Why do people hate Dubs so much..?

I don't really mind dubs as long as they sound real and can compete with the original voices. Sometimes they don't put much emotion to it as they should do.

It really depends on the anime, the only one I can think of right now that had god like dub is Hetalia: Axis Powers. The way they dub it makes it that much funnier

dubs are good for kid shows. Cause there's really nothing lost in translation and they can't read subtitles.

And on topic... I think that the hatred on the english dubbers stems from the 4Kids dubbing. Either the massive edits or new dialog (One Piece) or the anoying voices (Naruto).

Still, I enjoyed any Ocean Studio dub (Inu Yasha, Gundam series), DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho's dubs.

There are some good dubs, one of them being Full Metal Alchemist (to the point which I prefer it to the original), the rest though feel empty, theres no soul, no passion in the voice acting.

I actually watched German dubs for a while, but switched to subs by now. I'm not sure why, but they started to sound bland to me. Also, I had the feeling that the VAs are reused over and over again. But that doesn't really make sense, since I still have trouble to distinguish Japanese voices (I did notice that Nagisa from Strawberry Panic is voiced by the same seiyuu who also did Rena from Higurashi without knowing that beforehand, though).

Actually, it's mostly the same with everything now, not just anime.

The Japanese actually did a good voice acting job. I guess you just don't know how to appreciate it.

That was slightly funny, but I don't think that was intended to be fun hence I think it's crap. But whatever floats your boat.

Now the reason why people trash down on dub watchers is pretty simple. You can't discuss anime with someone who watches dubs because you're watching 2 different things, and a lot don't even consider what they are watching to be anime and are ashamed to be lumped into the same category as them. Minorities that does weird stuff is always treated bad.

Most dubs suck regaurdless of language. Only if the voice actors actually get into the role and enjoy it does the dub become enjoyable. Cowboy bebop is one of the greatest if not best dubbed animes as each actor really got into the role and made the characters their own. With animes like bleach or naruto the voice actors dont get into the characters and the dub just seems akward and forced. So to answer your question, people hate shitty actors ruining a good charater or show.

Dubs usually have shitty voice actors so it's just nicer to read sub and have your own mind of the character a bit. Kinda like a book, you get your own impression of the characters in a way, if that makes sense.

Hellsing is supposed to be completely over the top while still keeping a stright face, it's met to be taken with a grain of salt, because seriously Vampire Nazis, how can anyone take that seriously.

No. Just no. It's because I just didn't find the anime entertaining at all. It has nothing to do with what language it was in. And it was actually worse in English. So your guess is completely false and incorrect.

Because I simply like Japs better.

DUbs sucks when the words enunciated are extremely unrelated compared to the original script, losing the original value that the writer wants to focus,..
Also, it sucks when the voice of the dubber is far different from the imagined voice of the character...

All that emotion gone in dubbing.

I dislike dubs for the following reasons:

1. The foreign language will always lack the intensity of the original language, thus it sounds inferior.
2. Most dubbing companies sacrifice the meaning of some dialogues just to fit them or make them sound 'right'.
3. Some dubs are wrongly translated entirely and it makes everything just sound awkward.
4. Sometimes the dubbing actors they use can be the worst match for the characters, that sometimes a supposedly loli character sounds like an 18 year old while some male protagonists sound more whiny and downright unlikable.

I just hate dubs.It destroyed the authentic Japanese spirit of anime.
