Also, as a point to note. Just because a cover is 160x50cm (equivalent to 63x20 inches) doesn't mean you should get a pillow that is exactly that. I did that with a pillow, and there was still a lot of empty space that was unfilled mainly because the tricot daki stretches a bit. When I ordered my cluster fiber pillow, I made sure to get a pillow that was sufficiently larger than my daki so that it would fill the daki up completely. If you get a 68x20 inch pillow (172x50cm), it will fill your daki without any gaps. Plus, the extra 12 cm will just be crushed anyways.
So when I finally got this pillow. I put on one of my 160cm daki over it, and i think about 2-3 cm of the actual pillow stuck out (by pillow, i mean, the fabric that covers the filling. the filling itself was all in there with my daki), which I just shoved into the daki, then zippered it up. It felt full and very "huggable". Couldn't be happier to have a hug-worthy pillow. :3
Needless to say, I'm not using my 63x20cm pillow. It's a polyester fill lol. It's just sort of sitting in a box all lonely and stuff. Maybe I should pull it out and put a 150cm daki over it.
You know, my A and J pillows are 160 x50 but they fit perfectly with All my covers even those elusive 170 x 50 ones.
But I guess the reason is being that the filling is polyester silicone.
Also I never understood most of you, you can afford to buy many covers that cost way more then what a pillow and shipping included may cost. But buying one pillow is like killing you. Does not compute.
Well, I can't explain that one either. I think us cheaper folks (lol) just put up with buying daki at a high price because that's normal (as in, they're expensive and that won't change), but with the inner pillow, if we can find it cheaper, I'm sure most of us will. And since pillows are sort of readily available everywhere, we'd typically want to spend a more "normal" price on them. I guess what I should say is some of us rather spend money where it counts more (that being dakimakura and not the actual pillow) if that makes any sense.
Plus, there's also the novelty of having more than 1 pillow.
I think it's mainly the cost of shipping a pillow that really scares us cheaper folks the most. As in, we'd have to pay a large amount of money for something that isn't really tangible and we wouldn't want to pay so much. Last I checked, large pillows from Japan will only ship via EMS, and they're quite heavy = larger cost on shipping. Hope that makes sense. I know some of you will go with EMS no matter the cost, but I certainly would choose the cheaper shipping method if possible. I don't mind the extra wait.
If you're filthy rich, it doesn't really matter. You'd just get whatever.
Hmmm, I've got 3 pillows, 2 A&Js and 1 that came with a Dakimakura, Previously had a bad experience with 2 pillows from Cafe Rio , that's why I'm paranoid over pillow quality.
And most of you definitely has higher spending power then me. My currency is 30% weaker then the USD.
And the reason why most people would go for EMS is not necessarily because of having it delivered faster but the fact there is tracking and insurance which SAL does not offer. Losing something expensive during the process of shipping is something I never want to experience again.
For me, it's because I literally don't have the money you think I do... everything I buy is pretty much on credit and I have to hope I can scrounge it up in time to pay SMJ. :P
If I were to buy an A&J pillow, it would be an extra $100 or whatever, when I'd much rather just buy more covers. When I finally do order through Royalpillow, I do want to buy around 10 or so, so that I may have a harem on my bed. :3
Ya, Rin was my first favourite until Saeko came into the picture and they're still close so considering I have a Saeko already and that this particular Rin looked so damn good I had to go with Rin this time.
On the subject of cellphone posting, I have an iPhone and don't mind posting on it when I need to. Making long posts is probably the only thing I dislike, but I mean long posts. Nothing beats a keyboard though!
I really like Rin a lot too, and I definitely like the Evening Call Rin case (and the Saber too, for that matter) and I also really like pen's artwork/style, but I just couldn't convince myself to buy it. The same pose, clothed/nude style of dakimakura covers pisses me off; I much prefer the front/back style. And that was probably my main reasoning when I decided not to buy it (that and finances...)
As for posting on a phone, I don't mind it too much but it's still a pain in the ass. One thing I will say though, is fuck touchscreen only phones. I "upgraded" from my trusty G1 (admittedly because it was broken after 2.5 years), to the HTC sensation and it has absolutely made text messaging and typing a royal pain in the ass. The next phone I buy will have a QWERTY keypad, even if I have to buy an outdated model.

Circling back to my previous question: Anyone have experience ordering through D-Stage?
My very first webshop order through SMJ was with D-Stage, and it's actually the reason I have such a massive spending limit. I ordered about 5 dakimakura covers and 40 something doujinshi through them. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. It depends on what you're looking to buy, but overall I wouldn't necessarily recommend them. If it's dakimakura covers, you should try to check to see if you can order direct, since they (along with all other consignment stores) add about a 10% surcharge on top of the cost the circle charges. They're actually where I got my first Evening Call and Dakemakura covers, before I realized they both offered direct reception (Evening Call was new at the time, so they may not have done it yet.)
For doujinshi, they have a good selection and a bunch of other cool goods, but I'd recommend checking Mandarake before buying, because they'll usually be similarly priced (for new) or cheaper (for new/used) and there isn't a proxy fee. But it can be a pain in the ass manually searching if you have a big order. The doujinshi I bought was all harder to find stuff that Mandarake didn't have.
If you do decide to order with them, and are ordering doujinshi in particular (high item count), use Yokatta over SMJ. Yokatta definitely has the best commission rate for stores (as I've said many times), but SMJ's rates become even more ridiculous as they charge an extra $2 (+ auction commission) per item. So for my 45ish count item, it was like $90 + auction commission.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask, but more or less, they're fine. I'd check out the other consignment stores like W-Canvas and such; they usually have pretty similar stock and one may have a better search system.
