[Locked] FAKKU State of the Union 2016

I for one support this decision, because I want my favorite artists to get paid to do what they love. I don't want to continually see great artists walk away from there passion, because it doesn't pay the bills or someone keeps taking credit for their work. When I first found fakku I loved how I could find the artist of the work I loved and all of there related works. I'm not a subscriber, but if I get some more money then I'll do it. I like getting paid to work. Wouldn't you?

I don't normally post because I'm usually to busy rubbing one out here. Just my 2 cents.
I like that your trying to be legit and get some dues for artists.
I dislike the amount of content that has been removed, that hurts.
Edit: Also near everything in a sub now. Definitely out for me.
I won't stop visiting the site, but I'll prolly never sub, there's to many free sites / torrents that just make it seem like my sub fee is going to be wasted here.

I have been using Fakku for over 6 years, however only created my account recently (strange, huh?)
I understand why people will hate this decision, some part of me doesn't like it as well. But I understand the reason why this has been done and agree 100% with Jacob's post. Even though I have never supported hentai officially, I have supported anime for years and understand how is important for Japan to see that western countries care and will support their work, being hentai or normal anime. Unfortunately I can't pay for a subscription for the time being, even though I would really like to. The content you guys are releasing seems to be top quality. Hopefully a cheaper price can be achieved in the future and it's nice to know that different options are being considered.

Okay so I totally understand why you did it and as an artist myself I think it's awesome. My only problem is that some of the tags I liked don't exist with any content anymore. I'm not sure if this is related or if they just didn't have any licensed content but I just really hope they come back.

You can check your user preferences to see whether you have "controversial content" allowed.

I completely understand the reasoning for this and i wish you all the best of luck in the future endeavors, but... and there is a but...
This isn't fakku anymore, this isn't the website i bookmarked all those years ago. It's the same building, same faces, but its not the same. I didn't start coming here for the random pages of hentai that someone punched out and got published. I came here to see naughty and fun things happen to a character i like from a certain series, and i wouldn't doubt that a lot of people are in the same boat. Sure ive browsed the "Original Work" section and found things i've loved, but certainly not enough to want me to subscribe.
So whats here for me now? Some mostly dead forums and a shop that has had the same things in it for as long as i can remember. Like i said best of luck and I'll check in in a few months to see if anything good happens here, but im really not holding my breath

Most of these complaints came from people entitled to their free stuffs. This society has become entitled to free healthcare, welfare, paycheck so much that they don't understand these things had to be paid out from somewhere. The world doesn't work that way. Selfishness isn't the answer. They failed to notice that Fakku legit content has higher quality and uncensored which most fan scanlation can never hope to achieve beside "redrawing". They don't understand publishers and artists need the money and fan support. Artists do not work for free! If you desire free stuffs then feel free to pirate from somewhere else. In addition, each hentai magazine in Japan cost like 10 bucks each issue yet we pay 13 bucks to read everything and they still complained it's too much. We are not doing charity works here. Imagine if you are the artists who don't get paid for your works, but see your creations get distributed for free, how would you feel?

At first I was bummed about the need to subscribe. I've been visiting the site for years, been a real go to for me. I realized I don't mind paying for it because the content has never really let me down. What I miss is all the content they had to strip, but I completely understand. The legal burden that Jacob and the others must feel and the constant fire is a lot that most of the users here will never understand.
It was a good move and the team works really hard. Anyone who regularly visits this website can see that they put a great deal of effort in and it is definitely worth paying the money. I was a little skeptical at first, the contents a little skim, but thats to be expected right now and a lot is being added. It comes back to how tirelessly the team works to translate and edit, which they do a fantastic job at!
Another perk is that I was extremely pleased with the new UI and expect a lot from it to come. Also the elimination of ads is fantastic!
If I had one suggestion it would be that perhaps subscribers could get a one day access or something to a book maybe once a month or something. This would probably encourage users to try them out and see if they want to make the investment or not in them. That's really the only thing holding me back from buying one is figuring out whether I like it or not.
In the end I want to support the team and their work and I'm thankful for the high quality uploads they make.

i understand a respect this new format and will most likely sub, then un-sub, so i can re sub later when i can afford it that way i only pay manually. that said will we see only original works from now on or will a be able to stick around to get my naruhina fix?

I know only one publisher who managed to pull that kind of shit and they have been forced to close because they never bought the licenses for their stuff (considering the internet was not as used at the time they operated, hell it might have been Usenet at this time, one could say they are the ancestor of Sadpanda and FAKKU)

ok out of curiosity if i sub then the next night unsub, theoretically ill have prepaid that month an at end will lose viewing privileges and have to resub and if i could repeat this process i could have constant privileges just having to repay every month manually?? (not trying to pay less cuz 1 that cheap and 2 it wouldnt work just trying to stop my pirate bank from overdrafts cuz i would forget what day it comes out of account automatically)

I suppose if you pay for the month it's available for a month.
Just need to let the payment proceed first.

Can't afford the subscription right now, and this has just alienated me 100% from what was WAS the best site of it's kind on the net. even with the incessant popups whenever you clicked the first page.. and the weird ads you had to wait for...
And as other people said.. I came here a lot for the non-original stuff mainly, based off games/anime/manga etc. Even if your plan to get lots of the stuff back as legit licensed... it's just not going to be everything i want enough to pay $13US/mo for.
on the plus side for you though.. your server costs are going to drop through the floor, and at least your major income source probably won't drop too much? though i'm sure even some subscribers come here for the free content too.
