[General] Underrated Anime

its hard to say whats underrated nowadays...personally ones I like that I think are underrated are Seto no Hanayome, Eureka Seven, Soul Eater, Saber Marionette J, The Wallflower, Vandread, Angel Links, Getbackers, Key the Metal Idol and Str.a.into name but a few

That serie is underrated as fuck!

dunno if this goes under my prefs. but mostly older anime tend to go underrated, and mecha genre too... like "I don't like mechas" or "I don't understand big robots" or "big robots are shit I wan't ecchi(well I experience one scumbag human who told me this and he got what he deserved)"

Gundam: X, Turn-A, UC universe:0079 up to chars counter attack

Just a question... is pokemon under or over -rated? or something like Gen 1-3 or Gen 4-5, w/c is over and under -rated?

Not enough people watch Super Robot Wars.

I didn't get a chance to watch this one.

It's 26 episodes of pure mecha awesomeness though you might not get some references to past character development if you didn't watch Super Robot Wars Divine Wars.

Mushishi and Denpa Teki na Kanojo are other ones, but in both cases they are under-spoken rather than underrated. I think that's the same case with many of the animes mentioned in this thread because underrated would imply that people who watched it didn't like it, which is wrong in most of these examples.

Animes mentioned in this thread: FLCL, Eureka 7, Serial Experiment Lain, Mushishi, Monster, Claymore, Welcome To The NHK, Baccano, Golden Boy and Read or Die. I have have heard nothing but good things about these animes, especially Golden Boy, Welcome To The NHK and Monster. And I've only watched 4 out of these listed and I have to say they were all very good.

Just because any of your friends haven't seen (that anime) yet doesn't mean it's underrated.

You've got a point, I have no idea why I said Claymore, it's really famous but it's just not really discussed that much.

I'm still sticking with Serial Experiments Lain though, seems a lot of people don't give it a chance or don't even try to understand what's going on.

It still wouldn't count as underrated.

Maybe you should change the title to "Underspoken anime".

I would have to say Casshern Sins, most people cant get past the first 3 episodes. Granted it may be slow but makes up for it in story, philisophical questioning, godly dark music and fresh animation with a mix of oldschool robots.
