Clannad is just spectacular, it's in a totally different league. It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry, it'll tear your heart into pieces. And you'll always come back wanting more.

I definitely agree with you there. Clannad is definitely a series I will never get sick of watching.

Full Metal Panic! would be my personal all-time favorite, it will never, ever grow old to me. Other ones would be Kanon and Great Teacher Onizuka. While there are a number of really awesome shows out there like Clannad, Minami-Ke, Rurouni Kenshin etc, they just can't compare with those series that I can re-watch over and over again without growing bored of them.

Ironically enough, Clannad is also my favorite anime. But not only for it's plot. While I do enjoy heavy dramas quite a lot, the reason clannad stands out above the rest is because of it's quality throughout all departments. Writing, directing, art, music, etc. All beautifully crafted and well blended.

I'm curious to see the anime that will top clannad.

I can't be bound to just one anime but if I have to, I would say, Code Geass. It had Gundam elements, it had Death Note elements, it had memorable characters and plot-twists that changed the foundation of the story line everytime they came. Also, some of the hottest anime girls I've ever seen.
