Not all people take to my writing. You should have seen the responses on my thread. I think Nejik was both honest and polite about it. In short, the people who read my entry had no idea of what to make of it.
I noticed that those who did not like it did not take English as a first language, with the possible exception of high. Then again, non Anglo-Saxons were contest judges most of the time.

I'm back for now, that was a pretty long time away with my family nagging me around. now I'm temporary free =)
not that many people read my entry huh, that was kind of expected lol. I'll probably start reading the entries by the time my family went back this 2nd of January.

well, it's not really written like how a story goes. I don't know, I just find it hard to write something in the traditional story format, it doesn't really click with me nowadays.

well, it's not really written like how a story goes. I don't know, I just find it hard to write something in the traditional story format, it doesn't really click with me nowadays.
I went around advertising my entry and I suspect the rest did the same. I believe that is the reason why there are more responses in the other threads.

I see. nowadays I don't really like to advertise my writings since I didn't really wrote for people, and that probably explains why people favor the others who write in a way that many seem to like, or coincidentally in favor of many.
maybe it seems a bit contradictory that I kind of yearned for the others with the menial thing I've churned. logically speaking, if I were to write something like this, it's best be kept for me and myself alone. I don't know, sometimes I just don't understand my train of thought.

I admit that when Nejik said he was conflicted between continuing my entry or stopping to read altogether, that I succeeded in my job which is to get a reaction.
I do write to stand out but it is not just anything that is different. I have my unique style towards writing and I believe you do as well. I was hoping for something more story-based from you. As I said many times, I loved your work that makes references to your personal experiences, not just what you felt.
I intend to do a little campaigning for my entry and mudslinging by parodying the other entries after the deadline is over. leonard267-style of course.

well yeah, story-oriented. I think that's what my main problem was.
I think I sometimes cannot really write things and understand it in other people's perspective. when I write, I just kind of imagined what's going on in my mind without trying to explain it to others what had just happened. like, there's nobody around that listens and will listen and I just rant around whatever to nothingness.
good luck for the parodies, I think you're one champ when it comes to this matter.

I face the exact same problem. This is why I don't bother with character creation. The only character ought to be the narrator and what he thinks and does. I am more interested in what the character does though.
Did he score the jackpot? Did he commit murder? Is he trying to recreate the universe? Is he nailing his colours to the mast and challenging the forum moderators?
If you can do some allegory or monologue about how it is like navigating and speaking to people in the forums, I will be more than happy to read it.
If you post a long story about how you tried to court some woman in the Love, Romance and Relationships Section, I will definitely read it. It is drama.

Well... I did not intend for my entry to come in so late, but as it stands I will probably just wait until the polls start and I'll put my thoughts as they come up. It'll serve for some good re-bumping I suppose.

Naw... A lot of people including myself complained about my style of writing. It is good to see that there are people who liked my entry as much as hated it nonetheless.
