I'm laughing at the fact that that's true (about the thug life and what-not). Civilized culture is too evil and scary for the "simple" man, so we have dumb ourselves down to include them when they could, you know, go to school and try to be educated and productive.
Mhm.

Have you seen an RT.com documentary involving George Gerbner's Mean world Syndrome?
Different from in previous eras in movies, where the black characters were poor or minor characters, fhe media now shows black people as a standard middle class successful americans.
Other Main Points of Stereotypes mentioned from documentary:
Mexicans are seen as drug smugglers.
Puerto Ricans are gay, wiggers, or both.
Brazilians are gay and happy and their miles of aluminum houses is kewl looking, and not starvation poverty.
Muslims are people smart and organized to actually plan a bombing, but one of them spills the beans on the location of the attack they will make after a torture from the heroic MC and his bitch. This of course, means in the minds of the hoi polloi, that torture is completely acceptable to save lives.
Rednecks are ALL Nazi and/or violent.
The main point of the documentary is that people take everything seen on TV as the truth. And think their world IS ALWAYS EVRRYWHERE violent, causing them to be fearful and violent critters.
No, I haven't.
1. I'm gonna need a citation on that.
2. Druglords and gangs rule Mexico and there is a public execution almost every other day. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/26/mexico-execution-roundabout_n_2957322.html
3. Brazil is undergoing a huge protest right now as Brazilians are finally fed up with extremely corrupt politicians and arbitrary laws that only serve to make the rich richer while leaving much of the infrastructure in shambles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCCGbJW9QoY
4. Muslims are some of the most hypocritically intolerant people I have ever met. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=T7epss85wSw
5. Rednecks and trailer trash. I know they exist, but I haven't from them recently.
6. About 70% of the planet is uninhabitable by humans and all around us lies the vacuum of space. It's a dangerous world out there and it's thanks to the human race's strengths and sacrifices that we have made it this far. Happiness and prosperity exist, but if we as a human race stagnate and become lame in our vigilance, the natural dangers of this world will catch up.
