Why do people hate Dubs so much..?

You just seem like the type of person who watches mostly Japanese school life anime, if not for the comedy, or a show with just Japanese name onto it. Anime is never made to have the spirit of the Japanese. Anime is only a form of entertainment, hobby, something that is SO large within the industry that is mistaken for the spirit of Japan or the Japanese culture. Moving to my point, there's that language barrier that most dubbers couldn't get across when pronouncing Japanese names. If they could pull it off, would that necessarily make it better?

No, because we also demand emotions, something to get us hooked onto the show just as the Japanese voice actors did. Something about us that demands so much from the dubbers saying, You guys suck or NO EMOTION MY EARS!! or Why you no speak Japanese? I agree with AZ the dub has voice ACTORS not voice IMITATORS, otherwise the Japanese would have dubbed it themselves. If they did that, we would not have licensing companies then every fan would be happy. No. The reason why we have licensing companies is to make money so they can have more variety of anime selection within our country, therefore the Japanese animation will produced more anime shows that would appeal to the world but instead we have the internet because we are such weeabos, leeching and streaming and whatnot. So dub haters, stop your bitching, support the anime industry by purchasing DVD set boxes, switch the audio to Japanese. Everyone should be happy.

Who are they to complain about anime? they are fans who don't know any better, creating false dilemma everywhere because they are stupid that way.

But then again, I prefer subs which apparently automatically means that I only pirate my anime and don't support my country's anime industry, no matter how many DVDs I buy, so what do I know?

Relating to my argument, are you a dub hater? I'm pretty sure that the majority of anime fans prefer subs, but I never implied that dub haters are only the people who prefer subs. In fact, there are many anime watchers who prefers sub over dub, and yet they choose to respect the dubbing voice actors of America through their efforts in several anime shows. Several said examples from AZ would be Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, DragonBallZ, Gundam Wing and others as well. After completing one of those said series, would you say that their dubbing is bad? Of course, these are the classics anime that made a boom in America, but even so they were dubbed, and some are praised to be better than Japanese dubs(subbed).

Concerning of your piracy statement, I ask you what is the MOST available way of watching anime? Of course, you have the DVD sets, certain TV channels, VHS (for the oldies out there), Blu-Ray, and the Internet. Now then good sir, from which of these sources do you watch your anime shows from? Everyone in this forum literally watches MOST if not all their anime shows via the Internet which provides multiple ways to showing anime which is torrents, streaming videos, downloads, and other various methods that I do not know of.

If you purchase DVD box sets from the licensing industry, I compliment you a good job for supporting the industry. I envy your availability to accept the dub anime show you purchased, and choose to respect the show for itself, not for its dubbing voice actors.

If not and you stubbornly choose to ONLY watch subs, and deny the existence of dubs, and you sir clearly don't know any better.

If not and you choose to prefer subs, and respect several good dubbed animes, then keep up the good work and you know the difference between you and other dub-haters.

Dubs usually have terrible voice actors, but the only Dubs that I have enjoyed are Cowboy Bebop, DBZ, and FMA.

Honestly, I don't mind dubs. However, there is a point where it is really annoying. I mean, sometimes their voices don't match the characters at all! There are times where you can't even tell the difference between the main characters anymore, because of how close-related their voices sound like.

I usually prefer the Japanese voices over the dubs...

What I find kinda funny is that America use their own sense of language in order to differentiate the original dialogue with their own.

Example: Kida is complimenting Anri of her beauty and the dub Kida added in boobilicious. (Durarara!!)

I would name more but some are escaping me. Feel free to contribute some funny dubbed dialogue in some animes.

When i watch more dramatic anime's that were dubbed, i expect good voice acting, it feels empty when they're having trouble matching the voice to the emotion being shown to the viewer, and if we have some boring voice actor who's forcing a emotion, its frustrating, Like American actors, if they do a horrible job showing what their character's are feeling no one would watch it.

There have been some..terrible..terrible dubs. Stuff in Hentai that I REALY don't like and some in anime too.

I do enjoy some dubs like: Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyio, DBZ. I actually like the One Piece dub although I know alot of people don't. Gundam Wing was another that was really good, it honestly just depends on who's dubbing the Anime and how good they are at doing it. Sometimes I think that the English producers do a really good job in and put the effort into doing it. Sometimes I think they honestly don't give a damn. Unfortunately I've seen the later for alot of things.

In my country, the dubbing is great, spanish dubbing (specially mexican) is one of the best in the world, they do great dialogs (very funny improb) and they actors get really in to it...

never see anime english Dubs hate it so much, is rare the time and money to make english dubs have be used for it.

Glad you liked it. In any other cases, don't let this bother you when you want to accept dubs nor should this is another great example on why dubs suck. Bible Black isn't that great of an H-anime, nor is it that interesting. Almost nothing to ruin for the avid anime-watchers.

I tend to stay away from the word hate. I don't hate dubs, I just that it's a lost in translation issue. Dubs usually fail to deliver emotions, and the whole feeling of an anime that the original VO's tend to project.

Although some successful dubs in my opinion of course are, Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball Z(Thank god for the soundtrack as well), and G-Gundam's very own Domon Kasshu.

Like I said, it's more of a "Lost In Translation" issue. Not so much as hating dubs, but that's just my two-cents.

I don't mind dubs. I just don't watch dubs cause whenever I watch dubbed anime, people talk REALLY LOUD ON THE PHONE AND I CAN'T HEAR WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. So I turn it up some more to hear what they're saying and then get yelled at for having the TV on too loud.

Lesson that I relearned today even after the fact that I have known it for years: DUBBS SUCK!!!!!!
