Sure until it runs out of power, you didn't say there was more than one of those things nor did you say anything about a shield breaker, but were that attached to a tank, the tank would win since it could hide better than the gundam.

Firstly, as advanced as ahead of the curve, of everything else, that the gundams were that gun was even farther ahead of the curve, since the best beam rifle available outside that was twice the size and packed only moderately more firepower than the standard rifle did, it was like a missile launcher you could use over and over.
Second, you are asking about multiple tech-levels in one environment, which always leaves the guy with the biggest gun the winner.
Third by the time a gun of such power becomes available (and a gundam that awesome as well) tanks will fly, not quickly but fly, and will also be armed with similar devices, also the Wing Zero Custom didn't fire from space, it fired from about 1,000 feet up (rough guess) which is well within range of a death ray such as that. Had a tank, of equal technological level as a gundam in that series, been there for that fight it probably would have blown that mechs fool head off for being dumb enough to get that close while wearing white and glowing in the middle of the night, not to mention setting off the radar, then again that suit would have been, probably, knocked down by a fighter that was in the area long before it got that close

it's not the capability of the gundam,but the pilot,and also the Zero System. a gundam cannot easily destroyed by 1 rocket,it's isnt very enough to scratch the Gundanium Alloy.

Tanks are piloting by the Common soldier. they relied much on the technology rather than his capabilities as a driver. Heero,the pilot of Gundam has various experience rather than common soldier. it's not that easy to shoot the Gundam. besides,the Gundam has amazing mobility that cannot compared by such primitive weapon whose only works in land.

tanks are created to battle in quantity. they're just a common grunts who drived a battle machine,not an ace.

Gundam is piloted by an Ace. that's why,in every Series,the Gundam still win.

A tank wouldn't be firing a rocket that is another vehicle altogether, no they would be using railguns at this point which no gundam, not even Zero, can dodge a well-aimed shot going .75 luminal (1 luminal is the speed of light) which is guided using vectored thrusters....nor could the Zero dodge its own attack, since that would be the other type of gun I would put on a tank at this level of tech.

Gundams are merely elite versions of mobile suits which are also meant to fight in large groups. You could just as easily (perhaps more easily) create an elite tank driven by 1 person (the only real reason for more than one person in a tank is to have more eyes in one spot looking in more directions, well that and its fuckin hard to drive and shoot at the same time with as many weapon systems as the average tank has, oh and auto-loaders aren't being used very much since we haven't quite perfected them yet.)

Turn A gundam uses nanites as an attack, these can be countered with other nanites who simply jam all radio frequencies in a given are, or with a system already on modern tanks which has a similar effect, only point in making them nanites with that effect is to have them also set to attack other nanites. Oh, nanite(s) is a short way to describe nanomachines, besides nanites cant get through force fields unless they are designed to, which (depending on their construction, which is never explained but I'm sure it takes metal) can still be repelled with other means, furthermore we can always just keep hitting the Turn A until it doesn't have the power to run them anymore, which isn't all that hard its a big-assed mech, I haven't even gotten to use the fact that the more simplistic nature of tanks means they will have pound for pound more armor.

EDIT: I know my mecha and my tanks and all kinds of obscure information, most importantly I know simplicity in design makes a sturdier and more reliable device, normally, I also know that the sword evolves at the same rate as the shield, for every offense there is a conceivable defense (for the buster rifle it is simple, get bigger shields, fire the Deathscythe's buster shield or something equivalent at it, find a frequency of energy which turns off the death ray it makes, or don't let it shoot. Those are your options.)

false : there's ONLY 2 mecha that using Moonlight butterfly. Turn A,and Turn X. the creator of Moonlight Butterfly is unknown. and normal humans cannot create such incredible power.

Since they are nanites they can easily be repelled by simple sonic emitters designed to send raw concussive force (same crap sound energy is, vibrations in the air only real difference is that sound is typically faster and less forceful) now unless they have magic propulsion systems anything that size will be casually knocked back. That's no theory that's the way physics work, another mechanism which will work to get rid of them, if they are metal electromagnetic waves will do it, if plastic use microwaves, if wood use fire, if protein use clouds of acid and have all your troopers wear NBC gear (nuclear, biological, chemical)which will also keep an acid mist away from anything vital since NBC on tanks means pressurizing the insides, there are dozens of ways around every type of attack.

The biggest issue with an Eva unit is no one had the balls to build a vehicle to combat it, not sure why that universe could have used a few. Those are made of flesh an blood, a moderately powerful superhero, who couldn't crack open most modern tanks, would blow through those like they are nothing. AT fields never impressed me really, and given their size evas (or their shields) aren't all that strong. The Eva's are also using cheater alien tech, I already said most things using this is way ahead of the tech curve so it is viable, except here is where I disagree, the problem is no one tried to hit these things with a big enough hammer to crack them open. I'll be honest if I were that big and were wearing any kind of decent armor I would be able to survive a nuclear blast too. According to Super Robot Wars, eva units are quite easy to break without resorting to big gun tech, which I'm going with them since they are kind of in continuity.

nope. the Moonlight Butterfly cannot be repelled by anything. i've already stated that Moonlight Butterfly can turns any technologies into dust,that sonic emitters cannot repel the unknown power. if the humans can repel the Moonlight Butterfly using sonic emitters,why they dont use it earlier?

once again,the Moonlight Butterfly can turn any techonlogies. whether it's machine or non machine,all the technologies created by it,all destroyed.

it's like,when you want to counter the wave,using it with the same wave. the only way to counter the Moonlight Butterfly is using the same Moonlight too. otherwise,it'll be meaningless since the nanite(s) are unknown to humans and may caused destruction if they didnt counter it with the same thing. sonic emitter definitely meaningless.

like you stated to Eva,the Turn A Gundam is not a common mecha. it's designed by the unknown people. their technology is different to such humans. the space between the Tank and Mecha just too far. Mecha is designed to be the special unit,rather than Tank that are mass produced to be the army/grunts,not to be the strongest.

the think about gundam tech that they are ten thousand to a millions years ahead of our current tech. the thing is that youre bringing alien and unknown tech which is pretty cheap also if it was man made and only two were made, sooner or later someone would figure out how to replicate it and improve it then someone else would make a counter to it but i doubt the human race would survive on Earth before such amazing tech would arise

I would also like to point out the fact that a gundam can't be everywhere, and now you are stepping into that alien tech thing I already said was outside this conversation because alien tech in human hands does horrible things, because we make it better and break the tech curve. Another thing I thought, nanites are known for having an incredibly short range compared to guns, it can only affect so much area, and I don't think it can go all that far from the gundam, so I'm pretty sure I can gain line of sight and effect to the gundam before I'm spotted and just shoot the thing, nanites cannot stop anything that is going to punch through gundanium. I missed out on the ocncept that you are using 1 elite unit to replace an entire military because it was like 5 am when I typed the last message, my bad. No matter how powerful a gundam is, one whole mech doesn't make a military. What if something happens in more than one place, it can't be at both.

PS: the eva units were pansy little girls for their size, one of them struggled picking up a battle ship , that's like me barely being able to pick up 100 lbs in weight.

Mecha are generally human shaped but there are some with animal shapes:see power rangers or Zoids. The human body wins because of versatility and a truly awesome brain, that's it. Physically nothing special, but it's like the Jack of all trades master of none, and flexibility in function is king in most situations. Though in combat you may just want to be a fortress of metal and guns which can move at a decent speed, or a stupid fast pile of guns so you don't need the armor you just can't be hit, wait we already have things like that, they are the modern vehicles in the armories of every decent military all over the world. Sorry for sounding mean but it is the truth.

i bet if the military wants to make a destructive weapons,they wont use the tank as it.

it's about mecha, like i said,tank is using in numbers,not quality.

quantities always lose to qualities. no matter how many tanks go against Mecha/Gundam,all will be wiped out.

even the kids can easily choose the toy between Mecha and Tanks

the thing about animal shaped mechs is that the pilot would have to get adjusted to the way it move and humanoid mech would be able to switch weapons and be adle to grap things
im not saying animal like mechs are bad i would use those for specialized units, wolf like mechs for scouting, maybe a turtle like one for long range and artillary

Are you kidding? the tank has been in service for almost a hundred years, they are quality vehicles, one of them can destroy an entire town and still have time and ammo left to start on another. You have never played a table top wargame or an RTS have you? Quality and quantity need to be balanced, you have enough quality to take on all comers and win, if barely, in the quantities needed for any given mission. Most mechs range in the 20-40 ton range, most tanks in the 50-80 ton range, I wonder who has more armor? I won't even compare firepower since that is just silly tanks are 50-80 tons of engine, armor, tracks, and gun, I'm pretty sure it wins with gun too.
Kids choose mechs because they look cooler, besides they aren't the best at judging combat efficiency.

Like in Zoids? Minus the protagonists, since they won by being the protagonists.
