Why does everyone hate netorare?

I don't mind NTR, as long as it's not rape/forced and/or paired with an old ugly guy.

Urbandictionary is not a good way of getting how the Japanese use netorare or NTR at all. Nothing in google actually leads to the proper meaning of netorare, NTR or even netori.

Well, there are some NTRs, mostly netori, that are actually emotionally safer for the normal public.

One of the most often examples I've seen other people give is Hanzaki Jirou's Love Love Rumble, where the MC is the guy who goes out and sleeps with other people's wives. Peace Hame is the ultimate netori NTR manga, since the very goal of the story is for the MC to steal someone else's fiancee, while having sex with other people's girlfriends in the process. I could probably point you to more of them, but the search for good NTR hentai, whether netorare or netori, is part of the adventure.

People differentiating cheating from netorare are another form of denial: those refuse to accept that a vanilla artist could do some netorare.

Eventually I think the reason why cheating and netorare almost became one and the same for many people is because what you see is more or less the same thing, with a different focus: still, a woman is fucking someone she is not supposed to. I mean, whether netoru means 'to sleep with and take' or whatever doesn't change the fact that we do have many and many netorare stories with a 'happy' ending where the 'cuckold' gets the girl back, don't we, wouldn't that turn the story from netorare to cheating? Apparently not. Does that make the story any less 'girl taken away'? Guess not, I dare anybody to not call Hakaba's Koukai Benjo netorare, he's much more mindbroken than she is and yet everyone considers it netorare by her side only because pretty much the whole school had sex with her. Whether the woman is willing or not, whether she never yields or she was looking for some sex because she was frustrated, in all situations girl is 'forever defiled', that's pretty much it. Cheating though doesn't focus on the guy being cheated on and the woman is very often willing, she doesn't even need to be seduced (frustrated housewives). Netorare (not netori) makes it perfectly clear who is the victim and tries its best to make him look like a pathetic loser and even when he's not the plot is against him so there's absolutely no way he can win, all he can do is pop a boner, masturbate in defeat or score a phyrric victory (getting the girl back after everyone already fucked her).

But anyway, I still am kinda convinced that what makes a story 'netorare' is mostly the writing. Even a vanilla story can feel kinda wrong because of a misplaced line. Ever heard of 'I got taught many things'? It's like sticking a 'USED GOODS' label on her shirt. There are some Higenamuchi translated stories about one-time cheating, guy fucking his friend's sister, couple swapping. I am more or less immune but I can tell if I wasn't my rage would be over the roof as they all read like 'in your face' netorare, the worst one. By definition they are not yet they read like it and I'm sure this is what the author wanted.

Scarlet Desire is unquestionably netori and yet you don't see it tagged anywhere, only incest as that's the main focus, that's why people look for it, if they wanted incest netorare they'd go straight to Hana Hook. Shunjou Shuusuke got some cheating wife stories and they are tagged accordingly whereas Yoshiura Kazuya gets often insta-netotagged because even a one-night-stand story of his like Sleepy Pussy feels wrong. On the other hand Little Problem got tagged as both 'vanilla' and 'netorare' and somewhere else people flat out refused to do it, the best it got was 'cheating' and 'reverse-ntr' as they associated netorare with the bad guy and seeing the good guy win felt weird. The Same School by Itaba Hiroshi follows more or less the same pattern with the bullied subordinate winning over a woman being cheated on by his boss. The same Coelacanth story is netorare by the author's own admission yet the writing is so bad all you can do is shift the eyes: more than a ntr story it feels like a tsundere story with a girl terribly in denial about her childhood friend and the bonus of an unlucky boyfriend caught in her denial. 'I-It's not like I'm agreeing to do this sex training course for you or anything'.

I don't know, tagging probably should be on a case-per-case basis but I don't think many people would be willing to sit down and do that every time in order to make a proper distinction.

Seriously though, some people just have different taste and either can't dissociate themselves from the person getting NTR'ed or they just don't like the feeling of betrayal NTR attempts to make you feel. For me, I enjoy NTR because I can do the first option. Others can't and some constantly bash it to as if we two shits that they don't like it. I'm cool with people not liking NTR but I wish people would stop reading it if they don't like it.

Also, I wouldn't give NTR that much philosophical thought. Basic thing about NTR is the man is usually dominant over a female and the female submits and gets aroused by it (some they don't, but to each their own). Just another flavor to try and experience. Some people also have the "rape fantasy" mentality, I know I just like it because it has a rough-housing element to it and it's a change of pace from sweet vanilla. The art and sex scenes when done right are pretty good as well.

I'm as anti-vanilla as they come but even then I don't get the appeal of NTR. I'm not offended by it or anything, I just don't get it.

For me I btw liked "The Same School" by Itaba Hiroshi, I know it is NTR, but the netori kind and the inability of the guy getting NTRd in this work is plausibly explained (from section supervisor - who cheats on his (imo absolutely HOT) wife to a demoted and shamed rookie with a deep impact in his entire worklife.

IF the plot is plausible, which are MOST Netori stories (Wife feels neglected, wants to feel sought-after again) then I enjoy the story. BUT IF the plot is not, like "Girlfriend wants sex from her boyfriend but doesnt want to look like a slut (who would think that anyway if the girlfriend would ask for sex) He doesnt want to be too pushy and give her time and the best friend or a good friend takes advantage of a moment of weakness of hers (she masturbates in the school or something) and uses it to blackmail her into having sex with him.
