taking manga into consideration under your definition is would still count as most manga are written over a long period of time most of which reach 300 pages in their first few volumes.

a book as a work can reach that in a single volume but as manga are different their stories are stretched into serialized volumes as a whole 1 story told over several volumes would still be considered literature by your definition.

Yeah... I just realized that. I was just going on the good old books that people used to read. Like "War and Peace", or "The Good Earth". Books like that.

which are still great books, but to discount all other works is elitist and creates a stale palate people need to expand their horizons and read meh stuff from time to time. I'm sure the writers that wrote war and peace and moby dick etc all read stuff that wasn't considered a masterpieace =/

I wouldn't know, as those writers made the books in the late 1800s to early 1900s.

I've tried to read manga, with it actually in my hands (I hate doing it electronically), but I can never procure a copy.

It will be a compilation of random Comedy stuff heavily inspired by his artworks, can't wait to write the first chapter! =D

Nah, still waiting for that 50 ton block of inspiration to hit my head. I might join the seasonal writing contest... Though I'm more of a cook and Anime otaku than a writer. I'll try my luck.
