You should try to see if anything grand inspires you to write well thought out plots. There are a lot of elements that go into making a great story. It's what separates a tale from an epic. I think you should make another attempt soon and have in mind an epic to write. You do a good job already, but if you're not satisfied, then you need to push yourself enough so that you are. After all, it only matters when you are, or it should only matter when you are.
Character development is one of those main elements that go into a great story. You need to have a good understanding of human emotion and the mind of the characters that you are writing. That is why I try to place myself within the role of the character, because it makes it more personable and real. Additionally, we are not all psychologists, but we kind of have to play the part if we want to convey a genuine feel with our character's development.
When it comes to motivation, you just have to remember that you should write for you because that keeps it both genuine and unique. I can't tell you not to feel embarrassed when it's confessional, I simply don't feel embarrassed at all because I don't see disclosure as a significant matter. I simply do what I do and I can share it if requested. It keeps me genuine.
All that aside, you're a great writer, high, and you create great tales. Epics, even.
Inspirations eh, I have lots of those in mind but I think what matters now is how to put them out for a good use. Yes there's still many things I'm looking forward to write too. About pushing myself, I tend to do that a LOT of times because most of time I tend to be a lazy bum and slacking off whenever I tried to write something different than I usually were. Agreed with your point about the 'when', there's always the 'right time' to do things in order to make it turn out the best possible, it also implies the importance of not rushing when trying to compose the stuff =D
I also used the same concept when I tried to writing the chapters, I usually imagine myself as one of the characters as they interact with one another, mostly in order to create the enjoyment and level of immersion that I wanted. Though I can't call myself a psychologist (more like just a psycho) I find myself intrigued by it as you disclosed earlier.
Writing for myself? Hmmm...you got the point, I think most of time I tried to write in order to meet certain demands I set for myself on what I really wanted these pieces to turn out. Ah thanks for the encouragement, it lets me know that giving 'a bit much information' could sometimes have a boon by itself~
Thanks a lot Xenon, I still have a lot to learn in order to become an author I aspired to be. I think you also did a good job on all of your works here, so to say I'm also impressed, in addition of your capabilities as your author, is your devotion to this section which makes me thought, this place wouldn't be so developed if it weren't for you~
