Touhou seems to be a Lord of the Rings but a more accurate comparison would be Expanded Star Wars universe.

Star Wars is more messy and incongruent than LOTR. I am not so sure about Touhou.

There's not much being said in the manga so I don't think it will help you much reading the official manga :v

most people will come to me and ask, "What's Touhou? An Anime?" Which rage me up >.

I don't really know much either about Touhou, beside from the fact that the creator himself is a hardcore drunk, a creative genius on top of that~

So yeah, it's basically a hard thing to wrote the Fanfiction as a whole since there's so many backstories around but when you tried to focus only on a specific cast of characters you're familiar with, things will become much easier~

Ah I see, I think reading the official works might also give me a brief description about their personalities and that's what I'm looking for. And for their backstories I might look up to the articles written in TGC to help me out with stuff while working on my future Touhou works~

Wikipedia is my ally. Never mind that it is inaccurate. An anime would do it justice given its apparent popularity. I first heard of it through this site when erotic parodies are posted there.

I agree with High. Best stories are stories in which I care about the characters or care about the events. Of course, since we are not writing about fantasy worlds or histories, it is best to focus on a small group of people. Not to mention, it makes your job way way easier.

In one way or another I'll try to limit the number of characters I want to include in my stories since I want to develop both the side and main characters, giving them an equal share to make things balanced

Well, character limiting should only apply to those you're expanding on - imo there could be any number of side characters present throughout the story. That's just me though!

Kirby just keeps dishing out more works! With his perseverance and some improvements on basic grammar and etc. I think he could be a real good writer. All that would be missing is creativity in forming a plot, but that can come over time~

If I were writing a story about princesses, I would plagarise the history books. You know, give those fairy tales a dark twist or begin mocking what princesses actually have to go through in history.

What comes to mind is marrying princesses off to barbarians or nomads. I hope they are the adventrous sort that loves living off the land and living in tents for the rest of their lives!

And of course, since we are in a pornographic site, let us up the ante by making things kinky! After the chieftain they are bethrothed to dies, those poor princesses have to marry their sons. I hope they are into paedophilla as well! Even better if the new chieftain is part of the MoroIslamicLiberationFront.

I don't know if you could count that as "creativity", but I prefer something different from what we usually read.

High: Speaking about character development, I think I'd prefer seeing well developed side characters that the main characters have to interact with to advance the plot, even better if the side characters are female and well developed, if you know what I mean.

If the characters whether main or minor go through character development, I'd think I need a reason to care about them.
