Have I mentioned about that Polish assault rifle that's being developed? Its the MSBS-556 (
Modulowy System Broni Strzeleckiej kalibru 5.56 mm), looks a bit like a Bushmaster ACR (like many newly developed assault rifles nowadays) but the one feature which interests me is not that it can change parts to configure into different modes like a DMR(Designated Marksman Rifle), carbine, assault rifle or light machine gun(A bit like the Stoner M63, ey?) but the fact that it can be configured between bullpup and traditional style.
Of course, that picture was of the prototype. When they made the actual thing, a few bits were changed. For one, instead of an integrated quad rail, it instead has a standard handguard with slots for short accessory rails. Another is that they've replaced their proprietary flashhider with a standard AR15 birdcage flashhider. The prototypes were shown with Magpul PMags but the new ones seem to feature a unique transparent magazine, I hope it's still able to take in PMags and STANAG magazines. One thing I hated with guns like the G36 and the AUG was the fact that it used unique magazines and not STANAG, logistics is a pain.
One of the images I saw of it, had an underbarrel grenade launcher I've never seen before. Its got quite a nice look, very ergonomic I imagine. The trigger for it is positioned at the front with an angled piece not dissimilar to a Magpul AFG at the back where a trigger traditionally would be on a underbarrel grenade launcher. I image that angled piece may hold a spare grenade round in it. If it's a 40mm Grenade Launcher, I'd definitely look for investing into this if I was in Army. (Maybe I should tell Kei about it, he'd probably want to get his hands on it.)
Overall, this rifle looks interesting and I'm sure many people(outside of Poland) would like to get their hands on one. Especially a certain Army Sergeant whose account I'm looking after.
