal dialogues, and it sounds like she has so much potential to do great with her life, but her shy demeanor is preventing her from doing that. Hopefully Keima can do something about that, (unless he, too, is distracted by her cuteness).

My thoughts exactly. She's my favourite girl so far.

Yay Hanazawa!
I wish I could play as fast as Keima too.
I love Nishimata's style. The sharp characters really stand out against the softer backgrounds.

another great illustration isn't it.

kinda surprised her birthday's the same day as mine (but that isn't important) and her "thankonomic" did left me with a "huh?".

All that you just said I agree with, I am loving Shiori (this has nothing to do with the fact that I also love Bugaku Shoujos' Touko Amano [my waifu]) ah that sweet voice.

On a side note, that library is quite large, compared to libraries I've seen that is.

saw episode 9...its going to be very interesting to see how keima handles this new challenge, a quite librarian girl. this should prove to be his toughest challenge yet.

well thats just my opinion because keima will end up doing most of the work in order to win this girl over...thats if she just doesn't come right out and say i like you.

Nah, I'm just saying that Shiori is not "the toughest" one yet, "aired" in the anime. lol

well, maybe for the 1st season she is, but she's not the toughest so far. :D

If I have to rate the toughness level, she's around 7/10.

I thought it was superbly executed. Everything that they did with Shiori just seemed to be done so well. Also, props to Shiori's voice actor for being able to say "baka" and "aho" in way a that fitted the character's usual non-talkative nature. Most other times, such a character would shout those words loudly and clearly.

i agree, that was well done...pretty good episode. definitely added more to the "conquest"

Ep 11

Pretty good way to end Shiori's Arc. I found the childhood memories of Shiori to be rather boring but other than that it was not bad. For those who've read the manga, this ep could be hinting that Shiori is one of the few girls with a Goddess in them. She is shown to seem to remember more than the other girls so far in the anime, enough to begin writing a story about it. She also says that she remembers bits and pieces of what happened that night, which is a lot more that the other girls have displayed.
Sure it's been mentioned already, but I'm really jealous that they have such a nice library. Also, Shiori is reading Ergo Proxy in one of the scenes.


Is the next ep the last one?

I remember at the beginning of the series, the mangaka stated that DVD sales would determine the length of the anime. I don't know how well they've been selling. It seems like a rather unusual concept to base how long an anime will run, though it does sound practical.

This manga has a wealth of content; each girl's story is unique in its own way and plays some role in the overall story. I'd like to see this anime get more than 12 episodes. Or we're looking at another claymore.

As for the ending of the Shiori arc, I found it to be quite uplifting and inspiring, rather than romantic. Keima definitely did give her the courage to speak up about what she loves, and it ultimately helped her save the library. I also thought that it was interesting to note that she slightly remembered Keima after the kiss, (although only vaguely). I haven't read the manga yet, but I thought it was a neat twist anyways. I'm wondering how they will wrap up this first season next week then.

This one is amystery right now, even MAL don't have anything for reverence. We all know that the 2nd season is already green lit.

since the "Game bug Chapter" has already been aired. (should be after Shiori's Arc and Before Kusunoki's arc)

so, maybe.
After that is Kusunoki's Arc. but that's too long if they want to end it at 12.


either that, something original like the manddragon episode.
So, let's just see how it unfolds.

this would be cute, if somebody decides to translate the whole thing. and Sakurai Hiyori is cute....too bad she won't appear in the series... maybe a cameo..
