[font=verdana][color=green]If you really were a noble, you'd say "I am a noble myself", or even just use "aristocrat" - nobles rarely say they are a "noble".

Besides, from your stories, I can tell you one thing: you misunderstand entirely what a butler is. You treat a butler merely as a person who serves you, whereas a butler's main duty is not even close to that. A butler's main duty is to ensure that the man they serve grows up to be a proper gentleman. Oh yeah, that's another thing. Traditionally, a butler would only serve a man/boy, and not a female. That would be left to their maids, with the head maid pretty much having the same duty as the butler. Lastly - because "the more you know" - becoming a butler was seen as an absolute honour; only the eldest son of a family would ever be allowed to become a butler.

So yeah, don't treat what anime tells you as absolute. It's actually quite laughable how wrong the Japanese get it. If you want a person to serve you, get a servant. If you want a person to make you the best gentleman you can possibly be, get a butler.

I sense a Hayate no Gotoku reference for that source of misunderstanding lol~

But, it doesn't matter where he got it from, all that matters is that he has gotten it wrong all this time and it needs to change. One of the things in a story that does not reflect well is a lack of research above everything else - whenever I use something that can be mistaken, I always check to make sure that it is correct.

Hopefully, I will have a story done near the end of May, so you can actually see one of my stories. I have done some for fun, but they were wiped when my laptop crashed. That was a big blow.

Ah, to answer the question, I always find myself writing stories with a kind of doom-and-gloom feel to it. If anything, I feel most comfortable writing romances, just with a really sad theme to tack on it. I have a friend who writes a good bit of comedy and uplifting material, but I could never get myself to really write the way he does. I would be able to do it, but it just wouldn't flow as easily.

Something along the lines of Clannad and EF - Tale of Memories maybe? I like these series =)

[font=verdana][color=green]I heard something about it on a period drama one time. As I wanted to make sure it was correct, I then researched it, as it seemed interesting. As it so happened, I found out it was correct.

Very much so. I try to strike that area that Key hit at the end of Clannad: After Story. The area where the your emotions well up inside you, and you try to hold them back, but the more you read (or watch) the more your emotions want to just spill over. Heartwrenching and bitter, but not absolute sadness, is what I try to write.

Though admittedly, I'm trying my hand at an adventure for now. But, I can say with a sure-fire confidence that I feel the most comfortable writing something as described above.

Did you read Clannad and EF? I actually have not myself; I've only seen the animes.

I watched both animes and finished the Clannad VN. Haven't tried the EF one but I'll be looking up to it in the near future, I think~

I prefer dark fantasy, horror, romance, and downright action. I rarely do romance pieces well without some sort of tragedy involved. I say I like dark fantasy because it leaves me near limitless ideas.

Very interesting, these kind of stories that invoke intriguing responses and make you scream your thoughts off are some of the really nice stuffs out there~

Speaking of Dark Fantasy, it reminds me of something like The Evil Dead movie trilogy. Watched the first one and it's fukken inspiring, will be looking forward to watch another two~

My inspiration for my dark fiction habits has come from a lot of horror movies, mainly Stephen King. My greatest inspiration is from Gen Urobuchi, who is the writer of Puella Magi, Fate Zero, and my favorite VN Saya no Uta. He mixes story with Horror, mystery, and fantasy elements so well, that I hope to aspire to his level as a writer. I've got a long way to go though, but I'm willing to learn.

I watched Puella Magi and I really like how the series have the tendency to troll the pedophiles and the rest of the viewers to the max, the storywriting is genius I admit~

Meanwhile, if you like Tragedy stories, this comic will be a great inspiration point, truly inspiring

Heya high, I read your comment in my CHESS story... Totally agree, mostly in the 'too fast plot'.

I indeed gotta slow it down... I planned the first few chapters to be the 'explanation' story, but I think I'll just erase a few useless part that'll make the story seems to be 'hasten' and now focus on suspense, and also some fighting scene.
